It is almost laughable, how easy the experience is with this airport. The airport is so lovely and well decorated. To say that there was ease with the security process would be an understatement. Do not plan to get there and grab a meal before. I read that there were only vending machines and honestly, it was so early and I was lacking caffeine and did not notice whether there were vending machines or not. I think this airport was recently renovated. Very clean and new. There is no tsa pre-check here. No dining options either, only vending machines. Very small airport and easy to get around. Security check is so quick! The decoration here is like a lodge in a winter resort. Very interesting. I like how the workers come up to you and take your carry on luggage from you to check in! From what I heard, the old txk airport does not compared to this new one! My first flight from here was a great experience. I love the quaint and quiet atmosphere. Everything is clean and inviting there is only one baggage claim L O L. The wait times are extremely minimal and just be mindful. There are no real concession food options only vending machines. If you don't mind having your flight changed (delayed) for hours upon hours every time you fly, then this airport will suit you fine. The service, cleanliness and facilities of the airport are fine. But it's consistent unreliability is unacceptable. I stopped using after being let down by them one too many times. I now always drive to and from Dallas or Shreveport to travel. The car travel time to either airport is worth knowing my flight will arrive and depart on time. read more

This past Sunday I got to the airport at 5 am for a 6 am flight and our plane had issues. Came back for our rescheduled 10 am flight and we got bumped off because they didn't want to fix their mistake with the passenger's bags. So they sent a plane out with people who only had carry-ons. (The manager made that call ) It's not American Airlines folks it's THIS AIRPORT STAFF. While being bumped I called the American Airlines customer service line and even the rep was shocked at the sheer laziness of the crew to bump 40 or so people when we were ticketed for said flight. So instead of being home at 10 am, I got in a 730 pm. And here's the kicker, I had an 8-month-old with me. If possible I recommend flying out of Shreveport. Yes, it's an hour's drive but they never have these staff issues. read more

I have never ever ventured into an airport so small, yet I have never been more excited to return and tell others. You can make it here straight off I-49, 1 turn onto the off ramp and straight ahead to the airport. Drive in a circle and pull up right to the door. Rentals also right at the entry. Walk in and TSA is to the left. TSA willing to help unpack and the AA gate agent was at the end of the TSA line. Whhaaattt?!?! You'll walk to the littler plane but everyone was super sweet, professional and the restrooms could improve but I highly recommend because as a regional airport they are doing well. read more

Wow, just wow. I thought College Station had the smallest airport I've been too! I was wrong. The Texarkana Airport doesn't even open up security until 10 minutes before boarding your plane, thats totally rad. There is something about this nostalgic airport that makes me love flying. If it isn't the old style airliners and the Embraer ERJ-140 narrowbody's that only fly to Dallas out of this airport with the old style American paint job, it's the staff who know everyone. Parked in the front but got a $10 fine on the windshield for no parking for rental cars only but no signs in the area which make it even better. The smell, the chairs, the vending machines as the only food option and 1 rental car, and for TSA PRE they call you first to go through security before normies, lol. Great airport. It's also way cheaper to fly out of here than Little Rock half the time! read more

I love airports - airports mean wi-fi, weird little side shops, truly quality people-watching, AND, they mean that either you're going somewhere cool, picking up or dropping off a friend or relative who came for a great visit, or you're coming home from somewhere cool. All good things! For this one, scratch that shops bit. This airport is roughly the size of a shoebox, with a single atrium, a teeny-tiny two lane security check, and I believe only one runway. The planes that fly in and out of here are small and cool, if slightly rougher riding than bigger ones. This particular teeny tiny airport also boasts exceptional service, very VERY fast security checks, and a very reliable schedule. For those looking for it, they also have a Hertz car rental, but I believe that's the only one. I personally frequent this airport because - aside from the joy of visiting my lovely in-laws :D - most of the flights I take out of state hit Dallas before going anywhere else, and even with the commute to and from Texarkana, flying from Texarkana to Dallas is way, way cheaper than going Little Rock to Dallas. If they had food (any food at all...) I would give them five stars, but for doing what airports are supposed to do, and doing it well, they get a solid four. read more

Super small airport with basically one gate serviced by American and United. Arrivals: car rental in the very small area with baggage claim and security. Departures: You don't need to be at the airport more than an hour before your plane departs since they don't even open security until then. There is a small lounge in the same room as baggage claim. A larger lounge area is to the right of check in. There is no food service, just vending machines. The airport is perfect for the limited service it offers. Flying here saves me the 2+ hr drive from DFW or the 1+ hr drive from Lafayette and that is a good thing. read more

Small airport makes for fast security check. However, EVERYTHING comes out of pockets. And toothpaste, creams, gels, food, and more items, have to come out of your personal bag and carry on bag. Even if tsa approved. They have to come out to be inspected. My carry on was still physically checked too. You are allowed to bring food thru security. worst experience ever. super rude employees. they wouldn't let me and my younger sister on our flight because i didn't have a negative covid test when i had information that stated that the rules had changed and i didn't have to have one. they wouldn't listen to me or my dad when he was on the phone with them. my dad called the number that they had told him to call to schedule a new flight and they told him that they had got the email about the rule change days prior. we got free plane tickets in dallas because they messed up our trip which was good but wasted two days of our trip, all of the employees that treated us bad deserve to be fired and we will never attempt to fly there again. read more

This is a very limited service airport. Two airlines service it: American and Continental. Each of them has two flights a day: One at 7 am, another about 4:55/5:05 pm. There may be one more in the middle, but that is it. If you are actually doing work during the day, this makes it pretty hard to get out of there. The staff is nice, but I miss my 5:05 pm flight, and this is how: I rush down to the airport at 4:30 pm. I am sitting at the counter, but no one comes. I try to check in electronically, but the computer says it is too close to depature time. Finally I go over to the car rental desk and ask. The airline rep is boarding the plane -- there is only one rep to man the ticket counter and the security area. I can't get to her because she is on the other side of security and they won't let me in because I do not have a ticket. I don't remember this scene from Catch-22 but I am pretty sure it must have been in there somewhere. They tell me to wave, which I do, and she sees me and makes a "wait a minute" gesture, then I watch her close out the flight and meander over to me to tell me it is too late and the next flight isn't until the morning. She pre-tickets me for that flight. I find my way back to the hotel. Next morning: I get there about a half an hour ahead of time. The same airline rep is there, waiting at the front door of the airport for me, semi-frantic. I have been selected for special security screening. She is worried I'm not going to finish in time and have to wait until later in the day. The whole deal, look through my bags, pat me down, etc. The entire airport has maybe 10 people in it, it only has prop planes, but I am a threat. Eventually I make it on plane, and have successfully eluded any future trips there. read more

Small. ass. airport. This place cracked me up as I am used to LAX. Hello tiny Texarkana! The airport has one, yes one, terminal. That being said the security line is a piece of cake. I arrived 50 minutes before my flight and I was good to go. You board the plane via ramp on the tarmac, which was kind of fun. Also, anything you have that is larger than a purse will be gate checked. Also, there is no in flight beverage service. Sometimes the flight attendant will offer water, but that is about it. Back to the terminal- there is no bar or restaurant. There are vending machines that do not take credit cards. Plan accordingly. read more
