We came here on a Friday evening around 7:30pm and got seated right away. The interior of the restaurant was warm and inviting and gave us an upscale impression such that we knew we were in for something special. We began with the creamy mushroom soup as a starter. It was really good with great creamy texture and flavor. Perfect portion size and served at just the right temperature. For the main entree, I chose the 300g New York steak at a medium temperature. I also chose a side of mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked to perfection and just the right amount of sear markings. The dessert menu had lots of great choices. I decided to go with the homemade apple tart with vanilla ice cream. It was paired perfectly with a nice hot cup of americana coffee. Really great restaurant. The only thing holding back from a 5-star rating was the time it took to receive the main entree. There was definitely a wait, enough for the server to apologize and explain how there was a large party that was ahead of us and that caused a slight delay in the kitchen, While this is certainly understandable, it shouldn't take away from my ability to receive my entree in a satisfactory timeframe. The theme of the event was USA meets Italy to offer food from both countries. Not just something new for Andulino's Chef Reto but also for the guests at the drool table, who were privileged to try his new cooking style. We were joined by Reto later this evening where he not just asked how the food was but also told us his motivation and story behind it. I liked this, it adds a very personal touch to the experience. Since Reto never prepared buffalo chicken before I was even more excited to taste his new creation. I was surprised it tasted great and you could still note a hint of Reto signature sweetness in the mix . Besides the nice and crunchy marinade around the chicken was tender and juicy. Usually not a big fan of chicken wings but here it was totally different, I couldn't get enough of it. Just one improvement, which I also mentioned to Reto it could be more spicier next time, even one that is extra spicy if it's just for me hehe. Besides the cooking the service was impeccable, and we got even more drinks as originally promised from @letsdrool - so nice! What a great way to attract and bind long term customers. Let's not forget the social aspects, which is another strength of drool's concept besides offering food you never got before at their partners location. It's only 1 tram/bus stop away, so really convenient to get dinner here before the show. I almost couldn't find the place, because the yellow stripy awning covered up the sign on the bottom, and it didn't actually say Rolli in the small letters on top, just steakhouse. But it's right next to the Restaurant Metzgerhalle on the corner. Inside is kind of decorated in what I would call southern American style with red-and-white checkered tablecloths and old signs on the walls for Yuengling beer and Coca-Cola. There was one random sign for Haldengut Bier though--which was kind of out of place from all the American stuff. I got their special--steak made with American beef with a side of fries and 3 dipping sauces. The meat was REALLY good. Perfectly juicy and delicious, with a nice herb-y taste due to some green stuff and tiny red berries on top of the steak. The meat came out on a hot stone and I could cook it to my own liking. The fries were thick-cut and perfectly cooked with a nice taste of potato inside. Not too salty, like I sometimes find in other places. Dipping sauces were really rich and creamy, with great flavor. A curry one, a garlic one, and a pinkish one kind of like Thousand Island. 4 of us shared a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon from California. My dinner cost SFr. 50 for the meal and sharing the wine. This was probably the best steak I've had in Switzerland so far in 3.5 years.

We happened upon it just by looking up restaurants close to our hotel and it wound up being our favorite place we ate in our whole 10 days in Switzerland! The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming. When you walk up, there are tables and chairs throughout the walkway and then an entire open area of tables off of the outside bar for a fun hangout. The building appears to be an old house turned restaurant and is so beautiful on the outside and so warm and inviting on the inside. The menu had accommodations for everyone - which is so nice as I am a lactose intolerant pescatarian! I got the beetroot and black bean burger both nights I was there and it was to die for!! I ate the entire thing both nights and just wanted more (it was a big burger though)!! I also had a watermelon spritz which was so refreshing! You can tell the owners/workers get to know their regulars as I saw them stopping by tables and chatting - which was just so fun to see! If you're in Zurich, I highly recommend popping by!
