New pool owner. I hired Terry's pool service to take care of my pool since I am new to pool ownership. I was anxious to observe what kind of care and detail details are covered upon a weekly visit, Life got away and I was not able to shadow the gentle "cleaning" the pool. I have a large picture window that overlooks the pool and my wife is mobility impaired I was able to watch. The next three or four visits, the longest the gentleman was there was 15 minutes. We never saw him take a water sample. (back to that in a moment.) I started thinking about $240 a month for basically hours worth of work and I mentioned it to my neighbor who recommended a different company, I decided I would go with the other company. I called cancel and a short time later got a call from the owner, wanting to know why I canceled. I brought up a short time at the person was there, I brought up not seeing him take any water sample but yet getting results emailed to me, and on two occasions, pictures of water actually being flushed from the filter, two other times, just pictures of the filter, saying it was back flushed ( but it was not because the exit pipe was still full of leaves, and the ground was not wet) The response was it doesn't always take that long to clean a pool, that it's not necessary to back flush every visit ( OK but why send me a picture saying it was)? And the water sample was likely taken at the filter. I responded, I'm glad you brought up the filter, I doubt anyone has taken a sample there because it is stuffed with leaves and it's not wet in the area. At that point, the conversation kinda died, and the owner's response was well if your new company doesn't work out we'd always welcome your business! The next part is my fault, I got billed for that service 240 bucks. ( I never really asked for a refund or not to pay. I guess I kind of thought since it was obvious I was not happy the charge of be waived I was wrong.)I reached out one more time made it clear that I wasn't happy, that I felt like the chemical test, and at least half of the times the filter backwash had been pencil whipped. No response at that point no offer to reduce the bill no offered to waive it. No offer to tell me that employee was substandard and we fired them. No willingness to say you're mistaken and here's the proof we did what we said we did. I paid the bill. I would recommend that you do not do business with Terry's pool service. And furthermore The new company did immediate testing some. I'm gonna get this wrong 12 point test. And not one of the items was in line. For the first three visits of the new company they've had to add something. And not just a little bit of something a lot of bit of something. this company is the worst. guy comes out once a week, looks at the dirty and nasty pool, turns on the back flush for a minute then leaves thinking no one was watching. Call and complained to no avail. Time to find someone else. I'm not making this up. This company is disgusting. read more

Scam. They don't put chemicals in, do nothing to stop algae, do not clean anything, even after coming back out multiple times. I verified this all through my own observations, testing, and a non-partial third party. They did hundreds of dollars of damage to my equipment by pretending to maintain it but not doing so. Everything was filthy even after cleaning and stopped up. I will likely sue. Horrible thrice over and they need to be reported to City of Commerce for fraudulent actions. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I called them to just get a pool pump installed. They don't do it unless they already service your pool. I was like no thank you, already tried service with you and you guys ruined my liner. They ruined my liner and I had to pay 4,000 to get it redone and they wouldn't assist on anything regarding fixing the issue. I will never recommend someone to use Terry's pool service. They don't seem to mind the negative reviews. I told them I had sediment blowing into the pool but had laterals replaced and it didn't change. So they came out...broke the newish lateral out, but a new one in, charged $500. Did zero diagnostic before doing it. Didn't even turn the pump on or watch it operate. When I called angry about it, they literally laughed. And then put a lien on my house and threatened litigation. Their view was that they can decide what to do, it doesn't need to fix anything, and they can charge what they want. If you enjoy burning money and being insulted, call them today. read more

If you have any other choice, make it. I would suggest filling in your pool before you use this company. I don't like doing business with hypocrites nor those so selfish they cannot see reason. Let's just say that this company refused to honor the probate requirements related to my father's passing, his debts, and accounts. The woman who handles their business affairs even suggested on numerous occasions that I disregard the probate process and just pay her. Ironically, they turned around and sued us. I guess legal remedies are only good for Terry's Pool Service. Worst decision made was to engage with this company. Find anybody else. read more

Terry's was immediately responsive and came out immediately for a quote to replace our pool pump. We had used their partners several years ago to do a liner replacement. They did the job quickly and well. We are very happy. read more

Absolutely a joke. Rented a home where these guys were supposed to be servicing the pool weekly. They did NOT because they figured the home is empty (Which it was for a few weeks) but charged for it weekly. After we moved in,Pull in, get out walk in the back yard look at the pool and leave. Leaving a note describing that the pool was vacuumed, skimmed, back-washed and chlorine level checked. NONE of which was done. Once they figured out someone was now living there, then they actually spent 10 to 20 minutes on it but it looked horrible when done. I went out to talk to her when I caught her there and could smell the post on her. Really? You can't wait till you leave a customers home? I asked about the awful stains. They said well we can treat it but it's not cheap. YOU ARE THE ONES who caused it because you didn't service the pool and it turned green and stained it to begin with. Whatever, we had them treat it and the pool turned milk white for two weeks until I called and complained. That's when Terry showed up, looked at it said that's normal. So the lady continued to show up weekly and do basically nothing. We had to skim the pool 5 mins after she left every week. The landlord hired a new company to service the pool which starts on April 3rd. The new company came out last week to survey it and said it looks like tea was being brewed in it for a long time which is why it's stained so bad. By the way, the last week that Terry's pools worked on it was last Friday on the 27th, the lady sat in the driveway, peeled and ate part of an orange and tossed the peel and split half eaten sections in the driveway! Then went in the back to work on the pool which looked terrible 10 minutes after she was done. (Shocking) We checked the chlorine level the next day and low and behold, no chlorine it it. Today April 2nd, the pool is almost green again. I can only guess she spit the oranges on the driveway because she new it was their last time servicing this pool. I would have called the office to complain but doubt they would do anything or care. Stay away from this pool service. If they offered free service I'd say no thanks. I feel bad that the landlord that paid monthly fees for work they never did. Who knows how long that went on before we moved in. They actually deserve -stars if yelp allowed it. How do you stay in business? My guess you won't be much longer. Get a grip on what your employees do and how inappropriate she dresses by the way. read more

Actually, I must say that the guy that came to my home and actually kept the pool clean was fantastic. However, it is absolutely impossible to get a hold of these people when you have a question or there is a problem. This had happened several times... even when wanting to purchase equipment or add services. I just can't imagine how they stay in business. However, this last time was enough. They stopped servicing my home this fall after the pool had been covered. This would be ok, except I have the spa that remains in use all winter. I called the main number and direct lines I had more than a dozen times. I emailed all the addresses on the website. I used the contact form. Nothing. Finally after calling every day or two for more than a month, they pick up the phone. I mention my month long quest to get in touch and ask what happened, if they were still open, did someone die... the guy just responded "huh... that's weird". He then noted that yes, I was supposed to be getting weekly service and that I was indeed not on any route lists. He said he'd put me on for next week. I said, "no, thanks". read more

Be careful with these guys. They inspected the pool of a home that I ended up buying. In their inspection, they recommended that a leak around the air pump needs to be fixed. They also gave me a price to do that. I hired them to fix the leak. They did and sent me an invoice that was twice high as the price they initially gave me. They adjusted the invoice a bit after I complained about changing their word but still the invoice was much higher than what they had told me. Their inspection was also not really helpful and they failed to tell me about other issues. My only star was because of the pool guys and dispatcher who were fairly nice. Terry's Pool Service is the worst pool service in the Florida. They promised to do a great job but they have been out to fix the problems they caused and the pool is still a mess. They put two leaks in our liner. They refuse to come out and fix their mistakes. When you spend $12000, the pool should be without an issue. Terry should be ashamed of himself, but is not man enough to correct the issues they caused. He subcontracted a pool guy to work on our pool, knowing he was not licensed in the state of Florida to work on pools. One star is too much. I have to say Terry is one of the best professionals I've worked with in any field in Tallahassee. He and his team are prompt, friendly, and reasonable. There have been a couple times I called him for one problem (needed a pump) and he noticed another potential problem (rip in vinyl) and fixed it without charging me extra. I have to say my experience has been the total opposite of the previous reviewer. Not only has the weekly service been totally professional and excellent (shout out to Adam!), with a pristine pool every time, but they were there for me in the crunch. When I had just bought the house and had trouble, they installed a new pump, new heater, new liner, and are now going to help me strategize a new cover system.
