I actually don't want to like this Tesco. I don't even want to shop at a Tesco. Unfortunately, for all the other smaller grocery shops around it, it's surprisingly good, and has lured me in with its wide range of 'stuff I can eat'.
The main reason it's impressed me is that it sells a large range of gluten free products. You can not only get the Genuis Bread, but also the Newhouse, and the BFree range. The BFree range is gluten free, egg free and dairy free and therefore vegan friendly. You usually can't even get this range in a big Sainsbury's, and this is only a Tesco Express. Damn you Tesco!
You can also get Nakd Bars, and they do a big range of other healthy snacks - other bars, nuts and stuff, almond milk, soya things. And the Seeds of Change organic pasta sauces - I've only ever noticed that range in Wholefoods! They just need to start stocking Swedish Glace ice cream and I'd be in here every second day, and be a stone heavier within a month.
One criticism I have is that the staff don't seem to understand stock rotation. I've found out of date products on far more instances than I should have done. I always point it out to the staff, so that customers who are less OCD about date checking than me aren't accidentally poisoned. So if you're buying anything, check the dates on it. Or take your chances, hey, it's only blue mould right.
Staff are friendly. I really hate to say it, but as Tiny Tescos go, this is a good one, much better than its pal along the road in the Finnieston strip. read more
