This places is a hidden oasis of brunch goodness…read more My mom has been badgering me for years to try CSFW's brunch and I finally decided to make a reservation for us to have brunch as a belated Mother's day treat. As mentioned in the other reviews, the cost is $16.95 pp. When they seat you, you get a choice of three different entree's (i chose the seafood cake with Orzo, my mom chose the grilled pork chop with polenta) along with fresh made bread, homemade fabulous strawberry lemon marmalade, and flavored butters. In addition to that, you have access to the various food stations. They have a salad and soup station, an omelet station, a pasta station, and a dessert station. They provide you with basic beverages such as coffee, iced tea, orange juice - but you can also BYOB so making your own mimosas are definitely an option. I could go on an on about how wonderful my meal and experience was - i really cant say enough but here's a short version: My seafood cake was heavenly. it consisted of crab, shrimp, and cod. it was mostly seafood and didn't require along of binders. I was seriously disappointed that it was gone so quickly. Keep in mind, your entree is more of a small plate, however with all the other goodies at the stations you'll definitely leave stuffed. The soup i got was a corn chowder that was excellent. Of course, you cant go wrong with an omelet! it was fluffy and perfectly cooked. I passed on the pasta station because i was getting too full and I didn't want to miss out on dessert. I loved how all of the staff was eager to talk about the food, process, etc. Their service was impeccable and made our experience very memorable. They even had a guy there playing the acoustic guitar. If you love food and love being around people who enjoy discussing ingredients and techniques this place is for you. Heck, even if you just want to eat and chill this place is for you! Make sure you call ahead for a reservation. Also: i would consider this place more kid-tolerant than kid-friendly.

Yum! Great brunch experience!…read more There are a half dozen (or so) stations set up including made-to-order omelets, pancakes, salads, soups, pasta & desserts. You also get to order from a menu of seasonal entrees. All delicious. Brunch includes tea, coffee & juice for $16.95 pp. I dined with a group of girls and brought in a cooler with champagne & grapefruit juice, which I recommend doing. Service was excellent.

Read my google review about day instructor Miss J. I called…read morethe office and asked to switch schedules from day to weekend, was told ok by administrator Joyce. I asked Joyce to let me know if I was on track with chapters homework etc with transition. she replied I'll message instructor (Debra) and find out and call you later. Never heard back from admin Joyce I called in and left vm. when I started weekend school , instructor Debra relayed admin did not reach out to me regarding you When I asked. Debra says I'm glad you're in my class now you'll like it better. She began relaying negative things about day instructorMiss J. There was clearly a conflict between the 2 but didn't know what about. I went to Debra ,at her desk ,about an extra credit assignment that Miss J gave the day students. I had completed it and showed Debra she replied she doesn't know anything about it , it wasn't offered her weekend students, she's not fittin to deal with it. she told me I could reach out to her myself. I said ok. I asked Debra for her contact information she did not provide it. An incident happened with the classes printer not connecting to internet , Debra said she believes that Miss J was doing it on purpose. I said can you just text her and ask her for steps to connect? She again said no she not fittin to deal with her cause she know herself and she'll mouth off. She elaborated to the class that she grew up mouthy and fighting her whole life, being kicked out of school and having cops called on her at her work place. I'm glad she was transparent though. I sent Miss J a professional email asking about the extra credit assignment and also ask for her assistance in connecting the printer for weekend class to use. Debra was having students drive in on off day after graduation to pick up certificate that only Miss J could print out cause she didn't have time to deal with her. Very unprofessional that instructors put each other down to students and over something as trivial as a printer. Petty nonsense!!! i send email to Miss J she refuses to respond , Debra reads the email (because it apparently went to both instructors) and addresses me in front of entire class. "You're not fittin to make me look stupid sending the email" (that she told me to send) to the other instructor, I tried to respond, I did what you instructed me but couldn't get it out. Debra interrupted overtalked embarrassed me with her outburst in front of entire class. Her voice was stern. she was completely out of line to discuss a trivial email that she blatantly refused to handle and try and humiliate me discussing it publicly. our class went over to skills lab and she repeated her outburst in front of entire class again.because of second outburst , I got up and walked out to my car as I was having anxiety ptsd symptoms. (I had a former African American woman with same temperament as instructor Debra assault me verbally and grab my arm), I do not feel safe with demeaning outburst designed to put another individual down because of pride. Given Instructor Debra's honesty of her violent past and temper and multiple statements that she's not dealing with anything it was not safe for me to move forward finishing the program. Not once did the school reach out to find out why I didn't return. This is probably one of the most unprofessional experiences I have ever had in a school/workplace setting.

I stayed to watch the entire session and I was extremely impressed. Edwin really engaged the girls and made them think about their safety. He taught situational awareness and had them do several hours of hand to hand self defense moves. Most of these girls have never hit anything, so for them fight to protect themselves was very empowering. I learned many moves that my own self defense class didn't teach me. I would recommend this class to anyone wanting a refresher and all parents wanting to give their kids some knowledge on what to do if they are attacked. Edwin and Terry were great instructors and the girls were so pumped up leaving the studio. Money and time well spent!

They have been in business a long time and do all kinds of classes, self defense, wrestling, a weapons class, children's classes. We learned so many valuable things in a short period of time. Everything we learned may save our life one day. I think everyone should take these classes. It's very important. And the Texas Defense Academy is very professional. They are kind and welcoming and make you feel comfortable, remember your name and care about each person and commit to help each person learn at their pace. It was a wonderful experience.
