Don't use them for critters! I had a chipmunk issue where they'd gotten in my crawl space, floors, under my bathtubs, and in my walls. Terminix got out to my house quickly, which was a good sign, but that was the only thing they did right. I was quoted a steep number for a week's worth of "service" (including blocking the opening into the crawl space, blocking the holes around my foundation, adding a shield to my roof access, trapping the chipmunks (and/or other critters), and a year warranty). The gentlemen came out to do this and was at my house for appx. an hour. I haven't seen him since. He only tries to call me, minutes before he wants to come check the trap. I work in Detroit and have told them numerous times, I need more of a heads up in order to lock in a site visit. He didn't even go into my crawl space. On top of that, he informed me that I was lied to and the chipmunks aren't covered by the warranty I paid for. I'm pretty sure there are now dead animals below my floors and in my walls. I'm going to have to find someone else to try and deal with this and it's already too late because it smells everywhere! The last time I spoke with the technician, he informed me my week's service was over and he was coming to take his trap back. Long story short, they're charging me ~$1800/hr to put an 8.5x11 inch screen on a little window and that shield on the roof. I will not be paying them that. read more

I have service scheduled. The Day I scheduled they deducted the full amount for the service. I wasn't informed that it would be billed the same day of scheduling. I have never prepaid like this before. I have $8 in my account. And they won't return my money. This isn't reserving a hotel or a rental. I have been using Terminix for years. My technician has been the same since day one. Jim always calls before he comes out to service my home and he always lets me know what he seen or treated for, once he is done. He also emails me a service ticket which has nice photos of my house/service along with the time it took to treat. Can't recommend Terminix or Jim enough! read more

Called to restart service, talked to a guy who took all my information (it was already in system).. had service from 6/19-6/20.. paid over $500 for ants... was assured they killed the queen and nest..well guess what's back? So I call to get them again, he took my payment $117..scheduled appointment for 6/1 from 8-12..at 1:40 I call, nobody available, I go online cause an email confirmation was there..this rude guy Josh calls to say we have no appointment, did I want to set one..wtf?? He was the rudest most unprofessional guy ever who tells me they can come 3-7 today. So I have taken off work to sit home waiting for them but they took my money already! Josh tells me I had no appointment for 8-12 but I have an email confirmation of the appointment! I regret calling them, they are shady and shiesty! I do not recommend them for anything!!! read more

I should have looked at their reviews prior to signing up for their "guaranteed" service. We have the pest control and mosquito plans. We have swarms of mosquitoes, after 2 treatments, we still have swarms. They charged me on 5/24/21 for our normal mosquito service. Based on my feedback to them, they sent someone out again on Thursday, 6/3/21, "free of charge" because of their "guarantee". On Friday night, 6/4/21 around 9PM my credit card gets charged for another mosquito service. Their website says they are available 24/7 by phone. I called 3 times and was told by the machine that no one was available and to call back later. I also sent a note through their contact us page. That tells you clearly not to expect a response for 1 business day. So the charge me Friday night for a service that was supposed to be free because it didn't work with no one to contact despite them "being available 24/7". It will be interesting to see how long they keep the money that they stole from me before returning it. read more

Absolutely impossible to contact, schedule, or get customer service. I made the HUGE mistake of paying online for service. After paying I was sent a message that somebody would contact me to make an appointment. That didn't happen. I logged into the account but was unable to manage or schedule an appointment. I tried to call their service line but only received automated phone queue. I couldn't reach a representative and they NEVER called back. I also sent several CONTACT messages. They did process the payment immediately even though it says they won't process until service is delivered. I"ve wasted more time just trying to schedule service than can be imagined. Need a no star rating, as they were a no show. Had appointment scheduled yesterday for between 1 - 3 pm with a 30 minute call ahead of arrival. At 2:30, when we had not heard, we called. They tried to contact the tech, but there was no answer. No one ever showed. Between the hold times on the phone and waiting at home, we gave 3 hours of our time. We called them to take care of an ant problem and they came out and sprayed some areas of the house and put traps down in some areas. The did not do the whole house. They took 30 minutes for their process. He definitely cut corners and charged the full amount. We called after a few days after not seeing and results and complained. The first call after waiting 20 minutes to get thru the lady that answered was rude and hung up on us. We called back just to wait another 20 minutes to talk a man who was also rude and after we discussed my concerns he chuckled and said he doubted our complaints. We called Orkin same day no wait and the came out next day. They inspected the house focused on all areas, listened to our concerns and took their time. Their process was an hour and a half plus. As of now whatever Orkin did seems to have taken care of the problem. They even explained the process and gave advice. I do not recommend Terminex. They are pretty much in comparison to Orkin the same price. Orkin is definitely more professional and they guarantee. read more

Wish i could give zero stars. Had a wasp problem near the roof. Called twice to get is taken care of. Both men just stood on the deck and sprayed "near" the area, not even touching the area i pointed out as the problem. I ended up dealing with it myself. Then, tried to cancel all future service and was routed to 4 different people!! Hung up on once my the machine and when i got to the 4th representative i asked to speak to the manager. Apparently managers do nothing - could not even cancel my service and could not leave a note in the computer to have it cancelled. An hour on the phone and 5 customer service people left me no where, so i called the credit card company and had them block all charges from terminix. I hope they all get bed bugs! read more

The Toledo/Maumee branch is terrible!! They don't service you or even answer the phone!! I am appalled at the disrespectful manner in which the Toledo Branch Manager Dan handles phone calls. We have tried for 3 weeks to get a follow up appointment and they would not respond at all, and now when they are finally responding because a regional director and other supervisor called them they finally called me back later than they were supposed to and were very unprofessional. read more

Terminix is a rip-off in my opinion. I called them last spring because I had a carpenter ant problem. They told me that to get rid of the ants completely takes 4 treatments over the course of a year to ensure that you get their eggs, etc. Okay, fine. So I signed up for 4 treatments @ $100 per treatment. The last treatment was in February. I got notice that they were going to be coming out again in May for another treatment. I didn't sign up for ongoing service--I signed up for FOUR treatments. So I logged onto their website and looked at my account info. The first treatment showed carpenter ant treatment, both interior and exterior. The last three treatments showed only exterior treatment and "general pesticide." Terminix had previously told me that interior was only needed the first time. But now I questioned, why does it say "general pesticide." So I called to cancel the fifth / indefinite treatment(s) and I questioned them. I asked, "Did I really get carpenter ant treatment those past 3 times?" Well, the girl on the phone was talking out of her a$$. First she said yes, it just says general, but they send the same technician out each time and that person knows that it is a carpenter ant house." I said, "Well, looking at the notes, it was NOT the same technician each time." She said, "Oh, well they do know to do the ant treatment." I said "Well, the first treatment shows all four materials used, including ant bait. The last 3 just show one material used, and it's no ant bait." Then she said, "Have you seen any carpenter ants recently?" I said, "No." She said, "Well you don't really need ant treatment all four times unless you continue to see ants." WHAT??!!! So I basically realized that they are liars and suckered me into the additional 3 treatments for no good reason. I was too tired to argue any further so I just said, "Fine, let me cancel my service." She transferred me to someone who tried to get me to continue my service. It took a few minutes of refusing to get her to accept NO for an answer. By the way, Terminix had also called me a few weeks ago to get me to sign up for some $200 preventative termite service, telling me that termites were active in my neighborhood and to treat them after the fact would cost me a couple grand. I have a feeling they were just using scare tactics. Bottom line: It's a racket, in my humble opinion. read more

Bed bug call. Everyone is friendly with you until you express how unhappy you are with their service. Appointments was kept, first one was moved up a day early, cool. Tech's was very nice and i don't blame them, they need re-training at the least. First time they came out, NOT everything was treated, 2nd time they came out, tech treated a " little more" AND gave advice we should of gotten the first time. Overall, only half of each room was treated and the powder they are using to dust with is NOT as toxic as they claim. You can get that yourself for a 5lb bucket under $100 and follow directions, Don't go hoog wild like i did or everything will be powdered for a long time.The name of it is Cimexa. You can get the duster for $5 or less as well, you can also convert a soda bottle into a duster, anything plastic you can squeeze to expelle the powder. Even a 32 oz bottle will treat 1000 square feet. I have 3 dogs, 3 cats, grand children here etc and has no adverse reactions here at all. DO READ instructions on the bucket. My infestation was pretty bad and these blood suckers was in my walls. 3 weeks later doing it ALL ourselves, all I'm finding now is dead bugs. I did have to put holes in my walls, about 1/4 inch in size 2 feet up from the floor in 2 feet increments 3/4 way up in between each stud. Be realistic about the problem. Wooden bed frames, get rid of them. Box springs, get rid of them. Mattress and new box spring, use plastic cover AND a bed bug cover over it. Put the powder in between box spring and mattress. They love to hide in there. Carpeting, put it down like deodorizer and rub it in and leave it. I got rid of my carpet and got wood flooring now. Dust EVERYTHING. The work you have to do is still the same as hiring them. DO NOT pay thousands for what you can do yourself. Also see my google review with pictures. They won't honor their 30 day warranty because " we not regular customers". Terminix still expects us to pay a $2500 bill for piss poor job. I'm NOT paying. read more

After speaking with a representative, I was told that I would be put on the schedule to have a technician at my house between 1 and 5 pm the following day. After waiting the length of the 4 hour window, I contacted the branch and was put on hold for a total of 20 minutes and bounced between three departments, only to find out that I was never put on the schedule. Unfortunately, this conflict went unresolved because I did not have the name of the person that "scheduled" my appointment. I will not be using Terminix in future because of this awful experience and would not encourage anyone else to use this company, not only because of of my own terrible experience, but also due to the array of other negative reviews that I regret not paying more attention to. read more

I wish I could give less than zero stars for a review. They said we have a beetle problem that's been there for years. We gave the technician a $245 down payment on a Saturday and he promised the check would not be cashed until Thursday or Friday. We got a second opinion that we paid for from a local VA approved pest control company that verified we do not have a beetle problem. The technician cashed the check Tuesday instead of Thursday or Friday as promised. This was 2 months ago and we are still trying to get a refund from the corporate office in TN. We call the TN every business day and leave messages and nobody returns our calls. They sent us sent us a check with some bogus "name" on it that is not cashable.
