We booked this boat ride for a birthday, so it was meant to be a special experience. Overall, the…read morescenery was beautiful and the ride itself was enjoyable, but there were several issues that took away from what should have been a smooth private charter experience. The communication beforehand was not great. The driver texted me the night before around 7:45 PM, and when I replied immediately with concerns about the weather and rain, I didn't receive a response until after 10 PM. The email also stated that the driver would contact us 15-30 minutes before the reservation time, but that never happened. Our reservation was from 9:00-11:00 AM. When we arrived at 9:00, no one was there, so I had to text the driver myself. He responded saying he was getting the boat ready and putting gas in it. In my opinion, those things should have been done ahead of time so guests are properly greeted and the ride can begin on time. When we boarded, the seats and boat were still wet from the rain. Since it was chilly outside, sitting in wet seats for a two-hour ride left our clothes damp and uncomfortable. To give credit where it's due, the driver was friendly and enjoyable to talk to during parts of the ride. However, he also took phone calls during the charter, which felt distracting during what was supposed to be a private birthday outing. The biggest disappointment came on the ride back. The driver stopped to assist another boat that had already said help was on the way. He tied their boat to ours and pulled them in, which significantly took away from the private experience we had paid for. While helping others is kind, it felt inappropriate during a paid private charter, especially one booked for a birthday celebration. Additionally, the trip ran later than scheduled, and there was never any communication about the delay. Our reservation was clearly scheduled for 9-11 AM, and it shouldn't be assumed guests are okay with going over time simply because the ride started late. People may have plans afterward, and communication would have gone a long way. Overall, the lake itself was beautiful and parts of the experience were enjoyable, but the lack of communication, late start, wet boat, interruptions, and detour during our private charter made the experience fall short of expectations.

Before arriving to the dock, Trisha, who has been coordinating with us, and Brett, our captain, contacted us about half an hour ahead of time notifying us that Brett was ready for us at the lake whenever we arrived! Upon arrival, he provided a cooler with ice and water bottles for us to use to store some of our sandwiches and drinks. The boat ride was extremely smooth and he provided much insight into Lake Travis! The boat was equipped with speakers that allowed us to play our favorite songs and the slide & lily pad were a nice added touch! The girls and I thoroughly enjoyed it and the location he chose, Devil's Cove, was great for pictures and swimming. These people are pirates, don't do business with them if you can avoid it. I paid them $2000 to paint the bottom of my sailboat and they left a wide sticky strip of masking tape residue above the paint line all around the boat. Also even managed to paint above the tape in places. When I complained they did nothing. It will take me many hours to scrub that off.

We went with a four hour rental for the first half of the day and had a great time before the sun got too hot. Brindley did a great job providing instructions, giving insight on which direction to head for more adventure vs party environment, and making sure that we could connect our music to the Bluetooth sound system. The boat had plenty of benches for everyone to sit and ample storage to keep bags and towels dry. There's plenty of parking near the dock and the staff were all eager to help carry coolers and large bags to the boat. To speed up your check in process, remind your group to complete the online waiver ahead of time and make sure all of your designated drivers have their driver's license in hand. We had a crew of five celebrating our birthday girl turning FIVE, and Captain Charles made sure she felt like the queen of Lake Travis! Captain Charles wasn't just our captain--he was our photographer, videographer, DJ, entertainer, and all-around memory maker. He took so many pictures and videos while we were swimming and playing that we could actually put our phones away and enjoy the day. Talk about VIP service! Huge shoutout to Gage and Parker, too! They had everything on the boat ready to go, including BRAND NEW speakers that kept the party going all day. And let's talk about that slide... according to our 5-year-old, it was the greatest invention in human history. She would have happily slid into next week if we'd let her! Captain Charles kept everything fun, safe, and stress-free while making sure we had an unforgettable day. From start to finish, the entire experience was first class, and our family made memories we'll be talking about for years.
