It wasn't worth the drive to this small town and I'll inform my director how pointless it was. The sports complex had filthy bathrooms poor to the start, the nets were at two different heights, and the hosts seem to control who referred and who didn't. Lots of bias there. Snacks and concessions ran out fast, the gym has awkward boundary lines too. Not usav legal. With that, Southern swing (hosts), put on a tournament for a few teams so their elite 14s team can stomp on others. Seems like a waste when lsq is going on in dallas. Their director has no idea about redirection rules of a volleyball hitting a low hoop or etc. Overall, it was a big waste of time going to a mediocre facility

I take all my continuing education classes here, and they are awesome. The instructors really want…read moreyou to learn and continuing education classes seem to be less expensive than other Junior or Community Colleges in South Texas. I will be starting classes for credit here soon, but as far as continuing education classes go, you don't need to deal with the hassle of going through the whole admissions process and getting approved. You just fill out the form for the class you want, pay for it, and take the class. That simple. I do all my CPR and Continuing Educations for my CNA and Medication Aide. I can't really say anything bad about this school as everyone is very genuine and nice here.

Parking tickets, paid garage parking if you don't have time to take a bus across town to get to the campus and hike to class. When I was attending, the construction was so bad on the roads I popped a tire on a rock and was stranded for 4 hours. Professors are absolutely terrible. They are condescending and rude. The course work is absolutely ridiculous across majors, a lot of professors don't clearly define projects but then grade you as if they did. Healthcare Administration program professors mock students and spread misinformation, try to make students fearful of their future careers and financial courses are useless to the job, an old man talking about his "knowledge" about healthcare finances. Required reading: the book he wrote. Project management course, I worked on a commercial for the school, professor took off points because she didn't like the commercial and said it wasn't "relevant" to healthcare administration because I didn't include stock images of an administrative job. I had to call professors out regularly for their unethical and insufficient grading. All of this during my two years there, and I had at least two professors openly mock me as if I was dumb. The last straw was them telling me to work 40 hour weeks in residency that I had to secure from their "approved list" with no pay or promise of a job in the end. Changed my major the next week. One professor told me I would be "working at McDonald's" if I changed my major and another mocked a response I had to the lesson in a sarcastic tone both in front of the class. I felt totally embarrassed and absolutely alone, overworked and overwhelmed while attending this school. I wish I could get my money and time back from this university, but in the very least have my degree that I worked so hard for. One psychology History & Theory course in particular held me back from graduating because professor gave over 100 assignments during the semester and took off points because she didn't agree with your opinions, on opinion based assignments. Begged her and asked what I could do to bring my grade up multiple times during the semester and she refused consistently and failed me in the end. Tail end of COVID. $1000 to retake the course. I spent more time trying explain myself to these professors than I ever should have as a college student, it's their job to grade properly and set students up for success, instead they use their position to bully students. They withheld my degree over this one class and the professor has been poorly reviewed for years! Over 120 credit hours earned and thousands of dollars, please send me my diploma!

Student veterans where targeted and harassed by…read moreuniversity staff and it took 5 yrs and multiple congressional inquiries to force school management to address the problems, then management tried to blame student veterans for there incompetince. University leadership is as effective as a broken condom. In 3 yrs there where multiple student suicides and university leadership tried to pretend the situations never happed even when students expressed concern. Several of the math and science professors can't speak English and they don't teach critical thinking, simply put most professors have 0 teaching ability. The university will fire a teacher and then blame the students for the poor performance in grades. Why pay a university like TAMUCC to teach yourself? TAMUCC will charge you for everything under the sun like California taxation. If you are a veteran find another university for your benefits.

Many of the displays are suitable for young children through teenagers contemplating career options. One such display is "Ask a scientist," where you can choose a student or professional and watch as they talk about their career choice. The center is only open Tuesday-Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm, so plan your visit accordingly.

Established decades ago as the graduate studies school of ocean sciences, this small facility does…read moremainly marine biological research. I have visited since I was a kid and at one time pictured myself living and studying here. It was damaged in a recent hurricane so the visitor's area which has educational displays of the flora and fauna in the area as well as, aquarium examples of local fish, is temporarily closed. Research from here has been instrumental in far-reaching things such as the resurgence of the green sea turtle, mitigation of long-term pollution impact etc. They have an area with a boardwalk that has re-established the natural flora to give you an idea of what this coastal region looks like undisturbed. If you are new to Texas this is definitely a good honest introduction to the Texas coast.
