Stop here if you need to--and you're driving in Alaska, so you may need to. But oh, it wasn't a very good experience on my way from Seward to Homer. . If you managed a gas station and the pump card readers stopped working the day before due to a software update, would you just let dozens of people figure that out individually? Or would you put a few sticky notes at the pumps so people didn't waste time trying different cards and getting frustrated? The staff at Tesoro opted for the former. Long line to pay at the register--partly because they sell ice cream there too. One party was a family with small kids and the parents were explaining what different ice cream flavors and sizes were... by this point, the whole experience was like something out of a comedy. At least I didn't have to be at my destination at a particular time. I bought a cup of ice cream too, but employee workflow and communication was so bad that I was standing there waiting for it while several staff members were standing around because no one picked up the slip of paper to make it. Basically: This was at least a 25-minute stop that should have been a 10-minute stop, including bathroom breaks and food to go at the restaurant in the same building, Cook's Corner (which has its own Yelp page, FYI). Would like to see more employees take some initiative and be more efficient. Basically: I wish QT would expand to Alaska or at least take over employee training. read more

This was a busy place to stop. I used the bathroom so was pleased they had gender Neutral bathrooms so I didn't have to wait in a line to use a "women's" bathroom. As busy as they were it was a quick in and out. read more

Store was great, the little table diner crew was quite purposefully rude. Took 20 minutes to prep 2 sandwiches, set them on the back area when he was done, walked away. Made a snide comment when I asked about the order (about wearing a covid mask). Absolute tool. Cashier forgot I even made an order. First time there, said nothing. If you need a place to pause and get and go, this is it. Fast pull up. Pop in and grab from clear merchandise on the shelves, coffee, heat-n-go food, and such, quick pay and drive away before the song is finished. But don't go to the bathroom, no, just don't do it. Trust me. read more
