I specifically chose this facility because they advertise draining abscesses and minor surgeries on the website. On this list of services there is an asterisk that notes that only certain facilities provide "silica exams." However, that is the only service that has the note. In my intake notes, I literally listed "doxycycline (for acne)" as a current medication. I also listed amoxicillin as a medication allergy. When I was seen, I explained to the doctor what was going on and that prior to my surgery I'm 2020, it was difficult to obtain a diagnosis and that prior practitioners prescribed skin cream and bactrim, and neither of those worked. The doctor said she couldn't perform a drainage procedure because my symptoms were by the ear and it was "cosmetic." Completely understandable, but that should be one of the services with an asterisk note, at minimum. She offered to prescribe me doxycycline and I said I was already on it. The doctor asked why, and I said it was for acne and it was in my notes. In hindsight I wish I'd asked why she hadn't read the notes. She then offered amoxicillin, and I told her that in my notes I listed that medication as an allergy. Then she proposed bactrim, despite the fact that I just said I'd been prescribed that for this ear issue before and it did not work. At that point I said I would just leave and I wanted my copay refunded. There was no issue receiving the refund and the girl at the front desk was very apologetic. I wasn't angry with the girl at the front desk and told her it was not her fault. I understand if the procedure couldn't be done at the facility. My issue is that I cannot find any reasonable excuse why a physician would not have read the intake notes listing my current medications and allergies. I have concern for future patients and sincerely hope this issue is resolved internally. I understand this is a high paced, stressful environment but things like reading intake notes and understanding current medications and allergies shouldn't be overlooked. Edit: Unfortunately, I did not read the reviews beforehand because I was in so much discomfort I was focused on finding a facility I thought could provide treatment. In reading other reviews, it appears the standard response is "I'm sorry to learn your experience with Texas MedClinic Urgent Care did not meet your expectations." Anticipating this review will receive a similar response, I'd like to point out the Texas Occupations Code defines Medical Records as "all records relating to the history, diagnosis, treatment, or prognosis of a patient." Additionally, Practicing Medicine is defined as "the diagnosis, treatment, or offer to treat a mental or physical disease or disorder or a physical deformity or injury by any system or method, or the attempt to effect cures of those conditions..." I say this because expecting a physician to review the medical records I provided for this specific care is not an expectation specific to me or some unsaid expectation I had in mind. The State has regulations, laws, and definitions for a reason. One of those reasons is to provide notice to physicians and the public about care. So, to save anyone time in issuing the response I anticipate, I want to make it clear this was not a personal expectation. The expectation I had was that a physician providing care would read my intake notes, which is simply a basic component of practicing medicine.

First Visit: I had been dealing with a respiratory tract infection for almost 30 days and had already been treated by another community care center. Since I had a trip planned, I wanted to confirm whether I was still contagious. After completing my paperwork, I was called in quickly. The doctor reviewed my symptoms--fever that came and went, a bad cough, and throat discomfort. She checked my vitals, body temperature, and BP, which were all normal at that moment. Since I had already completed a round of antibiotics, she advised me to let my body fight the infection, reassuring me that I was no longer contagious. That was a relief, and I left Ally without being charged. Second Visit: After returning from my trip to California, I came back to Ally with a 103°F fever, severe body aches, extreme fatigue, and a baddd cough. This time, they ran every available test for infections and viruses, which confirmed that I had Influenza A, Influenza B, and COVID-19 and Respiratory Tract Infection. Unfortunately, since I had been sick for over a week, the doctor explained that antiviral medication wouldn't be effective. But they saw how severe my cough was, they prescribed an inhaler and cough medication to help manage my symptoms. I was charged $220 but that was in my best interest there are several other options which you can decide accordingly. What I appreciate most about Ally is that they are upfront about costs. Unlike other ERs that seem to prioritize billing over patient care, they inform you of pricing in advance, giving you the option to accept or decline services based on what's in your best interest. I honestly trust them more than my own physician at this point. I once took a friend to another ER where she tested positive for the flu. All they did was checked her vitals and BP before prescribing medication. Later she received a bill for $1,000. I was very ill at the time, so I do not have any pictures of Ally. However, I've attached a screenshot as proof of my visit.

They've made improvements to parking and the rooms, but the café and food options still need some work. The check-in process for day procedures could also use improvement. It seems they are updating the lobby area as well. The staff is attentive and does their best, and I had a great experience with the ER staff during my last visit. However, the follow-up care after the ER visit could be better. Overall, this hospital is one of the better options in the Austin area. After reading others' reviews and their experiences, I've realized that many of the issues are common across hospitals in the US medical system, not just this one. Despite her visible dehydration and the difficulty staff had establishing an IV, she remained in the ER for approximately four hours without receiving any IV fluids. Before being discharged, she suffered a physical setback, yet she was still sent home. The following day, we were notified that she tested positive for C. diff. It is deeply concerning that a patient in her condition, with what turned out to be a serious infection, was brushed off and discharged while still thirsty and weak. We now have to wait several days to see her primary care physician for follow-up care that should have been initiated or supported by the emergency team. I am disappointed by the lack of effort and the dismissive attitude we encountered during this visit. I would appreciate a review of her case and an explanation as to why standard interventions, such as administering saline fluids, were not provided given her symptoms. We can do better for all patients.
