Have used TSB for 15+ years and we refuse to get our cakes anywhere else. When we want something specific I always have pictures of examples to clarify. Not only is the taste amazing (party guest approved!) the have always had it done on time and just like we discussed (obviously understanding there could be some small differences). This year they went above and beyond with the ice storm and saved my daughter's 13th birthday with not only her requested perfect cake, but in such a short notice. AMAZING!!! (I think I was told Ethan or Joseph decorated, highly recommend!!!!!!!)

It's yummy for my tummy ain't no rookies at making cookies Dough you know the cookie man? Q. Where do witches bake their cookies? A. In a coven.

I ordered a red velvet cake with burgundy icing for my daughter's 18th bday. When I ordered the cake I explained my daughter would be decorating her cake and I didn't need any decoration. When I picked up the cake there was a trim on the top and bottom. After a conversation with an extremely unprofessional employee I was told by another employee, who was pleasant, they would take off the trim and ice the cake again. I should have taken a closer look when they gave it back to me. It definitely does not look like it came from a professional bakery. I'm very sad that this is what my daughter has to work with.

This bakery is used by a member of the Dallas chapter of DAR. My daughter raved about the cakes at their meetings and for her birthday, she asked if we could have a marble cake from Texas Star. I've never bought a birthday cake in my life, so I figured it was time. So for my little girls 38th birthday, she finally got a bought cake! I told them to make it an Easter decorated marble cake. Festive and fun. It was all we hoped it would be. Tons of buttercream icing and super moist, delicious cake. I made the long trek to pick it up (about 50 miles) and it was ready as promised. They were slammed because it was the Saturday before Easter and the staff was friendly and helpful with all the people showing up to get all the Easter goodies! Thanks Texas Star!

Mickey themed buttercream frosting cake! My 6 year old loved it. Thank you Texas Star for another great cake!

They did an excellent job with my sons graduation cake. Great flavor (red velvet) and perfect size for our family party.

ABOVE AND BEYOND!!!! I asked for a custom Disney Frozen cake and oh my word, it was so cute. The cake I got was better than any pic or idea I had in my head and it's been my favorite cake ordered to date! My daughter LOVED her cake and it was absolutely delicious too!

What started out as a rough cake situation ended up being one of the best tasting and cutest birthday cakes! I ordered my husbands grill cake a week before I needed it. When I went to go pick it up yesterday morning the cake was nothing like I had requested. The kind woman behind the counter could see how upset I was (I was already having a rough morning and the messed up cake was the icing on top, ha). She immediately asked if she could make it right and if I could come get it in the afternoon. She gave me a big hug and apologized for the mess up. It turned out so so cute and tasted absolutely amazing. Because she fixed the problem and was so nice about it I would recommend this bakery! Plus the cake really was delicious.

I am in love with their cakes! The lemon cupcake was very tasty and the white-on-white with strawberry filling is divine, I crave it! I like getting the 3 layer and slicing a few pieces to store (hide) in the freezer. It's been my go-to Birthday cake for the past few years. Highly recommended!

The store was very quiet, I was unsure if someone was in the shop, altogether. Once greeted, it wasn't warm (that's okay), it was more matter-of-fact. Italian Cream Cake: This happens to be one of my favorite cakes, and I couldn't wait to take it home to enjoy. Well, what do I know, it was not edible. Well, I suppose it depends on what you feel is edible vs. not edible. I took two bites and felt like I was eating a Tres Leches cake (the consistency of, definitely not the taste), if I wanted that, I would have chosen a place that is known for desert. After those two bites, I threw it away. Pecan Tart: What was this? Think of a pecan pie, that's what you found under the fruit. I don't know how to describe what that was under it, but it wasn't good and did not compliment the fruit of pecans. I can only assume the cake sat for a bit due to the level of moistness, unfortunately. I will not visit again, but as with most things, I'd suggest trying it for yourself.

Between us we ordered the Black Forest cake (which is one of my all time favorites) it was so yummy. We took home a cream horn for later, very good and we decided to try the Asian pandan cake which is green. Never had it before, it was interesting flavors a little floral and light not my favorite but still good. They were very nice and helpful and everything was a good price. They also had sandwiches and soups available to order with a little cafe seating area. I would return if in the area.

While there, a lady came in with her mother, the owner of the establishment came out to greet her in a way a friend would greet another. When you're wanting something that feels genuine and from the heart, this will be a cafe I'd recommend. Everyone, knows someone, even if meeting as strangers over coffee or nibbles of sweet pastries. Heck, you can throw in some games to that, as well. As someone stated in a previous review, it seems as if everyone who works there, truly loves being there. It isn't a chore, it isn't about rushing to get to the next drink preparation, they're, there to make sure you have the best experience in the place they nurture for others to enjoy. I appreciate that. Blueberry Matcha: I'm a fan, but not a fan of matcha. To explain, not everyone knows how to balance the taste of matcha. It's either way too earthy/gritty or not sweet enough, it has been rare that someone knows how to balance that combination. I have never tried a blueberry matcha and was excited to see this was one of our options. This was superb. The blueberry wasn't in syrup form, it was a blueberry foam that added the perfect amount of flavor and sweetness. This is something I'd get again, and again. Too many people ruin matcha's with syrup that swims on the bottom, here, not even. Seasonal: White Chocolate Rose Scone I'll admit, I'm not a scone person. The scones I've tried in the past, were hard and flaky and that's what turned me away from there. But this scone was soft and moist, I truly enjoyed every bite. I am now open to trying others, but only at this cafe. Cheddar Chive Biscuit: My favorite. Well, my favorite is their Pepper Jack Jalapeno Biscuit, so this will be my second. I warmed it up and added a touch of butter, OOOHHWEEEE, it more than hit the spot. I can't wait to have one again. With this latest visit, I learned they alternate their biscuits monthly and they have calendars available to remind their patrons. There are several I'd love to try and thankfully, they're being served on my days off. This is such a beautiful establishment, that's inside and out.
