Pros: great up-front -- nice showroom, quick delivery if items are in stock, decent sale prices, and pleasant employees. Cons: terrible once they have your money -- strict policies and poor customer service. Read the fine print! Our sales associate was nice, but I left feeling duped. She mixed up some of the models (like which ones had which features), and didn't tell us about important details for our furniture set (like that it is not full leather). I clearly felt pressured and uncomfortable, which she even commented on, but the sale continued. We were unhappy with the furniture once delivered -- sometimes you don't realize things are a bad fit until you see it in the space. For such a costly purchase, you should be satisfied. I reached out within 24 hours to see if there was anything we could do. TFH bounced me between the sales person, their customer service dept, and a store manager. They all maintained "final sale" -- no exchange/credit, restocking fees, or anything else. I get it. I was asking for an exception. However, there are many other local stores that allow grace periods to make sure that you are happy with your (expensive) investment. At TFH, it seems like satisfaction doesn't matter once they've finished the sale. If you read the fine print on your receipt, you will see strict policies around cancellations, rescheduling, etc, that make it clear they are not on your side. We wanted to seek out a local, family-owned business. Instead of getting personalized consideration and problem-solving, we got pushback about policies and profit margins. This is not a mom-and-pop shop, but a large multi-site operation. If you care about flexible, customer-oriented care, look elsewhere; there is no shortage in Houston. I hate leaving reviews like this, but I wouldn't want this to happen to anyone else. I'll update this review if/when I interact with them again regarding warranties, etc. read more

I purchased a dining room table here and was a bit unsure of whether I needed the 54 or 60 inch even after taking measurements. The salesperson assured me I could exchange the 54 for the bigger size if I wanted to. She acted as if this was no big deal, but it was an entire misrepresentation. I thought I may want the 60 inch, and I called. The salesperson completely changed her position on whether I could make the exchange since the item had already been delivered. This is not what she had said before, and it was the first time she mentioned anything about being unable to exchange after delivery. She didn't deny this nor did the manager. Further, the manager did not take any responsibility for her misrepresentation. He simply stated how he doesn't know what goes on on his own sales floor. We discussed the return/exchange policy, which he interpreted and tailored to his liking. To be clear, it is not the policy I have an issue with, it is being lied to and deceived about whether I could exchange the table. Not once did anyone ever deny what I was told. I ended up being happy with my table, but the misrepresentation of the salesperson and her manager's lack of responsibility are both very concerning. It is dishonesty and a lack of accountability. I rarely have conflicts in business and ask for managers even less. This was a rare exception. Don't shop here. read more

Finally experienced some of those shadiness that other customers have mentioned in their reviews. I came here to buy a matching file cabinet for my bookcase and desk. The saleswoman, a Vietnamese lady, looked it up in the system and told me it won't be available until November. This was back in October of 2021. She said it'll be ready after Thanksgiving for me to pick up, she didn't point out the fine print saying that this wasn't a guaranteed date. No one ever called me to give me an update or possible delay on the items. I called end of November and they said it's not going to be available until January but they were only getting one in and there were 2 people ahead of me so I'm not to get the desk in January. Still have not heard back from them in regard to any time frame for my file cabinet and disputing the charges didn't work even though they have made no effort to keep me up to date, all in all, go somewhere where they honor their word when they tell you the delivery date. Rooms To Go and other places have never let me down in terms of the deliver by date. If anything, I'd be completely happy with being underpromised and overdelivered rather than the other way around. One thing, they also told me the brand Aspen Homes was manufactured in the US by prison inmates in Arizona by Yvette during my last purchase here. So when they told me they had issues shipping the filing cabinet because it's manufactured overseas, that tells me now that it's all just lies. read more

Probably the worst experience of my purchasing life.. these people went out of their way to screw me. Sold me these chairs that were unstable on delivery but insisted I keep them as that's how they were made.. Honestly if I was an unstable person, this would be the place I'd drop the big one, they went above and beyond to screw us over $500 chairs when I bought $8000+ in furnishings. I was extremely happy with my couch and the service. I'm surprised that the ratings are so low for this furniture store. The staff was great. The quality of the items that I purchase were amazing. Give them a try. I bought a couch with springs, which a lot of places do not sell, mostly wood underneath. After I learned about spring couches, I went to galleria furniture and asked them to show me couches with springs. They only had two and they were asking $16,000. It's been 9 weeks and we still haven't received the piece that we paid for. They are just pushing it for a week and we still haven't received it. Very poor management, sales and communication. Been pretty disappointed, good experience until we received the couch and found some pretty shoddy things. I am 90% sure it was the delivery guys trying to hide things they damaged but not sure. I think if somebody would have been willing to at LEAST try to make this right, they would have gotten at the minimum 4 stars, but since it's just seemed like "you're on your own" I've given 1 instead. This place is on the higher side cost wise, so you'd think they would try to at least try and get repeat business. To their, or the manufacturers (Franklin) really, credit the couch is actually super comfortable. 1 BROKEN ADAPTER: after the delivery guys left I remembered that our couch had a plug inside to charge phones. When I went to go plug it in, it seemed like it was missing a part. Called TFH, and talked with I believe the manager and he sorted out what was missing. Turns out the delivery guys either broke something or realized it was broken and just THREW it under the couch. I got it sorted out and part was replaced,but left a bad taste in my mouth when they called and said come pick it up at the store. It's a small thing but I wasn't the one who broke this so it would've been nice for them to make it right and just delivered it to my house. What would have been nicer is when the manager realized the part that I had was broken, would be to let me have the part on the display and TFH be put out a few weeks waiting on part instead of customer 2: PILLOW FIXED WITH STAPLES!!: this is pretty crazy. When I got the call to pick up the replacement part I noticed that night that one of the decorative pillows had a tear, when I looked closer I noticed that somebody tried STAPLING it back together. I am assuming it was the delivery guys based on them throwing the broken piece under the couch, but don't know for sure. I was outside with my daughter while they were assembling it because my 3 year old was scared of their drill noises, so could've been then 3 CUSTOMER SERVICE: I will say Mayra seems to be doing her job well and taking care of things as best she can. My issue has been no real care by anybody else to make things right. It's just been "call customer service" or "we didn't do that". When the part was broken the salesman or manager I talked to just said "yeah you're missing a part (the one I'm literally holding in my hand right now) call customer service". When I did call customer service with the number given it just called the SAME GUY and he transferred me. Why not transfer me to begin with?! When I brought the pillow in with the staples, we showed it to them and they immediately said "that wasn't us, you'll have to call customer service Monday" while we were standing 3 feet away from display with the same pillow that we needed. I'm baffled that somebody didn't say "would you like to take that from the display?" Or "how can we make this right?" 4 DELIVERY DATE: Not the biggest deal but thought I'd throw it in. Was told it would be delivered in about a week, but then was told it would be an extra 10 days. Could have been a potential headache if we had sold our old couch when we planned It's pretty stupid on TFH's part, because if the delivery guys just told me, I wouldn't have cared less. And even if they didn't and I called in and was told more than just call customer service, I'd be leaving a much better review and more than likely be shopping with them again. update: We have had these couches over a year now. Still one broken! I have talked to Bill the manager, he supposedly has talked to the owner about getting some compensation, considering they sold us 2 defective couches that they can not get repaired in a decent amount of time. Bill has not once returned my call, I have to call him back. They have done nothing! They won't even cancel and refund the extended warranty we bought! If you still chose to do business with this company I pray you don't buy product with any issues. They don't care. The owners video on website says they treat their customers like family. They must really hate their family. Warning to anybody looking to buy furniture. Stay clear of Texas Furniture Hut!! We purchased 2 couches in Feb 2021. The recliner in one broke after 1 month. It took 6 months to get it repaired. A recliner in 2nd couch broke a week before 1st was repaired. I have been getting the run around getting 2nd one fixed, customer service dropped the ball a few times. I was just told the part will be shipping in 2 months and once it is shipped will take at least a month to get here! Out of a year both couches have been fully functional for 1 month!!! This review is focused on customer service at the Katy location. We stopped by and happened to have our senior dogs with us. Most places, no problem. The staff was excited to see us all and even played with the dogs. We were about ready to make a purchase when, from the back,of the store, a rude man stood up from his desk and shouted for us to leave across the entire showroom! He said dogs weren't allowed. While I completely understand the request and was willing to happily comply, I can suggest a dozen other ways that he could have/should have made this request of us and still preserved good customer relations. While shopping in the show room June 5, a male employee (with a suit and a beard, who was with other customers), shouted at me across the showroom "no dogs allowed in the showroom!" Yes, I had my dogs with me. I was appalled! First because the dogs were quietly sitting, then walking at my side. But second because of the embarrassment this caused as everyone turned to look at us. Wouldn't a better approach have been to quietly walk up to me and explain the policy rather than shout at me across a showroom and in front of other customers? And honestly, shouldn't you have asked me if they were service dogs? Hmmmm.......I would be very careful doing this in the future. You don't start shouting at a paying customer when we get concerned about our furniture delivery dates not as expected. My schedule is very limited and obviously I don't have time to keep continuously take days off just to wait for you to NOT GUARANTEE MY DELIVERY. Shoot, we paid an arm and a leg. We've been waiting for over 3 weeks now. Other furniture places would have our stuff delivered within 24hrs. && just because the policy is no refund/exchanges, they think they can do or say what the f they want. Then they keep on insisting us to call Customer Service, and let CS continuously hang up on us without an answer. If I was you, save the trouble and do not buy from them. I rather spend my money elsewhere for better customer service. I work in customer service too, and there's a lot better ways to handle concern customers in a professional manner. Just got our new Flex Steel sofa from Texas Furniture Hut yesterday. We had purchased our first from Red Barn 9 years ago, they are now out of business. When I contacted Flex Steel, I was told Texas Furniture Hut on Katy Freeway was a gallery store for them. I was very hesitant because when their store on NW Freeway opened, it contained nothing but brown furniture and a limited selection at that, no name brands. Katy salesman spend a lot of time with us while we selected fabric and was not at all pushy. They had almost two walls of fabric samples for Flex Steel; basically what I found on Flex Steel's web site. Sofa is beautiful and I am very happy. The only complaint was the delivery people. They came in, said we have your sofa, we won't move old sofa, so where do you want it. No hello, how are you, we are with Furniture Hut. Made it clear they expected a tip. We are good tippers but these guys did not get one. I have never experience anything like that with any other company making deliveries. p.s. We bought two flexsteel couches from them. Sales process was very good and we are happy with the product. However they got two starts for after sales service. You better hope no part is missing from your furniture because you'll have to go through their incompetent customer service/delivery teams who don't seem to communicate with each other. Not only we were asked to collect the missing part ourselves (we said no way, that's your problem, not ours), delivery guys never got messages that we wouldn't be home until a certain time. Had to call customer service on multiple occasions to straighten thus out and even then the delivery guys showed up at the wrong time. BAIT AND SWITCH!!! After a lengthy discussion, we decided on a couch and loveseat that was perfect for our family, especially because of the 20% discount! Once we began to set up delivery and payment, the sales guy tells us that they made a mistake and that the 20% actually didn't apply, after he and his manager told us MULTIPLE times that it did while we were doing our due diligence. Even though it was their mistake, they would not rectify the error and expected us to pay the full price. Delivered the next day by very mannerly gentlemen, I could not be happier with my new Mayo sofa and loveseat. Sandy, the sales representative, was lovely and knowledgeable. Google Mayo Furniture in Texarkana, Texas and see their American made process. They build a very fine American-made product, and Texas Furniture Hut gave me the best deal in town. I know. I compared. My experience was GREAT! One hint. . . if a store or any business advertises on TV, they pay a lot for that advertising. And, who do you think is going to pay for it? I really want to put no stars. My wife and I purchased over $5K of couch and chairs from Texas Furniture Hut. When the chairs were delivered we realized they were not what we expected within 24 hours. We went back in and told them we wanted the othet set we original were looking at and pay for the return. We as well wanted to purchase more furniture. They refused to take the chairs back even though we wanted another set and purchase more. The customer service with these people is nonexistent. I must say read your agreement closely if you decide to buy from them but I suggest that you don't. The people running this operation seem to be non American and their attitudes show this. We bought our Flexsteel sofa at TFH a year ago and love it. We also saved close to $1500 on the same sofa that our local furniture store had. Unbelievable!! My wife has pain in her hip, leg, and back. She needed something to sit in that didn't cause her more pain. We found zero gravity recliners at TFH. The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, and they have excellent customer service. Their prices are also very good. 5 stars for them. We love the Katy store (only one we have visited!) and we appreciate their knowledgeable staff. Keep up the great work. Please do yourself, your body, and your wallet a favor by stopping into TFH and talk to the friendly folks there. Zero pressure sales staff which is appreciated. We will always come back and make TFH our first stop. Don't waste your time shopping around until you visit TFH. You'll be glad you did - we are!!! read more

We bought a bed and nightstand for a house we recently moved into. I measured width for the wall and it was perfect. When delivered it was too long for the room. I called right away to see if we could return and buy another bed. We would pay to deliver back and sticking fee or whatever. They will not let us return even for a store credit!! Flabbergasted! If you ever want a perfect situation to use this word, I've have just experienced it. If I could give this a zero star or negative starts I would - besides not having a choice on a one star I will say that our sales person Sandra would be the only reason they deserve a 1 Star - the only saving grace of this entire experience. So for that Sandra, Thank you. I will say the furniture that we did get is great quality and of good value. We did a ton of shopping before pulling the trigger and this was the one place that had all of what we were looking for. Now for the rest of our experience. We ordered our furniture in Mid February because we were closing on our house 1st of March and they were nice enough to take a $250 deposit to lock in the price and hold our spot for delivery. We did receive our 1st shipment of furniture the weekend of our move which was convenient and appreciated however our couch was on back order - no biggie right? Now, I have been running a business for over 15 years in the outdoor living industry, I truly understand being tied to the manufacturing process, manufacturers, shipping delays, etc... They did a pretty good job of keeping me in the loop in the beginning, however the last month or so we were having to make the calls to check on the status. The last time that I called, I talked to Bill the GM, and he apologized and mentioned that the Miller sofa that we purchased had a faulty switch and that we were still looking at 45-60 days. At this time, he did offer get us into something else since we weren't going to wait another 2 months to get our couch (at this point we had already been waiting 2 months). We went back into the showroom to see if there was an alternative that we liked and right away we found one. It didn't have all the features of the Miller however it was the same color and the power seats that we wanted. It was also a little bit less expensive which at the end of the day, I was ok with that :) (only smile in this review). Even better, Bill said that he could have this delivered by the weekend but just needed to check inventory. This is where the poop show began. He then comes back to tell us that of the 3 coming in they are already taken and that there won't be more coming in for another 60 days or something. "Ok", I said, "then let us have the floor model and we will call it a day." When can you have that delivered?" Bill then proceeded to go back to his office to make a call (so he says) and comes back out to tell us that not only can we not have the floor model of the new one that we wanted, we also can't have the Miller sofa floor model that we originally purchased. I then said, "look - of the 3 orders that are getting that couch, when did they purchase?" Bill then went on to say (Here is where Flabbergasted starts coming into play.) "I can't let those other customers suffer." So let me get this straight - we have been waiting for over 2 months for our couch, we are now being told that not only can we not have the floor models that would be a fantastic solution to make everyone happy, we are now being told that we will have to wait another 2 months and he doesn't want his other customers to suffer? But, "you are willing to let us suffer?" Then he tells us - "well, I didn't think of it that way." So, once again, he goes back to his office to make another phone call and at this time as you can imagine I am pretty hot but still willing listen to a solution. He then comes back out to the showroom and proceeds to tell us that "there is just nothing else that can be done and that we are going to just cancel your couch order and let you walk away." - Yep, you guessed it - Flabbergasted!! In all the years of being in business and working with thousands of clients and even in all the purchases of my life, I could have never imagined that this would actually be the response of any business for the final solution. WOW!!! Words cannot explain how incredibly astounded, bewildered, upset, and taken aback my Wife and I were at this experience and the end game (the definition of - Flabbergasted). How can a company let a client walk out the door after allowing them to wait over 2 months without a couch and then not go above and beyond to find a solution? No phone call from the owner, no follow ups from management, no apologies or "we are going to have one special ordered and shipped next day to get you taken care of because we appreciate your business." Nothing!! all we got was sorry there is nothing that we can do and we are going to let you walk. As I mentioned, Sandra was great and they do have good quality for a good value. Other than that I cannot recommend this company - I would do a lot of research and read their other reviews before going in there for a purchase. It pains me to write this type of review, however I feel that I'm doing other potential shoppers out there a disservice by not sharing our story. read more

Bill, the manager, was very kind and made sure we were satisfied with our purchase, as we had a damaged five drawer chest that would not close smoothly upon the first delivery. Crystal provided us with great care in keeping us posted on the status of our replacement chest. Do NOT Buy Furniture From This Store!! This company dropped our brand new Lane recliner sofa during delivery. I saw this with my own eyes. We called the store immediately. We sent them pictures of the damage AND of my RING doorbell video that shows me exclaiming that my sofa was dropped!! The delivery guy actually jumped out of the way of the falling sofa. After the drop, the delivery people continued to rush us and bring the sofa into our house, while we were still trying to ask them about the incident. When confronted, one threw up his hands and said the store would come and get it if there was damage. They were angry, in a hurry and unwilling to wait while we examined the sofa, so I refused to accept it in good condition. i noted this on their paperwork. Minutes later, on examining the back of the sofa, we discovered that the end recliner was crooked and hanging at an odd angle. When we were able to turn the couch over, we saw that the metal frame was bent and the end recliner mechanism, connected to wood, was scraping every time it was opened and closed. We took numerous pictures at every stage of this process, and sent them to the Claims Dept. The company was COMPLETELY aware of this damage, but refused for 3 weeks, to come and pick up the damaged couch---thank goodness we kept our old one, but two couches in one living room was frustrating! We finally hired movers and carefully returned it (at $200 expense to us) to the showroom floor. They still put us off, tried to blame their manufacturer, Lane, lied to the BBB about the damage, and said we just didn't like the sofa. We asked them to let us come and choose something else. It had taken 13 weeks to get this sofa (5 weeks longer than they promised) and we did not want to have to wait that long again, especially since it was much more overstuffed than the floor model. They refused to do that, and told us we had to keep the sofa, damage and all. They lied and said the floor model had been there for 20 years. (This store is only 3 years old.) They finally offered to come and take the damaged sofa apart and replace the frame in our living room!! Since we had bought a brand new sofa, this proposition was unacceptable to us. On the same day we purchased the sofa, we also bought two beautiful recliners (that we love) from this company---but we will never darken the door of this store again. They have a nice showroom, put up a good front, but they are dishonest and shady. They do not stand behind their products. Professional furniture companies do not behave this way. My husband and I just ordered a sofa, two recliners, and a kitchen table from TFH and we could not be happier with our experience. They worked around my schedule to deliver it, and the delivery was amazing. They were very careful with our wood floors and even picked the sofa back up before they left so I could move the rug.
