The park from North side
Rupayan H.

We visit this park quite often being locals here. BASKETBALL COURT: 7/10. The baskets are a bit rusted and the court itself could use some repair. They recently repaired the benches recently. CHILDREN PLAY AREA: 8/10. They have a decent sized and shaded children play area with wood mulch on the ground. There is also a drinking water fountain nearby. There isn't any restroom nearby, so come prepared. NOISE and AMBIANCE: 9/10. This place a pretty serene as it is nestled amongst a quiet neighborhood and a peaceful community and not located next to a busy road. This is a big plus if you are looking for a quiet time with your family or loved ones. This is also great for kids. DROUGHT FRIENDLINESS: 8/10. They recently stopped watering the entire park everyday to be compliant with Livermore's 50% Water conservation target. They took of the turf from the far South part of the park and replaced it with wood mulch. TREES: 8/10. There are wide varieties of trees from heavy shade trees to wild berry trees. The trees are located near the trail that skirts the park so it provides shade to the people who bike or walk with or without their dogs. PET FRIENDLINESS: 9/10. There are a lot of pet owners visiting the park walking their dogs. There are pet mitt stations along the trail to pick up after your pet. BARBEQUE AREA: 5/10. Very limited. Just a couple of tables. ACCESSIBILITY: 9/10. The park is accessible from all sides except from South where it hugs the housing structures. Other than that, it is accessible from the remaining sides. There is parking along the road side and good amount of parking space for park visitors near the South West side. Overall, this is swell park to relax although it could use some attention for certain parts.

Smaller play structure.

Nice park with a decent amount of shade in the mornings. There is a small area with sand.

There is a flat grassy area to play sports, a running trail and a playground. No bathrooms. Lots of parking.

This was really nice park. I found it on a curated list of best playgrounds. I showed my son a few…read morephotos from several on the list and he picked this one for his destination playground. It has a whimsical theme with giant oversized flowers that act as shade! Plus forest inspired play structures to climb. There was also a musical instrument area for kids to explore. I loved the four person see saw which was very unique! The giant sit and spin was fun for the kids too. I loved that this park had features you don't see just an ordinary park. It made this playground more a destination playground as I mentioned. It was worth the drive. I wouldn't drive an hour away for it, but 30 minutes was worth it. It was also very quiet when we went on a Sunday. We easily got a shaded picnic table to eat our lunch we had packed and then hit the playground. The playground was very clean too. The only down side was that the exercise equipment had some broken machines which was unfortunate, but all of the playground equipment was in working order. Both my kids enjoyed the park so it's great for a wide range of ages, even toddlers.

Parking is in a lot near the basketball courts and a short walk around the library. We especially like to come here for the shade!

And it was beautiful so who really won? I don't recall which trail we did, but the views were nice. There's not much shade along the trail we took so I'd say wear a hat if you can and stay hydrated. Once in a while, we saw a random cow walking along which was cool. This place is popular - we saw a lot of families and bicyclists when we were here.

What a beautiful way to begin the Lunar New Year…read more Yesterday, we hiked 4.2 miles at Del Valle Regional Park, and it felt like the perfect start to my new year goals. The trail was absolutely beautiful, even with a light drizzle along the way. Rain or shine, we still show up and that's something I'm really proud of. I'm so happy to say that my stamina is getting stronger with every hike. Each time we head out, I can feel the progress. The hills feel a little less intimidating, the miles go by a little easier, and my confidence grows a little more. When we reached the top and looked out over Lake Del Valle, the view was breathtaking, calm, peaceful, and completely worth the climb. Moments like that remind me why I keep pushing forward. Growth doesn't happen overnight, but step by step, mile by mile, I'm getting better. And thank you, Hubby, for always motivating me and believing in me. Having someone by my side who encourages me to keep going makes all the difference. Here's to starting the Lunar New Year strong and continuing to chase every goal ahead of us.
