Originally I would say that TSTC is great, and as for their office staff who gets you set up they truly are. If you're just wanting to get basics out of the way then I would say this is an okay place to do so, but if you are considering the nursing program I would NOT recommend it. Not all instructors are bad, but the head director of the program is not always fair to students. She picks and chooses who she will help and for my own experience it was the white girls in my class getting help that we were told was not allowed. I went to student services and was basically given no answers for the way I was treated. I am including what I sent out and what the response was. I would say do not waste your time or money here in the nursing program. Go somewhere else where you are valued and respected. It takes a lot to be a nursing student and having someone in charge of the program who doesn't care about all of her students in the same way is just not a safe place to be in.

Came here to check out some of their programs and meet their instructors & students and tour the facility and was VERY impressed. Texas State Technical College is not the most glamerous of college campuses but they mean business here and their education and career readiness is right up their with anyone's. What is NOT up their with everyone elses is their cost of tuition. You can get a great education here without feeling like you are going into a debt vortex from which you may never recover from. Their educational prices, especially in relation to income earning potential seem to make this school a great choice for many budgets. I was especially impressed with with their Automotive Technology and Collision programs. Their instructors are former industry and their curriculum was impressive. In addition to general programs, they offer manufacturer programs like Lexus/Toyota, General Motors, and Chrysler. If you are considering schools, don't heitate to check this institution out!

Good school, has a great placement rate. You're almost sure to be making a lot of money right out of school.

I won't tell you everything they do to keep it a surprise but it'll probably be your nicest college tour. Baylor was a beautiful campus and looks to be an amazing place to go to college. My daughter is still making her decision but very impressed with Baylor.

I lived in Waco for nearly 15 years on the faculty at Baylor University and thus have a deeper…read moreunderstanding of Baylor, than its pretty grounds and buildings. Baylor is a highly Christian and conservative university and has low tolerance for other religions and lifeways. It has a strange selective hiring practice in which your religion, faith, and beliefs are more important than academic abilities. Academic excellence takes a back seat to cultural and religious conformity at Baylor. I do not think the current $70-80 k/year price tag for Baylor is worth it, when a better education can be delivered for a fraction of the cost by excellent State schools. Too many of the Baylor students come from a narrow demographic of very well-off families, 75% from Texas. Waco is a dry, dull and staid place to live and often the student population ventures to Austin or Dallas on weekends. If sports, is your sole interests, than Baylor/Waco may be more attractive. I advise caution going to Baylor because behind the groomed grounds, and plastered smiles there is a monolithic religious culture that is unwelcoming to diversity and differences, that are common among use. I question the quality and meaning of higher education under such narrow strictures.
