First I never got my call from them from my doctors personal referral. When I finally got my appointment I was shocked when I walked in there. There was at least 50 people in there all sitting in uncomfortable looking chairs lined in half circle rows around the front desk. The one girl at reception was very overwhelmed. Some of the people seemed confused about their appointments. It was a mess. When I told the receptionist to cancel my appointment and would not be rescheduling she actually apologized and smiled knowingly. Wow. Not my idea of a comfortable setting much less a comfortable surgery setting for my cataract. No Bueno. read more

I had cataract surgery with Dr Jorge De La Chapa. I wanted a close up lens and he put in a distance lens. Two weeks after surgery I called to say I still cannot see out of my operated eye. The technician said I should be able to. I went in telling them my vision is very cloudy and I have eye pain. I was given a prescription for glasses. I went to get glasses and they told me the prescription was written wrong. I called and told them the prescription is wrong and asked again why is my vision so foggy. Then I am told that I do not need glasses right now because my eye needs several more weeks to heal because I had a dense cataract. This is the first time I have heard that. I think the doctor put the wrong lens in my eye. I know he did not put the one I wanted in. Now I have to go to another doctor to find out why I can't see. read more

My experiences at this office from the first time I took my Dad to his first appointment have all been great. From the minute you walk in the office to the staff that takes you for eye screening to the doctor and then check out. Dads first visit was with Dr. De la Chapa and then he had a follow up with Dr. Majka. Both doctors were very thorough and explained everything to me and weren't annoyed by all my questions. This is the first time as my 85 yr. old Dads advocate that I've felt like I was being listened to and respected. I highly recommend this office for your eyecare. Dr Jorge de la Chapa is my Fantastic Doctor. Needed a eye procedure on my eyes. (Eyelid lift) And then remove Cataracts! He talked to me to teach me what was about to happen. I was totally relaxed knowing I was in good hands. The office staff is so friendly upon check in and the Technicians are also! I have recommended Dr de la Chapa to all my friends on Facebook, when I post my appointments. The local ones I send the Drs office numbers. If you like paying for a Rich Doctor's building then go here. The Dr. way okay but I saw him for only 3-5 minutes max. He was in a big ass rush and didn't listen to me. My prescription for my glasses was done by this 20 something year Old Tech. She was not a Dr. Spent too much there for a technician eye exam. One star cause the blue color art was Cool. Go to A real Dr for your exam. Not a Greedy office like this. read more

Went in for a "free" lasik consultation and they charged my insurance. The receptionist told me I had a co-pay for the appointment. I told them to cancel because it was supposed to be a free consultation. The receptionist spoke with her boss, who told me there would be no copay and my insurance will not be billed. A week later find out they charged my insurance anyway. For a "free" consultation that is clearly advertised as free on their website. I called them to fix the issue and it still appears on my insurance almost 2 months later. Such a shame because I really liked meeting the doctor and he was very professional man. I will not be returning because this office is so disorganized. read more

Same disorganizational issue as Cassie. I was not given a transparent cost. Was told on the phone that my insurance would cover some of the test and it would be deducted from my cost. Paid cash day of and they told me the amount my insurance covered would be returned. Was never honored. Spoke to several people and was even told on the phone that they were just waiting for the insurance to post it on their end, and they needed to talk to people. Provided me the breakdown of costs AFTER all of this. Then tried to backtrack saying their statement given to me THREE months after justified the original cost. Such an awful experience. I wish I had gone to Berkeley instead. read more

I had cataract surgery with Dr.Majka on Aoril 12, 2018, and it could not have been better. The staff, the process and the surgery went very well. It was painless at every step - administrative and medical. I have been dreading doing my eye's surgery for years and my only regret is not having it done sooner! read more

Doctor won't listen. It just seems he is listening. You speak about symptoms but he would turn his back on you and do something with computer. As I have figured out, the doctor's notes are being generated in a form of a template. My notes on the part of "Discussion and Plan", Review of Symptoms" are nothing in common with reality, with what was discussed and what I told the doctor about my symptoms. Because of these wrong notes I had hard time to understand why my insurance was refusing to approve MRI ordered by Dr. Majka. It happened that the main symptoms were not on the notes. After having MRI done I visited the office to discuss the result of MRI with the doctor. The MRI report was not in the office. Also, I was referred to see a Neuro-ophthalmologist. It takes very long time to have a referral or get doctor's notes (about 10 business days). My impression, the office work (according to their policy) is arranged such way that it doesn't work in the interest of the customers. The only thing they do well is smile. On the other hand, you will never get explanation or excuses on the mistakes they have done. It is obvious for me now, that their system (computer system) cannot permit to correct the doctor's notes. So, now trying to make an appointment with a Neuro-ophthalmologist with having the referral, I cannot make it because the initial notes do not contain the main symptoms I visited doctor. The way they talk to you in the office is very "professional": no emotions, smiling but at the same time no interest in your problems which they have created for you. I'd recommend the patients of Dr. Majka to check their doctor notes. read more

Forget about getting a follow up appointment after having cataract surgery. There is no real follow up by them after the surgery. I had them remove my cataracts in mid March. I had the surgery in the morning. I went by their office in the afternoon and a Technician checked my eyes and that has been it. My follow up appointment has been rescheduled two times. You are better off going somewhere else for cataract surgery. Before surgery I didn't need reading glasses. NOW I do! I will be going to Berkeley Eye Care from here on out. read more

Never thought I would find a Dr. like Dr. Majka in Corpus Christi, Tx. He and all the Staff are wonderful so helpful and explain everything. I have 2 serious conditions with my eyes and he calmed me by explaining everything and wanted my questions. Texas Eye Care is wonderful! I had vision correction surgery with them. My eyes healed perfectly and my vision is amazing. I was comfortable the whole time and Dr. Majka made sure to walk me through the entire process and made me feel comfortable for the entire procedure. He is professional and friendly. Dr. De la Chapa meet with me 2 minutes. It was a follow up for glaucoma and he diagnosed me with cornea damage, talked nothing about my glaucoma and scheduled a service to cost $ 1,000.00 instead of the $ 55.00 co-pay visit. Very unprofessional and not adhering to patient care and quoting false charges. They are horrible, they need $$ to pay for the state of the art building?? Really! So much for caring to your profession to assist patient with eye diseases...ALL please find an alternative place!! read more

After surgery, I experienced persistent…read morelight sensitivity, inflammation, poor contrast, glare, floaters, and visual disturbances that seriously affected my daily life and ability to function. For months, I was treated for uveitis and surface issues, but my vision did not meaningfully improve. During that period, one of the associate doctors told me I had "buyer's remorse." That was deeply discouraging. I was not unhappy with a purchase; I was struggling with poor functional vision after surgery and looking for help. After roughly six months of ongoing symptoms, I had to seek out my own second opinions. Another ophthalmologist identified a possible mechanical issue with the lens, and an anterior segment specialist later diagnosed UGH syndrome due to a lens haptic rubbing my iris, causing pigment erosion, along with vitreous prolapse. I am now scheduled for corrective surgery. I understand that medicine can be complex, but I wish my symptoms had been taken more seriously, that lens positioning had been evaluated more aggressively, and that I had been referred out sooner when I was not improving. I am sharing this so other patients with persistent post-surgical symptoms know to keep advocating for themselves and seek another opinion if something does not feel right.

I CAN SEE!! I started wearing contacts at age 9. My biggest fear was to get lost or kidnapped without my glasses or contacts, because I knew I wouldn't be able to find my way back home. That fear was still alive well into my adult years (up until two days ago actually). I came to Corpus Christi, TX because after lots of research, I knew Dr. Majka would be the best to perform PRK. The entire procedure lasted about 8 minutes. I had a lot of questions and some angst about the procedures. My questions were answered, and my angst dissolved with valium and the most relaxing massage chair I've ever sat in. With this procedure I was awake the entire time. What I ended up witnessing was a real life miracle!! Dr. Majka removes the epithelium first (the thin top layer of my cornea). This was totally painless and happened so fast. The actual laser was 20 seconds and Dr. Majka said that 20 seconds is pretty long but it was because my vision was so bad. Before the procedure, my imagination ran wild with worst case scenarios. This was painless and so quick. It was over before I even realized what was happening (again, I felt nothing --- and the valium did its job). Every time I open my eyes, I can see farther and farther! As my eyes continue to heal, I am filled with gratitude - and absolute awe that a laser and incredible doctor could literally heal my vision! read more

I can honestly say that I not only trust Dr. Majka and the Texas Eye Care team with my own eyes but I trust them so much that my 2 children, my grandfather, my mother in law, my sister in law and my aunt are also patients due to my high recommendations. Dr. Majka is very patient, carrying, understanding, and everything done in the office is explained not only by Dr. Majka but by his highly trained technically team . I am proud to say that I am not only a patient but an employee. I have yet to hear a patient walk out of our office with a negative comment or an unhappy visit. If you need eye surgery (the list of what they do here is long), this is the place to go! I had cataract surgery April 18 2019 by Dr. Majka. If I could give him 10 stars I would! My experience from the start was awesome. These people really care!!!! The entire staff were kind. You will not find a friendlier group of people. Would I go back? You bet I would and will. No-one else would have done for me what these people have done. Very professional. Very skilled. Very caring. They make you feel like a family member. I felt safe, because I knew I was in good hands. I want to thank Dr.Majka for being a true professional. I was in need of an eye Doctor. I was referred to Dr.Majka . I was in extreme pain with debris in my eye from doing yard work. He took out several pieces of debris from my eye. Within minutes I was no longer in pain he also explained a few more issues I had that I was not aware of he explained it to me in a way I could understand. I left there saying to myself WOW he's the most caring eye doctor i have ever seen. I will recommend Dr.Majka to anyone who needs an eye doctor. I have always been treated well by Dr Majka and staff I have highly recommended to my family,friends and others I was able to recooperate my eyesight after having cataract surgery by another doctor stating there was no other treatment for me Dr Majka took care of me and started treating me right away and I am able to see 100% and no longer use eye glasses other then cheater glasses (reading glasses) I Am 100% satisfied with Dr Majka Thanks a million Dr Majka keep up the wonderful work and kindness read more
