From what I heard, the old txk airport does not compared to this new one! My first flight from here was a great experience. I love the quaint and quiet atmosphere. Everything is clean and inviting there is only one baggage claim L O L. The wait times are extremely minimal and just be mindful. There are no real concession food options only vending machines. I love the added touch of a fireplace and semi lounge seating.

Fabulous Airport, relaxing, clean, friendly and professional people. Easy check in-out

There was no "no parking signs" but I got a $10 fine, it's ok. I support TxK airport 100%.

Wow, just wow. I thought College Station had the smallest airport I've been too! I was wrong. The Texarkana Airport doesn't even open up security until 10 minutes before boarding your plane, thats totally rad. There is something about this nostalgic airport that makes me love flying. If it isn't the old style airliners and the Embraer ERJ-140 narrowbody's that only fly to Dallas out of this airport with the old style American paint job, it's the staff who know everyone. Parked in the front but got a $10 fine on the windshield for no parking for rental cars only but no signs in the area which make it even better. The smell, the chairs, the vending machines as the only food option and 1 rental car, and for TSA PRE they call you first to go through security before normies, lol. Great airport. It's also way cheaper to fly out of here than Little Rock half the time!

All ten feet of security. In a sleepy little airport, that's all they need!

Definitely got my daughter home for holiday. My daughter was terrified due the small plane and turbulence due to storm. Yikes!

What kinda clown downgrades a rating for an airport, when it's the airline they're cheesed off with?

East Texas Regional Airport - Gotta love small airports!

I wrote my original review seven years ago, and I wish I could say things have improved overall --…read morebut unfortunately, it's still a mixed experience. To recap, the airport itself is nice. It's small, easy to get through, looks recently renovated, and the convenience of free parking is a huge perk. Traveling directly into Longview should be a smooth, stress-free experience, and I've always wanted to support our tiny local airport. My original two-star rating came from the TSA staff at the time. They were rude, unprofessional, and patting down nearly every single passenger who wasn't PreCheck. It felt unnecessary in a place with barely any foot traffic. The good news is that TSA has definitely loosened up and is much more friendly now, which I genuinely appreciate. That part has gotten better. Unfortunately, the issues just shifted elsewhere. The past few years, flights have been consistently troublesome -- delays, confusion, and construction (allegedly) that never seems to end. The part that's most disappointing now is the American Airlines staff. The rudeness that used to come from TSA feels like it transferred over to them. No updates on delays, very little friendliness, and an obsession with carry-on bag size that borders on ridiculous. I've watched them shut down sweet older ladies over a bag being an inch too big, while somehow ignoring other passengers breaking the same rules. It's inconsistent and unnecessary. This airport has so much potential. It really could be a great travel hub for East Texas. But after years of trying to make it work, I've pretty much given up and now just fly out of Shreveport or Dallas instead. I truly hope it improves someday, because I want to love this airport... but right now, it's just not it.

If I was a self-made ka-jillionaire, or, if I had been just a liiiiiittle bit more future-minded,…read morelike some of my fraternity brothers at Louisiana Tech University, and majored in professional aviation, I would so own my own personal aircraft of some sort, and fly out of this tiny, manageable airport just on the outskirts of central downtown Shreveport. As it is, I enjoy visiting this hub for travelers, aviators, air hobbyist, business peeps, and riverboat casino folk from the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area, all of greater flight means than I. There is a fantastic little diner within this airport, called the Cloud 9 Cafe, that serves up tasty, fancy, and yet quite affordable grub for those coming and going around here, and taking to the skies. There is also the occasional historical airplane display that will occur here that I also find of great interest. So, if you like planes, if you like good food, and you ever want to merge the two, swing by this nice little airport for a visit.
