We are visiting from out of town on work business and my son started to not feel well the night before. Throughout the day he became progressively worse and I did a search and found Texas Children's Urgent Care. It was around 6:30pm when I booked my appointment online and there were plenty of spots open so that I would have enough time to travel about 18 minutes or so. We felt welcome when we first walked in. There was an officer also seated off to the side and that also made is feel safe. In take was swift and my son felt at ease because the reception desk had all sorts of cool figurines many which would make any 8 year old feel at ease. The wait was basically so short by the time I laid my copay and sat down. my out of state insurance was accepted and we went swiftly into the room. We felt heard and all test were performed with such care. we did not wait soon thereafter for the results and to see the practitioner. A script was called in to a pharmacy not too far from Urgent Care. I was also given a paper script that would come in handy once I got to Walgreens. The care was exceptional. I highly recommend. I was given great advice to watch myself too When caring for my son under the weather. I didn't take any pictured but the office and rooms are new; clean and very kid friendly. read more

We had a wonderful experience here recently. We took our oldest son here on a Saturday night with hopes of avoiding a trip to the emergency room. The staff was incredibly kind and friendly, especially given that we arrived less than an hour before closing time (they were open until 8PM that night). The bedside manner of nurse Madison and Dr Brooks was phenomenal, and they made our sick toddler feel comfortable. The rooms and waiting area were very clean. Our room had a television with the channel list to help keep our toddler distracted. Dr Brooks even followed up the next day with a phone call to check and see how we were doing. Everything was better than expected and I would return here in a heartbeat! read more

We have not been to children urgent care in years because my kids are now grown (11yo) and they rarely get sick. One of them had an eye infection since Thursday last week and visit to his pedi did not improve his eye condition (swollen eyelid with huge bump that has pus in it-infected stye). The warm compress also messed up his eyelid's skin at this point and it's just look raw and painful though it did look like it's about to popped which is great. On Sunday I decided to book (save your spot) with Texas Children's urgent care for a second opinion to see if there's more serious infection going on. Michelle Poole was so wonderful! She's such a great listener and genuinely care about my son. She gave me 2 prescriptions, one to be picked up the same day (antibiotic eyedrop) and the other one is a back up prescription (oral antibiotic) should his eye condition is worsen the next day. I just wish my son's regular pedi was a little more thoughtful last Thursday considering we've been seeing him for more than 10 years. Instead my son had no relief for days until I brought him to Texas children's urgent care. Overall my first visit was a great one. To add, the entire staff was wonderful and kind. The appointment was on time and the office is sparkling clean. While it's too bad that they are not in the network of my health insurance, I won't hesitate to come back here and just utilize our hsa account. Just an update: my son is back to his usual self today. The stye burst the day after our visit and we are still using the eyedrop to make sure the wound will not get re-infected. read more

Front desk lady (Janet) was wonderful, super friendly and accommodating- since I was dealing with a fussy toddler. She was very understandable with us and quickly got us into the rooms for the Dr Quan to see us. He was very thoughtful and also very kind. We highly recommend this facility and the personnel. Hands down the best pediatric urgent care in surrounding Austin. With a medically fragile kid- I've been to many including many times to Dell Children. Here, we were in and out in just 2 hours and that included consultation, diagnosis, antibiotic shot, and IV fluids and meds. All of the staff were super attentive and friendly and absorbed my sons complex medical background to ensure he was getting the most appropriate care. Shout out to nurse Madison and PA Gloria who lead the way the compassionate, efficient care. They have limited hours- but I'd definitely check them out before going elsewhere in Austin. read more

Austin, Texas- Westgate. If I could give zero stars I would. My daughter dislocated her elbow. We called ahead of time to ask if she could be treated there. We were told yes. She was seen by a nurse and two doctors after over an hour, and one x ray then the doctor decided to tell us that she in fact could not be treated here and we needed to go to the ER. We waisted all of that time while she was intense pain and were charged $300. One look from a medical staff and a simple "you guys should take her somewhere else" would have been the correct thing to do. They saw us and saw $$$. Dishonest. Greedy. Incompetent. This place is spectacular! I brought my foster son here for a walk-in appointment and received quick, high quality care. They even had forms at the ready that are required for kids in care (for those that don't know, that is an INCREDIBLY thoughtful gesture that helps to ease a complex process for foster parents!). The office is clean and inviting, complete with cushioned seats and kid-centric tv shows. Everyone we met was friendly and efficient in their work. I brought my son in on his birthday. It was a rough night with heavy congestion and a bad sore throat. Everyone we interacted with was professional and very friendly. At the end of our visit, some of the doctors and office staff came into our room to wish my son a happy birthday! They placed a handful of giveaways in a bag for him. These people get it. They certainly did not have to do this but they did. It really made his day and mine as well. This was already going to be a 5-star review without the staff going the extra yard. This place is kid friendly and made my son feel at ease. Driving your child in for an urgent care visit is usually a dreaded activity. When my daughter dislocated her elbow one Saturday afternoon, she was in excruciating pain and we found ourselves at TX Children's Urgent Care at Westgate. We were met with friendly staff who genuinely seemed to care for my daughter and pulled out all the stops to make her smile. Our care team included: Ian, Krystal, and Maria at the front desk, Kelsey our MA, Mari, Madison, Jesenia as our RN, and Dr. Neill and Dr. Trent were able to help ease my daughter and had a solution to her dislocated elbow. Very friendly and qualified staff, super-fast service, the only pediatric urgent care that is open late in the night. Our toddler had a bad bout of stomach bug and was not feeling well. Doctor Geoff Jackman made her feel comfortable, quickly diagnosed her condition, gave her the necessary remedy and she has sprung back to action within 16 hours!!! This place is simply amazing. We have been here many times and the staff is consistently 100% incredible. It is scary to be a parent during this time of record high pediatric illness with the combination of RSV, FLU, COVID causing national wait times across the US to be extremely long because of the vast amount of sick kids; I see the news and recognize how hard this is! Regardless, the staff at this urgent care are kind and gracious no matter how many patients they have to serve and go above and beyond for every single one. I have been there past closing time still waiting to be seen, and they stay late just to make sure they accommodate the amount of sick kids that need to be seen. Way to go!! read more

Everyone was extremely courteous and caring; no one acted hurried or tried to rush the care we received. Good experience! Our pediatrician recommended this location for after hours minor healthcare concerns. So when our toddler cut open her mouth and we weren't sure whether she'd need stitches, we headed to Texas Children's Urgent Care to be seen. The waiting room is bright and modern with TVs to entertain the kiddos. Check in was easy and we were seen fairly quickly. Definitely beats waiting around at the ER. We were treated by a nurse and a doctor (as opposed to an NP or PA). We left 30 minutes later, popsicle in hand. Everyone was friendly and seemed genuinely interested in helping. Obviously, if your child is experiencing a medical emergency (trouble breathing, unresponsive, overly lethargic, high fever, etc.) head to the closest children's hospital. There was no wait, and I believe if you go on their website you are able to check wait times... The facility is new and very clean. We just moved to Pflugerville from Houston where our daughter was a patient in the Texas Children's Hospital system. We were so happy to see that TCH opened an urgent care in Austin because we always had a great experience at the TCH urgent care in Houston. We went to the new TCH urgent care in Austin this evening and we had a wonderful experience. There was no wait, we were offered water, juice, or soda almost right away. The nurses and medical assistants were top notch, and the doctor was wonderful and helped ease our concerns and laid out a plan for next steps. This commute to this location was 40 minutes for us in pretty awful Austin traffic, but it was worth every minute for quality care that only TCH knows how to deliver. I highly recommend visiting this urgent care if your child needs medical attention. Note that this is not an emergency room, and, like all urgent cares, I don't think they have the equipment needed in serious emergency situations. I always have an amazing experience with TCH and this was no exception! read more

Took my daughter for the first time today after moving. We live 45 min away but this was the only place open. She's 1 1/2 and she was throwing up with a fever all night, we just moved, and it was a weekend, so no pediatrician. They were WONDERFUL. Everyone was so sweet, no wait time, and at the end, one of the nurses came in and offered her a glow stick. Also, my last pediatrician has given my daughter SEVEN Covid tests, so she wasn't exactly welcoming of the "people in scrubs," but they didn't let that phase them at all. Hands down BEST EXPERIENCE I have ever had with going to a pediatric urgent care/hospital. Our little one was pretty sick with a terrible cough and from the moment we walked in the door we felt like top priority. We were on vacation in Austin and nervous about taking our son somewhere we didn't know. We go to Texas Children's in Houston and when I looked it up they had just opened this location 2 months ago in Austin. Lucky us! The front desk was so nice and made everything go so smooth. They all had smiles on their faces and were eager to meet all of our needs. The touch of calling us "mom" and "dad" made us feel at home. The RN was great and had our son cracking up. Then we followed up with the doctor and she was INCREDIBLE! She has such a gift in interacting with kids! Overall I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone with children. This past saturday we had a little guy w the flu.. Sister had it so we knew what it was. This place was great! They catered to us for sure! They had tvs going in all the rooms, they offered us gatorade, water and my son even got a popsicle! We did have to wait a bit, but i think they take patients based on their vitals and we just had a fever. we will defiantly go back here if we ever need after hours care for our kids! read more

This past week my little one started feeling terrible stomach ache , vomiting, fever , can't hold anything down you name it two days go by to regular over the counter meds and nothings working at all the illness gets worse , our regular Doctors office is now closed and I came across Texas Childrens Urgent care on Google which is also only 8 minutes from our home Gave them A call they said I can make an appointment or just walk in! How great is that! The staff was amazing! The gentleman at the desk had a welcoming warm greet right as you walk in! Also every other medical assistant, nurse, and Doctor who saw my child were all extremely personable welcoming and very gentle caring individuals!! In any case my child has another emergency like this I'm definitely going back! They got us in and out within 30-45 min and definitely got my child all the meds she needed to start feeling better! I cannot recommend Texas Children's Urgent Care highly enough! We came in tonight and had to get stitches for our toddler under his chin after his slipping in the bathtub. Dr. Kelly was SO friendly and skilled and absolutely wonderful while putting in the stitches with the help, and wonderful distraction skills of Nurse Brent. Ian welcomed us with such a friendly manner at the front desk and everyone we had contact with, including Sarah, Kara, and Rosa were so lovely. I've been here many times, unfortunately, but with three kids, someone is always sick and it always springs up after the pediatrician closes. The nurses here are fantastic- really kid friendly with stickers, popsicles, etc. The doctors are great as well- even giving a Covid test to a 4 year old was painless. But, the best part is that you can get in line online before you go- I've never waited, ever. I'm usually in and out within an hour- if you've ever been to the local children's hospital's ER, you know that's a win. Highly recommend for after-hours care. read more

Nobody likes to have to take their child to urgent care, but if you do, this place is where to go! I only went there bc they were about the only ones that were open on a random sunday evening/night. I sure am glad I did! I took my very healthy 13 year old son in for wheezing, coughing and breathing difficulties (which Dr. Prajapati figured out was a reaction in his airway from the dander of dog bed he was laying on while playing with our dog). As soon as we walked in, I mentioned he was wheezing, someone quickly came from behind the counter and put the pulse ox on his finger. Then Ryan and Brent got us back to a room. I'm not sure which one was the black gentleman, but he couldn't have been kinder to my self-conscious 13 year old. He treated him like a friend/peer, not a kid/child and that helped so much!!!
