I am so pleased to recommend this local business!! I'm currently sitting in the incredible Bullfrog spa I purchased just before Thanksgiving. I got a great deal on a floor model and Blake (owner) personally assisted in the delivery and set up only two days later. He coached me through everything I needed to purchase the right model, and told me everything I needed for set up and continued maintenance. Take any negative reviews here with a big grain of salt because I've found Blake and Aloha Spas to be nothing but reasonable, kind, and fair. Thank you, Blake! I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY SMALL BUSINESSES TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS WITH HOSTILITY. I COULDN'T BE SURE WHETHER HE WAS HAVING AN EXTREMELY BAD DAY AND HE WAS PROJECTING IT ON TO ME, WHETHER IT WAS MALE CHAUVINISM, OR WHETHER HE HAD SOME TYPE OF PREJUDICE GOING ON. I went to Aloha Pools and Spas at 9013 Mahan Dr. in Tallahassee, Fl on Monday, July 10, 2025. I had visited this store previously to purchase chlorine so I had the container for refills already. The employee (person/owner?) that was there at 3:45 p.m. was helping other customers when I entered the store so I waited by looking around. I immediately noticed a change in his attitude as soon as he started addressing me. He was no longer acting as though he wanted to exhibit customer service. He realized that I was there for a refill because he spotted the refill container in my hand that I had purchased from that store. When he gave me the price, I questioned the amount because it was more than the price written on the sign in the store. He started acting like I had done something to him by mentioning the price on the sign. He got hostile with me, raised his voice, and abruptly said he could cancel the transaction "RIGHT NOW!!" if I didn't want it. He went on to say that I was the only one that mentioned that sign, the price had gone up several times since that sign was written, and he was just going to erase the sign. I didn't know that asking a simple question could send someone almost into rage. I kept my voice low because there were other customers in the store and I just agreed to pay the price, because it was embarrassing to me. He wouldn't let it go though. He kept it going by saying "Plus it's extra to use a card!". At this point, I told him that I could use cash instead of my debit card, but he reported that he could not reverse the transaction on my card. I do not know if others have experienced this type of treatment but I felt like I AND my money were LESS IMPORTANT TO HIM THAN A WADDED UP PIECE OF PAPER. UPDATE AFTER RESPONSE FROM OWNER BELOW: I was going to just leave this alone until I received the following personal response from the owner but the publicized response included a comment about the price difference being only $0.25. Were you the employee that I encountered? The difference in a charge of $10.29 from a $9.00 posted price for chlorine is more than $0.25. The report is about the way I was treated more so than the price. If a customer comes in to make a business transaction and reports mistreatment, why would you chastise the customer who is already making a report of mistreatment? The concern is the disrespect that I received in your establishment: Hi Claire, We take your feedback seriously and regret that your experience in our store left you feeling disrespected. However, we want to be clear: we do not tolerate hostility toward customers, nor do we accept being mischaracterized with accusations of prejudice or chauvinism. You were right to question the pricing discrepancy, and we acknowledge that our signage should have been updated -- that's on us, and we're correcting it. That said, we expect all customer interactions, on both sides of the counter, to remain respectful and constructive. We value every customer and stand by our commitment to fair service. I called the store and the owner, Blake, answered the call right away. After realizing someone threw away the cap used to drain the hot tub, I called this establishment hopeful for good news. Blake was personable and told me he had just the item I needed. Once there I chatted with Blake about another issue I realized the hot tub was having. He gave me advice and a hot tub technician's number. We both agreed we hoped the issue would be resolved because I'm not in the process of trying to spend money on a new hot tub. Even though he sells hot tubs/spas, he was more concerned with my family and finances. I appreciate that honesty in this day and age when sincerity is hard to come by. As long as my hot tub works, I'll be back to buy products and items from Aloha. read more

Whatever you agree on, get in writing. Price was fair and delivery was fast. The crew he recommended to set it up did a fantastic job. However, the owner should stand by his word. He knows what he said and so do I. The fact the he won't back it up is disheartening. By the time inlay for the upgrade - because I will have to from someone else- the price for the package will be "fair" not good as I first believed- based on what he said and we had agreed on. read more

We are very happy with our Bullfrog spa. Blake was very helpful. We did a lot of comparisons and don't believe anyone beats the quality, design, durability, and flexibility of a Bullfrog. Absolutely horrible customer service. I notified them at the end of June that I wanted to cancel my pool service. I sent emails to two of their email addresses. Laura came by the house on the second week of July and I told her personally at the time that we will take care of the pool ourselves. She said, ok, no problem, and left without doing any service. So, I thought that was the end of the story. In early August I saw that Aloha pools charged me for the month of July. I gave them the benefit of the doubt that it could have been a clerical error and again sent a series of emails. After not hearing anything I sent another set of emails and now two letters to their office. I have had absolutely no response from either owner. The charge is still listed on my charge account. It is unconscionable that a company would not even reply to a customer's queries. So, I must regretfully state that their customer service is horrendous and will definitely find another company to service my pool when we go on vacation or need any other service and will not recommend their company to anyone. Update: Aloha Pools finally credited my account after my numerous attempts to contact them. They never responded directly to any of my messages. read more
