Completely let down by this swim school and would give them 0 stars if I could. My daughter has…read morebeen taking swim lessons here weekly for 8 months and has hardly gained any skills. As a former competitive swimmer and swim coach for adults I should have known to cancel our lessons earlier but I continued to try to stay positive and hopeful. There is a lot of instructor turn over so they never remembered what my daughter's skill level was and asked us every lesson to fill them in. Despite asking weekly if she could move up to the next class level once she got to the required breath holding time we were told she wasn't ready. So for 8 months she was stuck in 1A as a two year old surrounded by infants. Age wise she should have been in 1B. Truly think she should have been in the other class to have older children to emulate and goals that were more age appropriate. We will be finding a new swim school that can actually teach her how to float on her own and help us feel safe with her in the pool.

He used to climbed up to the teachers' head, cried for entire the class, and refused to get down to the water. It only took 2 weeks long that the teacher , Darcy, changed him and since then he falls in love with swimming. I registered my son two classes per week, but he wants to swim more with all the teachers... Now he has been going through teachers Viennese, Kiera and Kalie. They are all so great that I couldn't say thank you enough for describing how much they have been so patient to teach my son and discovering each kid's unique swimming habit! The last but not the least, their customer service staff are very very nice and professional, too! With how many different kids come and go through the doors here, you would think it would be a…read moretotal mess. But you can tell, this place is run like perfectly planned chess match. Every person has a place to be. Managers walking around, double confirming and keeping additional sets of eyes on the water. Each teacher following a well defined script, they have thought of everything. We enrolled our son when he was 14 months and are nearly a quarter of the way through the 14 week semester. Each week, he has shown improvements, from ability to hold his breath to moving his legs under water. The instructors keep track of different metrics to make sure each kid continues to get better every week. Our class has 4 other kids, which has been the perfect number. We've been extremally happy with the Water Babies class at Emler.

Lake Georgetown is pretty nice and is in many ways better than Lake Austin depending on what you're…read moregoing for. One time I jumped in the water at Lady Bird Lake, and I got morbidly ill for days and could not get out of bed. I would highly not recommend getting in the water there. That being said, Lake Georgetown is quite different and it would seem that the water is pretty clean there. It probably goes without saying it is much less crowded than Lake Austin/Travis or anything near downtown, and it has plenty of space for picnicking, camping, fishing, and other outdoor activities. Usually I will go running around Lake Georgetown because it is much less crowded than Lake Austin, and there are shorter routes depending how far you want to run. I guess the one thing I will say is that the trails to "hike" or walk around the lake are not as established as some other hiking trails I've been on, so just be prepared for that and maybe don't wear short shorts if you're going to try any hikes around the lake.

Scheduling is a breeze and they come to you, which is ideal for us. Our instructor, Mya, has been kind and patient with our son, and he has made so much progress in only 9 lessons. Plus, this is one of the few swim schools in Austin that has a comprehensive adult curriculum. I look forward to coming here every week. Margo T. has especially been a fantastic instructor to learn from and I'm grateful for her resourcefulness and expertise. She coaches with kindness and encouragement, and she puts in extra time to find new drills for me that target my weaknesses. She is attentive in the pool and always has great feedback that helps me improve quickly. I'm so grateful for Margo and the entire Waterloo team for providing a fun and effective learning environment for adult swimmers.
