A quaint simple place to stop whether just for the night or a week like we did while passing through. The location is good since it's right off the freeway and you can have full hook ups if needed. The staff were very nice, the animals on the property were so sweet to see (donkey, cows, goats, sheep, ducks and chickens). We enjoyed our quiet stay and took advantage of the property a d tried to walk at least two miles a day or every other while there. Side note: the town of Shamrock is a close drive with a couple historical buildings. It's small and of course older but worth checking out. There is very good steakhouse in town called the Metropole worth eating at as well. Recommended for your rv stop over needs. read more

We just finished our 3rd stay here! It's one of our favorite places to stay when we make our cross country jaunts from MI to CA twice a year! It's very quiet, I love the animals they have, the sites are wide and long, and the prices very reasonable! Last evening we sat outside until 9 ish, in the warm breezy and beautiful Texas air! My husband and I stayed here for a night because it was convenient for the route we were on. We didn't know anything about it but we were pleasantly surprised when we got there. It's basically a little farm with chickens, goats, a couple cows, and a donkey. We loved staying here! Everything was in great condition, I'm not sure if it's a newer RV park but it seemed like it. The bathrooms were under construction but they still had one open and they were very clean. The showers weren't working but that didn't bother us. We did tent camping which is nice that they offer that. It is right off the highway so if you're a light sleeper or think the cars passing all night will bother you then I would recommend ear plugs. Overall very nice place! We would definitely stay again! read more

Super friendly reception as a driveup without a reservation. Great sites with hookups and shade. Showers were being renovated but not required for my overnight stay. Definitely recommended. Coincidentally, Krystal attended the same SoCal High School as me, small world moment. read more

Rustic spot, close to I-40 offering clean critters for the kids to enjoy viewing and a enticing array of souvenirs in the camp store. Very economical and a comfortable stop along your way west. read more

Highly recommend this RV park!! Super friendly owners and very clean. We did laundry and it was very nice. It had a great place to fold clothes. I have a 16 month old and it was by far his favorite place. They have swings, miniature goats, and chickens. They also have two underground shelters that are brand new. It was really nice considering we are RVing in tornado alley. Can't say enough good things about this place! read more

This park would have received a 5-star rating from me, except for one major thing: the shower situation. I loved everything else about it: friendly and helpful folks, wonderful grounds, fun animals, cool picture-worthy artwork, three tornado shelters, and excellent rate. However, there is only one working shower in the whole place, and it is not even kept clean. Renovations are taking place and, when complete, the new shower house/restrooms will be really nice. However, in the meantime, it wouldn't take much effort to clean the one working shower. When we stayed there were no tent campers and not much demand for showers from the big rigs. But the "high season" is coming and I'm not sure the renovations will be complete. That said, I would stay here again in the future. I thought other potential campers might want to know this information. read more

What a charming place. Open space and goats, sheep, chickens, cows and a donkey to greet you. We are in space 4 and our dog loved not only greeting the animals when we returned to the RV he just watched them play and was engrossed in the show. Peaceful and inviting and very affordable! I loved this park. The hosts were so friendly and from San Diego where we're from. We were pretty much all alone except for a few distant campers and the cows grazing in the beautiful meadow nearby. It is easily accessible from the freeway I 40 and Route 66. It is a very reasonable and comfortable setting. I didn't use the bathrooms or showers so I can't comment on that. read more

New ownership since September 2018. These folks have worked to clean up the park. Renovations on bathrooms & laundry continue as they look forward to their initial vacation season. Such nice & helpful people. Wide open space. Just outside of Shamrock on Route 66. They should do well if all remains as good as their customer service--which is excellent!! read more

I called to make reservations at this RV park and stayed there on May 13, 2019! Let me just say, it is a great RV park with so much potential. When I called, I was told the bathrooms/showers were under construction and not available. Since I travel with a bathroom, it wasn't a problems. What I loved about the park was that even though it was close to I-40, you didn't even hear the traffic! The spots were a great size with lots of grass around the DG pad. We were only one of 3 RV's there that night! They have some great swings!! It has been a while since I've been on a swing, but it was a blast and I felt like a kid again! It was one of the nicest places we stayed on our 11 state, 5,000 mile, 3 week road trip! Can't wait to see the progress the new owners make on this place! They are on the right track and I'd recommend staying there. It is a couple miles (maybe 5 miles?) west of Shamrock, TX, but it's an easy drive down I-40 or Route 66 to get there! You feel like you are camping in someone's big backyard, but with full hookups. There are neighboring cows who like to check out the RV'ers. Great sunsets and sunrises! read more

Our pull/thru spot was gravel but solid no need for blocks underneath the tires. Price was VERY reasonable. We will definitely come back here again!! read more

Park advertises pull-through sites with 50-amp power and heated swimming pool. First thing I notice is the "heated pool" is covered with black plastic and non-operational. The 50-amp receptacle at my site did not work (one leg was dead) so I had to use 30-amp instead. Bottom line, I did not get what I paid for. read more

A great little overnight stop. New owners (2 months) are working hard to restore the park after it being closed for four years. They're gutting and restoring the office, bathrooms and clubhouse. However, if you're self-contained, it's perfect overnight spot. Long pull-thrus with full hook-ups. Not a lot of spaces, as they're slowly reclaiming the overgrown sites, but what is available is fine. A perfect overnighter. I look forward to checking in in the future. read more
