Difficult to access and credit card needed to pay parking fees. I was really glad that I used the nice rest area on I-65 before I arrived. There are 18 port-potties, only 7 operational on my visit (12/27/22). There's an upscale strip mall with a pizza place which I suppose will let you use their restroom. The view from your car is the overhead interstate transition bridges and the line of potties... ugh. There's no shade or a place for dogs. read more

You have to pay to park in order to charge. Normally it would be $3, but there was an event when we were here and parking was $20. Not validated! Do yourself a favor and drive 8 minutes to Greenwise Market. There are Tesla Superchargers there. There is also a Starbucks right there. read more

No issues with the Tesla Supercharger. Just issues with the gated paid parking. There was issues getting out of the gate after charging that took ~30mins to pay and leave. Not the best experience when you're worried about range anxiety when trying to make it to your next supercharger read more

I have used this charging station many times with no problems however today was different. LAZ parking now manages this lot and was charging $20 for Event Day parking. (This lot is close to the Civic Center and a stadium.) The attendant called from the machine into "customer no-service" and they did not care that was I was there to charge my card or even seem to be aware that there was a charger in that lot. They still wanted me to pay $20 to enter the lot. LAZ parking is not even locally based. Cars were piling up behind me as I was speaking to the attendant and customer no-service. I had to make them all back up so I could turn around. Shame on them! read more

My GPS had to work overtime to find this charger. There is a lot of road construction going on. As someone else already mentioned this is located in a PAID parking lot and yes, they expect Tesla owners to pay as well. Lucky for us, they were not collecting as we drove out. Stalls 3A and 3B currently do not work properly. I maxed out at 20KW on both stalls. Also, it's frustrating that you have to pay for entry to the parking lot. On event days, parking is $20, no exception for Tesla owners. read more

Another notsa great Supercharger location in the South. This is located in an Uptown paid parking lot that's not easy to navigate to. Tesla Nav now has the spot more closely marked than Google Maps. Note: there is no access from 24th Street, valet card key only. Good news: lots of restaurants bordering the lot who will validate. And if you're not hungry, there's a nice coffee bar (Octane) next to the Westin. read more

Terrible location. Middle of downtown. Even worse since the whole area has road work- multiple closed roads. How do you even just close a whole section of interstate? Hourly parking fee. Charging station was full and slow. Tesla definitely needs another Supercharger in the city. read more

There are twelve superchargers in this shopping center. There's several restaurants upstairs and a Yard House across the street.

I agree that this is a good option for supercharging with several venues nearby that will validate your parking. So you have to buy a coffee or a sandwich or something in the places adjacent to the lot, but you'd do that if you were stopping for a restroom break at a gas station anyway. The lot is big, well lit, and appears to be safe as it's patrolled by police passing by on either side of the row of chargers. read more

Traveling on the way home from Florida, my family and I stopped at this super charger and lunch. LAZ parking charges all Tesla owners to use their parking lot while charging. There is a sign at the entrance that states parking is validated if you patronize one of the restaurants that the parking lot serves . Upon leaving the restaurant, I was told that the restaurant does not validate. Besides this deceptive practice of stating validation, I had misplaced my parking ticket and the LAZ management required $45 for a lost ticket. As a small parking lot and it being the only Tesla Supercharger in the area for traveling North, I would think the right decision by LAZ would be to override this $45 and charge the minimum fee of $3.00 as they knew I had used the lot to charge my car. With absolutely no thoughtful customer service I recommend Tesla never places any Superchargers in a paid lot especially a LAZ lot. read more

I have been nervous about driving my Tesla to Birmingham because of the reviews of this station online, but thankfully my experience was excellent. It is in the heart of downtown near lots of new restaurants and a great coffee shop (that will validate your parking stub) and just a mile from the new Pizitz Food Hall which is a huge plus. There were plenty of charging stations and it was a very clean safe lot. I was there mid morning for a little over an hour and probably saw six different police cars (even one on a Segway) while waiting. So relieved and excited this is now an option. read more
