The teller was absolutely the worst one that I have been serviced by. First she calls out for the…read morenext member then she completely ignored me while she worked on her computer. After a few minutes she tells me she'll be right with me. Then when I told her my account number, I told her old yeah? And she says yeah. All orher tellers from the other branches just laugh with me but not this one. Then I told her I wanted to withdraw $200 from my checking account, one big bill, 50 $1 bills and the rest in $5. When she counted the money in two batches, the bills were all over the counter, and she just left it there for me to pick up the mess. I will avoid this branch in the future unless I absolutely have to use it and hope I don't get this teller again. I know it's hard to find workers but this one leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

I was shocked that my large deposit of a check from my federal credit union was partially put on hold in 1day, 2day and 7day increments because my deposit exceeded $6,725!! I was shocked, because this had never happened on other similar amount deposits I made over the past 10yrs and my credit score has exceeded 815 over that time period. Isn't it shocking! what is BOH thinking! Maybe it is time to do all my banking elsewhere.

This First Hawaiian Bank is located just right on the edge of Pearlridge Center near Pali Momi and one reasons I do love this location is that they have parking that's dedicated to the bank regardless being part of the mall. This bank has been here for as far as I can remember and with that the layout is quite spacious with a massive outdoor area in comparison to many of the other locations but the was zero wait and with the help of a lovely teller the gentleman was a delight and was on my way in just minutes...it's just still frustrating that I'm unable to process my check any other way than directly walking in. Lokahi FCU deserves a Zero star for their ridiculous card activation systems. I now have a credit…read morecard and a debit card for my wife that cannot be activated. My entries were correct, but it their genius system gets into a loop and then finally declares some minor piece of info incorrect (it wasn't) and says it cannot activate the card. Tells me to call customer service. What do I get from Customer Service? A lecture telling me to be more careful inputting my info and they tell me to go call the activation systems again. And it all happens again...over and over. Lokahi FCU absolutely has the worst card activation system I have ever seen anywhere.

I don't know of any other CPB that has a drive-thru ATM/Night Depository. Long and short. Have had my accounts at CPB from when it was originally City Bank. Small local Hawaii bank that merged over 15 years ago, that's how long I've stayed loyal to my bank! I've memorized my checking, routing, customer service line, and seen changes throughout the years. Those days when I need to walk into a branch, I always get great customer service from the tellers, call center reps, and other departments bank-wide. Downtown Honolulu is home to the Corporate HQ's and Main Branch. Like any business or industry, when one area isn't profitable as another area, you'd either downsize, consolidate, or expand where there are new opportunities. Unfortunately, few branches were closed permanently, for example in-store branches at Times Supermarket and Don Quijote. If I was a brand new customer shopping around for a bank, this new Shaka account would be a perfect introductory! They give you $100, you get your direct deposit/paycheck 2 days in advance, and you get refunded $20/month on ATM fees!

Free calendar at Waimalu Shopping Plaza…read more.. Every year, I enjoy getting the annual wall calendar from Aloha Pacific Federal Credit Union. Members submit photos to the contest and the best photos are published in the calendar. It's really cool to see local talent from amateur photographers in our 50th State! Note: I'm a member here because I used to work for The City and County of Honolulu. My coworker said that it's better to have more Credit Union accounts and compare interest rates, benefits, etc. Since I was in the area, I went to this branch of Aloha Pacific FCU. It had free shared parking and great air conditioning! The interior was bright and clean with cute Christmas decorations. Unlike the main branch where members speak to tellers via phone - and place ID, checks, cash, and other documents into a tube to send upstairs, this Waimalu branch has face-to-face transactions. I like it better! When it was my turn, I stepped up and asked for a calendar. I was asked how many? Ooh! I got two - one for my kitchen and one for my bathroom... Haha! I never know what day it is! Anyway, I'm glad that I went to the Waimalu Branch of Aloha Pacific FCU. I had gone to the main branch a couple of weeks ago, but the calendars hadn't arrived yet. I wanted to go early before they ran out!
