Good thing I spent the night here. They took great care of me.

Well, I just can't say enough good things about the Texas Institute for Surgery. Here's the deal: I was having some elective surgery and wound up staying the night. Initially, it was a mistake that I was scheduled to stay over night, but I was in bad shape afterward, so it worked out for the best in the end. This was elective surgery, so insurance didn't have anything to do with it. I paid everything up front, so there were no surprises. We got there at 6 am to register and that went very smoothly. I got into the pre-op room about 7 am and got my IV started and paperwork signed. I was under anesthesia, so I didn't wake up until about 4 pm that afternoon in the post-op area. It was a long time to be under sedation and I felt terrible, but they took such good care of me! Like I said, I wasn't planing on staying the night, but it seemed like the best thing for me after the surgery. They got me upstairs and my first RN was Jordan and he was just wonderful. I had a couple of other RN's and Tech's during my visit but I'm so sorry that I can't remember their names. After some discomfort in the beginning, things calmed down for me and I had a late dinner (and also breakfast for me and my wife in the morning). The surgeon came to see me in the morning to make sure I was doing well, and then they got me discharged. The entire staff at TIS (is that acronym a thing?) was just simply amazing and I thank them all for taking such good care of me when I needed it.

They give you snazzy socks! Ha!

My husband went in for injections in his neck yesterday. We were both super nervous - he's never had any kind surgery before this. EXCELLENT experience! Myreesha checked us in - she's so personable and made us feel at ease right away. LaRhonda was his PCT and she was great too. Sarah was our RN and man, were we blessed to have her. She was so caring and took all our concerns into her process. She was bubbly and could tell she really loved her job. Dr Boehler was the anesthesiologist and she was amazing! My hub felt nothing! And of course, Dr Banta... hands down a great guy and great surgeon! We could not have asked for a better experience! Thank you for everything!!!

I have nothing but praises for Dr Margolis. He is one of the best anesthesiologist I have ever met. He is so caring and professional. I highly recommend him as an anesthesiologist. He took care of a friend of mine and I was so pleased how he was with her and her family. Not only he took the time with her in pre op but also made sure she was ok all the way through stepdown. He checked on her several times to make sure she was fine, for me, that's God send. George72

I've seen many freestanding radiology practices disappear, along with my reports and images, many of which would be valuable for comparison if only they were available. My first tip: Stick with a company with proven longevity, such as SWDIC. My second tip: Get all of your outpatient imaging done at the same place so that you will know how to quickly find what a provider may want to see some day. SWDIC does every procedure I can think of. My next tip: if you have special needs, go to an imaging center where the staff and their accomodations can meet your needs easily. Two examples: at SWDIC, I always had the best of care from Cindy, the same mammography tech year after year, despite my limitations from MS. And I know of no other place you can have an MRI if you can't just get up and walk away from your power wheelchair (Don't I wish!) and walk the long distance to the MRI table. Uh, there's a good reason that I must use a power wheelchair, and only SWDIC has an MRI with a detachable exam table that can be brought to the patient who can't trek to an attached exam table! I thank God for the foresight of SWDIC clinical and executive staff for providing this invaluable tool! Never have I ever met a SWIC staff member, from schedulers to the front desk, to the professional staff who was not both professional and kind, and personal if the interaction was long enough. You may well leave with your images and reports in hand; just ask, if that will be helpful. And don't get away without a parking voucher, although I've always been given one before I could ask.

Any doctor I've gone to I spend two minutes with and the appointment is over. I really appreciate that Dr.Nguyen takes time with me, and it is worth waiting a little longer. ALSO, I've been to the clinic a lot and there's NOT a wait every time. I think people are just used to doctors not spending a lot of time to understand what their issue is, unlike Dr. Nguyen who does. I also really like the receptionists. She really went the distance - to assist me by getting back payments I was owed - as well as benefits for future coverage. The friendly staff at the Dallas office are all very nice, polite and professional! Before Foundation - I was in a Methadone clinic for several years after a pain-management addiction occurred. It was a miserable experience - my first counselor actually died from a heroine drug-overdose! I was treated like dirt by everyone but the nurse administering daily dosages ( which was a big hassle also!). Methadone is a horrible solution! Everyone has been very positive and knowledgable from Dr. Thompson to the entire team. Dealing with a narcotic addiction involves many physiological and physiological aspects and can be challenging and demoralizing - And expensive! Choose your provider very carefully and find kind, good and competent professionals like those at Foundation Medical. They are always available to help you and will work hard for a successful healthcare treatment program! They have improved the quality of my life!

After initial blood test and prescriptions ($1000 not including prescriptions) he emailed me my results and prescribed new. I waited 5 months to make sure my second levels would be accurate with new recommendations since I had pelleted with my previous doctor and wanted to move away from that (it was the only method offered at that practice). At second visit ($600 for blood test and another long discussion, where no action was taken regarding my hair loss, skin conditions, side effects of levels) he said he would send my results the following Monday.  He finally sent them 11 DAYS LATER via email.  My levels were so out of range I questioned they were even my test results.  Dr. Fein had my testosterone levels at 4 times the normal level for someone my age (58) --level was 411, and every other result was the worst they had ever been in ALL areas, so when I called to speak with him about the results, he would not take the call, but his assistant did. When I was upset about the results, Laura actually hung up on me! I called back to ask why, and she said I was upset, to which I responded PERHAPS BECAUSE I'M JACKED UP ON TESTOSTERONE? I asked to speak with the DOCTOR and an appointment was made, although the evening before the appointment call it was canceled via email for the reason I upset the staff and that I should "go back to my previous doctor" (the one he slandered). THIS IS NOT WHY WE GO TO A DOCTOR.  He is inaccessible and unresponsive and has no regard for accuracy of his staff's stories or his patients' health. I also noticed he left the office while I was paying my bill (2pm)

I gave 2 stars because of some outstanding doctors and nurses. They really cared, attentive and worked hard trying to keep my brother alive. I can list those people because they were so memorable and kind. These were all during his many, many hospital stays. I feel like that if you don't get these people, you might be lucky to stay alive. The lack of help, lack of staff (some fell asleep while we were in our floor room), excruciating long wait in ER, lack of doctors or nurses coming in ER room. HOURS and HOURS and HOURS waiting in an ER hallway with NO ONE helping. Even when he was in dire straights, including throwing up blood, they were slow (not to a room and seen by nurse and doctor to control theowing up) it was after they got him "stable" which he was not. The incredibly slow process of getting a room. They assign one BUT hours and hours of wait time. With the excuse they need to clean it. Again, is this a lack of staffing or just in no hurry for patients. We think their moto should be: UTSW we strive to just do a hurry up and wait and wait and wait to help you. I will never go there. Surely there is a better solution than this kind of care. Don't be fooled by their "#1 hospital in Texas". It is ONLY in research. I wish their research was better in our situation. There really are some fantastic staff and doctors we have been very blessed in that way. Especially, some of his doctors that have been caring, attentive, educational, saved his life more than once in the past 4 years. Dr. Goldschmidt, Dr. Sawas, Dr. Kim, Dr. Mufti, Dr. Chittajallu, Dr. Bradley, etc. I know I am missing some of these fantastic doctors and nurses. I am very sorry to miss your names. These listed were his hospital stays. THE VERY sad thing is they probably don't read these reviews and do more to address these very serious issues. I have worked with the complaint department to help but it has been mostly a miss. There were a couple of people who did great. It's frustrating to see your loved one suffering for hours and hours and hours with limited assistance. I have shed many a tear during these years.

During the visit, the nurse explicitly told me that the referral for the procedures would be processed. Instead, without any explanation, the office sent a referral for a gastroenterology consultation appointment instead of the procedures that were discussed and requested. When I contacted the office to correct what appeared to be a mistake, they refused to amend the referral. What makes the situation even more frustrating is that I spoke directly with the gastroenterology office. They confirmed they were ready to schedule the procedures immediately as soon as they received the proper referral order. In other words, the only barrier was the primary care office sending the order they had already indicated they would send. The explanation I received from the office was baffling. I was told that because I have symptoms, they would not issue the procedure referral and that I must first attend an office visit with the GI doctor. Yet in the same conversation I was told that if I had no symptoms, they would have had no problem issuing the referral directly for the procedures. That logic is very difficult to reconcile. After the office refused to correct the referral--even when I offered to pay for another telehealth visit to resolve the issue--I ultimately had to go to urgent care. The urgent care physician reviewed the situation and had no problem issuing the referral for the procedures immediately. So to summarize: the service I originally paid this practice to provide was something a completely unrelated urgent care physician was able to do without hesitation. If the policy of this office is that they will not write procedure referrals and will only refer patients for specialist consultations, that should be communicated before the appointment, not after patients have already paid for the visit and relied on what they were told during it. The end result of this experience was wasted time, wasted money, unnecessary frustration, and a delay in obtaining medical testing for symptoms serious enough to warrant investigation. Patients deserve clear communication, consistency, and follow-through from their healthcare providers. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.
