My closest store. Staff isn't outgoing but always polite. Great wine inventory and decent deli.

After my car politely informed me…read morethat I had about 30 miles before I would be searching for a gas station on foot, I made an emergency stop at Buc-ee's in Bastrop, TX. Note to self...if forced to choose between power shopping with friends and putting gas in your car, choose the gas. Everything is bigger in Texas, and Buc-ee's may be the poster child for that saying. From the moment you pull into the parking lot, the scale is impressive. Rows upon rows of gas pumps stretch across multiple sections, making it feel more like a fueling complex than a gas station. OMG!!! Step inside, and the experience gets even bigger. The place is enormous, with bright lighting, oversized signage, and enough merchandise to keep you wandering through the store for hours. Buc-ee's branding is everywhere, from water bottles and tumblers to outdoor furniture and clothing. One of the first things you'll notice is how incredibly clean everything is, especially the restrooms. My favorite feature? The red and green occupancy lights above each stall, eliminating the awkward lean-and-peek maneuver to check for availability. The food selection is a major highlight and far beyond what you'd expect from a typical travel stop. Fresh barbecue, brisket tacos, sandwiches, and the famous Beaver Nuggets are at your fingertips. There is also an astonishing selection of jerky, both packaged and freshly sliced, along with endless snacks, sweets, and drinks. And yes, they even have an in-store tortilla station. I definitely wasn't expecting that. Buc-ee's stands out for its sheer variety. Beyond the food, you'll find clothing for adults and children, swimwear, home goods, souvenirs, gifts, and enough Texas-themed merchandise to outfit an entire ranch. It feels like a travel center, gift shop, convenience store, and mini department store all rolled into one-stop shopping. Needless to say, Buc-ee's is a whole vibe. What started as a quick gas stop turned into an unexpectedly entertaining detour, and I thoroughly enjoyed my swing through.

The gas prices are lower than most, and the restrooms are clean, which are definitely positives. However, I've started to notice that food prices are getting too high for my budget. Additionally, I've observed a decline in the quality of some items they make in-store, like the BBQ sandwiches. Furthermore, this location isn't the easiest to exit if you're heading east on Highway 71. I hope they keep their prices competitive, but I'm seeing more competition around them, so I might start trying other places. Ultimately, price is the most important factor for me.

It's big, friendly, busy, and a must stop if you're driving on a Texas highway. Buc-ee's is also known for having super clean bathrooms, which makes it a must visit. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Facility, Return) Atmosphere - If Walmart and 7/11 had a baby, it would be Buc-ee's. If you're visiting on a weekend, expect Buc-ee's to be very busy, inside and out. As you walk in, you'll be amazed that this is not your ordinary gas station. Buc-ee's has a BBQ station, sweets (like fudge), a section dedicated to beef jerky, drinks, merch, and even clothes. And in the center there will be (lots of) people lined up to use their clean bathrooms. 1 Star. Service - The staff is very nice and extremely efficient. There are tons of people to help you check out at each entrance, so what looks like a long line moves extremely fast. Seriously, you get in and out in no time. 1 Star. Facility - The BBQ sandwiches are legit, the Beaver Nuggets make a fun gift, you can buy any snack item you want, and the ICEE machines are always full. But for me, I never leave Buc-ee's without buying the Candied Pecans. The sweet, warm nuts are packaged in a paper cone that fits perfectly in my hand, so it's a perfect snack on the last leg home. But I can't stress this enough, the Buc-ees bathrooms are very clean. There are multiple stalls, so you never have to wait long. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. I look forward to visiting Buc-ee's on every single road trip I take. Even if I don't need gas or need to use the bathroom, Buc-ee's is a welcome stop. 1 Star.

This was our first time bringing our family here, and unfortunately, the cashier made our visit a horrible one. If you want to be treated with suspicion and laughed at after you leave, then this is the place for you. We left feeling embarrassed, disappointed, and unwelcome. This store is arranged in standard QuikTrip fashion. Depending on which side you enter you can choose fountain drinks or coffee drinks on tap on the immediate wall. There is fresh food in an open refrigerated section and a variety of hot foods. There is also a kitchen with a kiosk screen from which ordering can take place. There are fresh donuts and related pastries in the morning, which are discounted at night. Like other convenience stores you can find candy and generic sundries and groceries. I've just come in for the drinks. The fountain drinks have the right carbonation. I also like that they offer coffee on tap; it's unique. Both the cold brews are tasty, as well as the hot coffee offerings. And, if you want to sweeten your coffee, they tend to have 6-10 flavored creamers available for this use. And of course, they have the good personal service other convenience stores don't. You are greeted and thanked. Also, one person working can handle checking out people from both sides of the register. The fuel pumps are located a decent distance away from the store and are spaced well apart for vehicles to maneuver around. The pumps are also very modern.
