I have had an amazing experience with Texas Marine over the last year and a half, since I purchased my brand new boat from there. I have been in touch with them a few times for minor repairs, and for service, and wow have they been nice. I like to start by establishing a relationship with the staff everywhere I go, and let time go by before I ever stain a business with a bad review as it takes years to recover from someone who's upset and was unable to solve the issue whether it be the staff or the customer who really didn't handle it well. Texas Marine, Brian the general manager, Eric in the service department and others I have dealt with, are awesome, very nice people, but it takes two to tango. You can't go to a place and talk like you own it, if you think something is too expensive, have a conversation with them and ask for a lower rate, go somewhere else and get a second opinion, and bring it back to them and see what they tell you. Don't just put a review, you have to work it yourself. They're taking care of their money, you have to take care of yours, no hard feelings. I have loved my experience with them so far and no matter who I've dealt with at the dealership, they've exceeded my expectations. I do recommend this place, but, remember, don't walk in there like you own the place, and don't imply you're going to get screwed from the get go, be nice, talk, express yourself, they're people just like you. Make them like you too, they will listen and work with you. I hate seeing bad reviews, so I read them, and I noticed a lot of things that could have been talked about before the review. My experience at this dealer: 1. Brought in my inboard boat for potential sale. Engine had been sitting over winter. 2. Before starting the engine and before putting the boat in the water, the dealer performed a compression test on the completely cold engine. 3. Reported numbers: one cylinder at 115 PSI, the others at 160 PSI. 4. They then ran the engine approximately 10 minutes. 5. They did not re-test compression warm at any point. 6. They held the boat for two weeks before communicating their conclusion. 7. Their conclusion: the boat has a bad cylinder -- based entirely on a single cold compression test performed before the engine was ever run. Standard marine diagnostic procedure for a compression test is engine at operating temperature, throttle held open. A cold engine that sat all winter will show uneven readings because oil has drained off the cylinder walls and rings and valves do not fully seal until warmed. Without a warm re-test, a cold reading is not a diagnosis. The two-week hold also caused me to miss prime selling window for the season. Context on the boat: used throughout the previous season including pulling tubers. No power loss, no misfires, no smoking, no issues reaching plane. Posting so other sellers know what to ask for and what timeline to expect. Request a warm compression test. Confirm the hold period in writing before leaving your boat. read more

Took my boat to Clearlake after having multiple terrible experience at the Conroe location. I was having issues with my trolling motor being under powered after changing a dead battery on a 24v system. Conroe charged $600 to install a new battery, and "correctly" place the wires back on the batteries. When the issue persisted, I took the boat to the Clearlake location. $1300 later, Clearlake says the issue is fixed. On the first trip after maintenance, I realize the issue was NOT actually fixed. I began to research the problem myself, and realized neither Conroe, nor Clearlake had wired my 24v system properly when connecting the lines to the batteries. 10 minutes of YouTube later, my trolling motor is back to 100% functionality. Save your money and time, and keep your boat away from all Texas Marine locations. Neither Conroe, nor Clearlake, know enough to fix a simple wiring error. read more

Update: last week, I picked up my boat. Very different experience from last time I took it to Texas Marine. They cleaned it out and washed it. They did a great job doing that. Mark who is the manager you should go to personally took me out to the boat and reviewed all the work they did with me. He made sure that all of my questions were answered. He went over the warranty for the work with an emphasis that I need to be very happy with the outcome. The boat look great. Every area that I inspected look like it had been taken care of properly. I've got 90 days to return it if I have any questions about the outcome of the repairs. Knowing that they were short-handed and expecting it to take a little bit longer, they beat my estimates and they are now up to staffing capacity to move things through faster. Mark is making a point to make sure that he triage is repairs in a ways to get them done in a timely fashion period He kept his promise and called me every 1 to 2 weeks to keep me updated with three pairs. The estimate that I was expecting and what I got were very different. He actually came in under budget for what I expected the cost to be. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the outcome. I put the boat back in my saw over off of 105. I've not had an opportunity to run it in the water yet because I had to put my kid in college. More to come on that. Bottom line: Mark made the process very seamless and he is very easy to talk to. He is very eager to make your experience with your Yamaha boat here gratifying. Right now, I would say for my experience today, it is worth the trip. I will update this once the boat is in the water and running. To let you know what happened, I had cavitation which I knew about and had self-diagnosed as a problem which is what he confirmed. It required some work on my right engine. Because the cost came under my expectation, I went ahead and did the full annual tune-up as well. I will update you once I have run the boat. If I could give Texas Marine/specifically Allen Edwards, sales manager negative stars for customer service, I would. If you want an overpriced boat that IMMEDIATELY falls apart to the point of needing an entire new engine and then ignores you for 10+ weeks and flat out refuses to make it right, this is your place. This seems to be a reoccurring problem with Texas Marine. I certainly wish I had known before making such a large investment with this crooked company. We drove to Clear Lake from SWLA to purchase a used 2015 Yamaha AR192 that we found online on June 28, 2023. It was supposedly "water tested and thoroughly inspected by certified technicians" prior to being listed according to their website but that is clearly not true. Our initial experience was good, but of course it was, we were buying a boat from them. We took the boat home that day and went out on the water the next week on July 4th for the first time. We drove the boat maybe two miles from the launch and parked there for most of the day. That afternoon we drove it back to the launch to drop some friends off. While still in the no wake zone leaving the launch, the boat showed a low oil pressure light. We opened the engine hatch of the boat to see the bottom covered with oil and the dry storage was also FLOODED with oil. (See attached photo). We checked the oil dip stick to see that there was still some oil left. We then reached down to realize that the oil filter was not screwed in and we were able to carefully tighten it by hand bc it was not secured. We brought the boat back to Texas Marine on July 5, 2023 and it has been there since, for 72 days and counting while they have been fighting over who is responsible and trying to file it under our warranty instead of paying for the damage that THEY caused with neglect from their service department. When we brought it back to the dealership the next day, they eventually let us know that the seal was destroyed which they believe happened due to it being overly tightened which would have happened with the service department before we brought home the boat. This in turn destroyed the entire engine which now needed to be replaced. We received calls from the warranty company weeks later saying they needed to tear more into the motor to diagnose whether it was covered under warranty and let us know that we would need to pay $900+ out of pocket to further open the motor if it was not deemed warranty. Allen Edwards reached out to us for the first time on August 23 after the boat had already been there for 56 days. He told us how he would get everything handled ASAP and keep in contact with us. He did not keep his word on either. We have since been passed from person to person who each swear up and down they will right the problem and keep in touch and then we are ghosted for weeks and passed along on to a new person. We finally got to the point after WEEKS of waiting patiently and decided that we did not want the boat back once the engine was fixed because this company is so crooked and we absolutely do not trust the work that they do. Allen had yet ANOTHER sales rep reach out an additional 16 days later to suggest that they resell the boat under consignment and would keep 10%. (See attached photos for what a nightmare that is with this lying sales manager) When we first got the new motor we were told by several people, including Allen that the boat would be worth more now with an entirely new engine. But Allen is now trying to sell it for what we paid and charge us 10%.. Let alone not refunding the almost $10k down payment and two almost three notes we have now paid on a boat we had for 7 days. Sure seems quite shady that someone would tell you this boat is now worth more yet charge the same unless he was going to pocket some of the extra that he made.. Hard to trust someone who has been lying to you from the start. Who knows. I have never had such a terrible experience at a grocery store, let alone trying to buy a BOAT. I am insanely disappointed and will never recommend Texas Marine to anyone. read more

We bought our boat on consignment from Texas Marine almost 3 months ago and still no titles to the boat, the motor or the trailer. Connor told us that all titles would be expedited since they had some excuse about issues with the previous owner's banks. No titles were expedited so we are still waiting to receive them and we have been told from TPW and TX DMV that we will not receive the titles for another 1-2 weeks. This is totally unacceptable. When we took the boat in our Jack Plate unit was working, it wasn't working when we picked it up, but didn't realize it until after we left Additionally they charged us $450.00 for diagnostics and quote for work they suggested, and were never advised that there would be a charge for them to look the boat over any for obvious issues if any. I asked for a copy of bill showing what they did for $450.00 charge and they really didn't have anything laid out. Said they did a compression test, I asked for a copy of the test and they finally gave me a hand written sheet of paper with some numbers on it?? Insult to injury was that when the service guy hooked our boat, he didn't do it properly, and the boat came off the hitch ball and slid up under the truck!!!! Fortunately we were on a back road only going about 25mph, and not on the freeway, and 3 different people stopped to help us extract the trailer out from under the truck and reattach to the truck. I picked up my 2018 Nauticstar 244XTS from these clowns for the last time, I will not ever do business with this company, their poor service is not limited to just Conroe, from the day we got the boat and still on going we have had nothing but problems, problems that are never fixed, like the transducer and Simrad, the live wells, the outriggers, and the list goes on, Texas Marine has gotten at least a dozen opportunities to make it right and help us get the boat right but it never fails that when we pick up the boat it is still nothing but problems. I was asked to give at least a 24 hours notice before coming to pick up the boat so they could get it cleaned up and ready for me, I made sure to give notice but they did not have the boat cleaned or ready to go, my boat is absolutely filthy, it has sticks and mildew all over it. I asked when dropping the boat to get any warranty work done, when i picked the boat up they had a 365 dollar bill for us without any confirmation that we wanted to pay them for any work. This is the poorest excuse for a dealership that I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I recommend looking at other options if considering purchasing a new boat. The customer service throughout the purchase process straight through the last 3 years ownership, involving annual maintenances and add-ons has been nothing short of excellent. I've added a Minn Kota trolling motor, under water lights, a LED light-bar, spreader lights and an awesome JL Audio stereo system, all of which were installed by the service team there at Texas Marine. I have an ongoing relationship with the sales and service teams and still go to them for ideas about continued improvement to my boat. Brought my boat for repair for some minor items, annual service and a steering issue. Had it for a month without looking at it. For a new gauge, service, water pump, starter and actuator they quoted $10,500 Yes you read that correct and I did not bring in a Lamborghini I brought a 2013 ebbtide with a Volvo engine. So after bringing it to a new shop I learned that nothing they quoted actually needed to be replaced and the work that was legit was quoted at 4x the standard labor time. My boat was recently serviced for annual Maintenace by a competitor of Texas Marine - Conroe. Memorial Day weekend I was excited to finally put the boat in the water for the first time since the annual service. Soon after launching the boat a "high water temperature - over heating alarm sounded" I was only a few hundred feet from the boat ramp so, I turned the boat around and headed back to shore. I knew instantly the overheating was caused by the water pump impeller that was replaced during the annual service. The engine went into guardian mode and shut down. I jumped in the water and pulled the boat back to the boat ramp. After struggling to get the boat back on the trailer. I called Texas Marine-Conroe. Sylvana Gotte answered the phone and ask me to bring the boat in. Once there, Alex a fantastic service technician (who was on his off day) pulled the lower unit off the motor and recognized the wrong size impeller kit had been installed. Hunter Clements (Service Manager) quickly found a replacement and the boat was repaired. The boat runs great! Customer service is top notch for these folks. I feel that I need to post this review. I took my boat in for repairs on a leak on the power steering and annual service impeller (Volvo-Penta). The issue is the repair techs quote the labor and it appears it is not review for the time needed.Over charging for time required for replacing a item and not diagnosing what needs to be replaced. After review of the estimate $6,634.00. I elected to take it to a repair facility in Atascocita which was recommended. Then find out that the power steering motor checked out fine. Only needing to replace the hydraulic. arm for leaking. with all the same other repairs and LABOR the cost was $2,304.26. The service department at TX Marine-Conroe appears to be ran very go and efficient. The issue is the oversight and review of the estimated hours the mechanic bid. Also the verification process of what actually need to be repaired or replace. The new boat sales may be good. I only suggest to be Leary of the service labor charges. read more

Buyer beware! Do not buy a used boat from this place. I purchased a used boat and after one time out it was not running right. I took it in to get checked out. The number 6 cylinder is bad and the motor needs to be rebuilt. The mechanic said that if Texas marine did everything they said they did it would have not passed a compression Test like they say it did. They also said they put new plugs in it. Another lie. I have photos to prove it. The GM Johnathon's response was I should have purchased the extended warranty. Then his words were to qyore. It is kind of shady but I could go to a local dealer since I live very far from them and say I recently purchased this boat and want to purchase an extended warranty. Then wait 2-3 months and take it in and say it is not running right. So the person that runs the place his solution is insurance fraud! Steer clear of this place. They had a boat I wanted to buy posted online. I contacted one of the salemen a guy named Denver. Ive been back and forth haggling with this guy over the price for nearly a week. Finally it get to the point he wasnt budging on the proce so i gave in and told him wanted the boat. Well he tells me he has a guy coming to test drive the boat the next day that if i wanted it i can reach out to him first thing the following day and secure it with a deposit which i did. I waited exact 9 am when they open i email him to get information on how i out put a deposit on. It. No answer. I called receptionist put me throught to him i get voicemail. I attempt several more times to email and call him. Finally i just talked to another salesmen and he informs me that someone else has put a deposit on the boat. So i request to talk to Denver and he gives me a story about some guy had came in the previous day an put a deposit down on the boat. I have asked multiple time about putting a deposit down to reserve the boat because i work away and cant make it in to the shop. We tlaked for days on the matter. Worked up a value for my trade in i agree to. Work on a price that i agreed to. But when it came down to it he sold the boat out from underneath me. Didnt even have the fortitude to tell me i had to find out through another salemen AND this guy is their manager. Ive got all the conversations in email when i aksed about exactly what was said he crawfished out of it yes i was trying to get a better deal on my trade in they lowballed me pretty good. Be prepared to be screwed out of your time and money if you waste time with these guys. Used to be good dealership when Mike owned it but now it's corporate and they are all slimy snakes. They want full msrp for boats and give the " we are sold out of everything and can't keep anything on the lot" story hoping the buyer is an idiot and was born yesterday. I was quoted $48k for my 39k msrp boat then was told they "might" take $45k if I bought now since it was early December. I went to Dallas bought the exact same identical boat for 32k, sucks for me because they are 4 miles from me and I won't use them for service because since I bought my boat from a reputable dealership a few hours away they will push me to the side if I ever need service. If you are serious about a boat shop online even out of state if needed and you will save tons of cash and stress. They have dealers in Dallas Louisiana and Oklahoma that carry the same manufacturers. A guy in my FB group went to Louisiana for a Yamaha jet boat and saved 17k. I would give zero if I could. Buyer beware if you are buying a used boat from them. I purchased a used boat and after one time out was not running right.
