After contacting the county clerk by email concerning my request, he/she sent a link for payment. Once the payment is submitted, the receipt and documents are sent via email. A little longer drawn out process possibly due to being a larger county in population. Who knows? I've performed this process with other counties, and it's pretty much the same procedure. These people seem on top of their game and would gladly contact them in the future.

It took awhile for the two bailiffs to process our group. They are responsible for maintaining security in the courtroom and ensuring that appropriate courtroom decorum is maintained. The judge reminded us of our qualifications and exemptions. Since I am the care taker for a teenager I was able to get an exemption and was released. It was mixed feeling as I would have liked to fulfill my civic duty. I was impressed by the judge and the entire process. I was excited to serve as I became American in El Paso eight years ago!

First time on jury duty ever in all my 30 years of life, but especially since getting my…read morecitizenship 7 years ago. I had no idea what to expect! I did however start worrying that either A) i would be stuck on trial for weeks B) report late for my summons and be fined, only to be summoned again or C) look like a fool for being the only person bringing their lunch as the summons slip suggested. Well luckily only option C applied lol. And everything else was surprisingly smooth! Except for finding parking where these jackasses double park so as not to get their car scratched. The parking in their garage was paid for at least in exchange for your summons slip. It was a bit of a lag waiting to either be dismissed or assigned to a case. Report time was 9AM but we didnt get assigned until close to 930. Whatever i guess. We're on the Court's time, not ours. So we follow through with our assignment to one of the District Court rooms. Getting passed security was a long process since there was only 1 lane of putting your bag through the surveillance machine and to walk through the metal detector. There was 100s of us required to report. We were lucky to get to the court room just in time to call us to our assigned juror panel number. The juror check in room and the court room both smelled like vomit. That subtle acidic smell that lingered in the air. And I was getting super annoyed that we didnt get to leave until close to 2PM for lunch. At first it started off as only a short break by 115ish and they were trying to determine if it was lunch time or to continue with the voir dire. Thank god they couldnt even continue anymore with the case and discharged us all with our fatty $6 check. Guess ill hit up the Value Menu! Lol but thankfully no need since i had my lunch at the ready! It probably wasnt the worst case scenario.... see what i did there? Lol but im sure they could have planned out their agenda better.

Me and my youngest kiddos really enjoy this library, especially the storytimes which includes book…read morereading, storytelling, singing, dancing and crafts! Bernadette is amazing and I really appreciate her efforts. I'm not sure how much planning goes into their sessions, but she is an educated natural! After storytime they have crafts and she's always giving pointers to parents regarding child development and fine motor skills. Moreover, she's considerate. After craft time she gives out stickers to children when they show her their completed work. Well one time, she learned that we didn't celebrate Halloween and went and requested alternative stickers for us. My mama heart was moved, as that wasn't necessary and we're used to respectfully not partaking in the like. We still enjoyed the Fall pumpkin craft. This library is a great location at a park that has a splash pad (that works during the summer). There are a couple of picnic tables under an awning. Plenty of grass (bring a blanket if you don't have allergies!) There are 2 playgrounds structures in the same vicinity (big kid and toddler). Easy to make a fun, inexpensive day out of it and then be back home for a nap hehe. I've picked up Little Caesar's, headed here and let my kids play and eat. I noticed folks come watch the fireworks at this park during 4th of July also. So there's another option. The library has calendars that you can request or snap a picture of to enjoy all they do. So many forget about these free resources for all ages we have around the corner. Online too! Check it out.

I came mostly for the butterbeer and also signed up my sister in law and her teenager. They just moved to El Paso and live so close to this library that has all these cool free programs, especially for teens, I wanted them to check it out. The instructors were so patient and had all the supplies and timing mapped out. We really enjoyed the pacing and I was so stressed outs since I'm a rule follower and art is subjective, but they made me feel so comfortable and I was even complimented on my "splatters" which is harder than it sounds. I understand why most private paints and sips involve w(h)ine. If it wasn't so far and fighting Far East traffic sucks, I would attend more, it's a fantastic program for teens and those who live close by should really take advantage. It's free clean and supervised fun for your teens. You have to RSVP though and they fill up fast. They mentioned the next paint and sip is about Stranger Things. Sculptures tastefully down leading up to the entrance. Then when you open the grand, opened area you see a larger than life draped USA flag. The TSA lines start down stairs. You don't go upstairs unless you have a boarding pass. There were lines already for regular boarding and for TSA Prescreen. I heard NO yelling. Every TSA agent that wanted to say something to someone, looked them in the eye and in a normal and respectful tone, said it. I believe that the TSA agents are a good representation of the average personality in that area. I'd like to come back. Yesterday we walked 3 miles for dinner. The roads were clean. Drivers were respectful. Everyone we spoke to was polite. Love it!

Yes, there will be lines, yes there will be waiting but not near as bad as many other airports. Now, yes wear a mask, keep your distance, take off your mask momentarily to show your face so it may be compared to your ID. Yes, you will have to take off your shoes, leave all your electronics and carry-on bag on a big tray for the search detector leaving you a bit vulnerable but its all good, we all who travel often do this things. We are use to it, we do them all for our own safety. Yup. The key is that El Paso International Airport TSA team makes this process faster and smoother than any other. Just follow the guidelines and you'll be fine.
