I wrote my original review seven years ago, and I wish I could say things have improved overall -- but unfortunately, it's still a mixed experience. To recap, the airport itself is nice. It's small, easy to get through, looks recently renovated, and the convenience of free parking is a huge perk. Traveling directly into Longview should be a smooth, stress-free experience, and I've always wanted to support our tiny local airport. My original two-star rating came from the TSA staff at the time. They were rude, unprofessional, and patting down nearly every single passenger who wasn't PreCheck. It felt unnecessary in a place with barely any foot traffic. The good news is that TSA has definitely loosened up and is much more friendly now, which I genuinely appreciate. That part has gotten better. Unfortunately, the issues just shifted elsewhere. The past few years, flights have been consistently troublesome -- delays, confusion, and construction (allegedly) that never seems to end. The part that's most disappointing now is the American Airlines staff. The rudeness that used to come from TSA feels like it transferred over to them. No updates on delays, very little friendliness, and an obsession with carry-on bag size that borders on ridiculous. I've watched them shut down sweet older ladies over a bag being an inch too big, while somehow ignoring other passengers breaking the same rules. It's inconsistent and unnecessary. This airport has so much potential. It really could be a great travel hub for East Texas. But after years of trying to make it work, I've pretty much given up and now just fly out of Shreveport or Dallas instead. I truly hope it improves someday, because I want to love this airport... but right now, it's just not it. read more

Our family & company no longer travels out of this airport. We drive all the way to DFW. We literally live 20 minutes from this airport but the service is so disrespectful that I refuse to step foot in there. Also because the rude agents work for American Airlines, we changed airlines as well! Being talked down to and treated like a child makes the 2+ hour drive worth it! We frequently travel between 6 states and 2 Countries several times a year and have never encountered such horrible service! One bad apple really does ruin it for the bunch! Don't blink because if you do you might miss this place. It's a small airport so you're not going to find restaurants and shops like you find at the big airports. The nice thing is you're also not going to find the lines and the crowds like you do at the big airports. read more

If you're flying without a luggage, everything is quick and easy. Short, efficient and reliable. I will fly out of GGG again

0 STARS!! It's obvious that no one at this airport works as a team to create a smooth experience for passengers, and absolutely no one has any customer service training. Beginning with Howard, the American Airlines representative who was anything but nice, helpful, or friendly. He could have been my first and only stop in this maddening series of events but he didn't care enough to even weigh my bag which is one of his main duties!! Security (TSA) went out of their way to make things as painful as possible and took as much time as they possibly could going through my things! Then, the gate clerk who is also anything but helpful simply said, "Your bag is too heavy, you're not flying today" and turned me around sending me home. This is where Howard could have done his job and saved me that shock and dismay. The lack of professionalism, organization, and basic courtesy made this the worst airport experience I've ever had. These people need training in all aspects of their jobs but especially customer service! If you have any other travel options...Tyler isn't too far away, neither is Shreveport, I highly recommend going to either of them and avoiding this airport altogether. read more

Fast and quick lines with no crowds. It was clean, nice people and they're just lots of things to see.

Pat at the front is the laziest woman on earth ! I got there in plenty of time and because she was to sleepy to enter my information in she told me and 5 other people behind me to get anthor flight out ! What the idiot doesn't understand stand We we're all there on time .. she has no ideal how much money she cost me and the poor people behind me. I would understand I'd we got there late but we were all early . She was having a bad day and unfortunately she took her laziness and bad mood out on innocent people that are blue collar workers ! Why do American Airlines hire people like this ! We are paying customers that are keeping lazy people like her a job Pay the 100 dollars extra and get a Uber Pat has no ideal what kind of financial loss I had by her telling me she didn't have time to log in my information. The airport itself is actually a gem in the middle of nowhere. It's updated and the workers are friendly. I rented a car from Avis and it was surprisingly simple and easy to rent and return. The only problem is that American Airlines is the ONLY airline that flies here. If it weren't for that I would give this folksy little airport 5 stars. The workers here do EVERYTHING! The same person checks you in, loads your baggage, cleans the plane and scans your boarding pass! read more

The little Airport that could. Service here is very good, atmosphere is quiet and small town-ish. Parking is free and that's always a plus but it is limited to the size in front the airport. They do have a alternate parking section slightly further away. The airport has recently been renovated so all the chairs and amenities are new and comfortable including free Wi-Fi. There's a lot of private service here but only one commercial airline. American Airline. read more
