Compared to some of the Target stores I visit most often, this location feels a bit smaller. Because of that, the aisles and departments can feel more crowded and condensed. That said, they still carry the grocery items and everyday essentials I typically shop for. On this particular visit, I was shopping with my nephew in the toddler clothing section. While we were able to find a few items, the selection felt somewhat limited compared to locations like Deerfield Beach and Coral Springs. The department also didn't seem quite as organized as those stores. One thing I did appreciate was the number of self-checkout stations available. Even when the store is busy, the checkout process moves relatively quickly. Overall, this is a solid Target location for everyday shopping.

I then went to get cash to play, and at the ATM there were several options to "get" cash. I picked the wrong one, and selected an option that required me to go to the cashier's cage in order to have then check the pin and distribute cash. I find my way to the cashier, and present my situation hoping to quickly get my cash, which I already made into a bigger ordeal than it needed to be. They ask to see my debit card, along with my receipt showing the ATM withdrawal request, along with the $9.95 fee. The request using this card is just like requests where I have used the same card all across the country. This card does not have a "microchip", and because of that the cashier tells me, we will not accept this card and/or charge. We will also not disburse the funds. Despite that their machine allowed the charge to go through in the first place, they ask if I would instead like to use a different card, with a chip, which they would then decide if money was to be disbursed. I ask about the prior transaction, and am told that the request was not fulfilled by them, and that the "hold" on the money I tried to get out would be lifted in 3-4 hours. They said there "was nothing they could do". I had other cards I could use, and I have plenty of money to cover the double hold and charges......but why should I? And why would this business think it OK to reject a charge, that their machine accepted, and then not totally and immediately make me whole in the situation. I should not have to take out $400 just to get the $200 I had hoped to play with...even if only for a couple hours. I doubt the Hard Rock, or related management would go for a transaction if pointed the other direction. They would not allow me to stay in one of their rooms for a couple of hours, only to give it back to them in a few hours as if nothing happened. Sharing as this all went down in the first 30 minutes I was in the place. As far as the Miami area goes, for those traveling to the area, there are far too many other options and places to go, with better customer service, than this place.

They have some name brand retailers along with some lesser-known more boutique style stores. I really enjoy coming here on a Friday or Saturday night and listening to the music at Brimstone. The area is very walkable. Most drivers are courteous when you cross in front of them and they yield to you. In an Ideal World, I think Pembroke Gardens should have an automatic covering for when it is super hot or rainy. That is the downfall of this shopping mecca, several months of the year it is just not fun to come here because of the weather. Parking is another issue. I really wish they would build a parking garage because there is usually a problem finding a parking spot on the weekend. That just puts me and then annoyed state of mind when I'm going to a fun place. Definitely come to Pembroke Gardens when you want a fun and memorable they are night out.
