These folks are so wonderful. Michelle and Dr Brown planned and organized a class to teach the public about caring chickens. There are not many Vet Clinics that will even see our chickens and this Vet office cares enough to do a whole class for us They did this after hours on a Saturday for free. When I arrived to Texas Veterinary Hospitals in Fredericksburg road with the dog still breathing I was informed by their front desk personnel that I needed a $300 dollar deposit in order to give the dog emergency treatment. I informed the Texas Veterinary Hospitals front desk personnel that I was able to pay later on today, I only need to call my wife in order to get the money. They refused to treat the dog even after telling them several times that I was willing to pay today for the emergency service that the dog needed. Sadly the dog died. I tried to contact Dr Mixon for this issue and he did not answer. read more

Dr. Mixon and his staff at Military Drive and this location took excellent care of our two special needs dogs we adopted from ACS. I used this location for boarding after moving from the Thousand Oaks location. Our primary clinic is on Northwest Military. Dr. Mixon and his staff helped us greatly with our blind girl, Sissy, and Vinnie who had IVDD, and later he developed cancer. I wouldn't take my animals anywhere else. One of the doctors here is an avid hunter, an odd and disconcerting hobby for a veterinarian. I've been coming here for a while, spent thousands of dollars, and am fed up with the poor service. They charge $12 to print a paper prescription if you don't use their pharmacy. The doctor won't ask for your pet's history and will interrupt you when talking. Was told my animals need another physical exam just to receive booster vaccines when they'd just had an unremarkable physical exam there 3 weeks prior. One of the girls at the front counter is rude and condescending and will argue with you without verifying facts. That wouldn't be such a big deal, except she is the longest tenured tech and is teaching all the new people that the customer is always wrong. I've requested they trim my pets nails during the exam, been charged for the service, and then discovered it was not done. Bought some flea medication from them, requested one month and got charged for two months but only given one month of medication. Be very careful with these people and always double check their work unless you don't mind being overcharge read more

This cheap ssa place stole from me. You know a place is full of red flags when you get a job there despite ghosting them in the past on 2 separate occasions. I was in dire need of a job so I took a pay cut in comparison to my normal wage range out of desperation. After working two dreadful days there I was let go due to having a "chip on my shoulder" solely in response to requesting more training. ''Twas a blessing in disguise nonetheless. However, weeks go by and I never received any form of payment for my 2 and a quarter shifts I worked there. I tried contacting a manager thru text and was blocked. I left a voicemail asking about my paycheck to no response. Weeks later, a second manager texts me to pickup a paycheck from their sister location that was an extra 15 minutes out for me. I was informed of the clinic's hours the day I was going and was not so surprised to find out the clinic was closed that day I showed. I've attempted to reach out to that same manager, giving them my updated address to send me the check that should've been in my account about 3 weeks now. As they have been helpful and very kind in the past I recently needed emergency services for my long time kitty. The surgery was done and we brought kitty home. Soon after the surgical stitches were removed. I personally thought early but I'm not the vet. 2 days after the stitched were removed the surgery failed. We were back to square one after a $1300 +. surgery. I called and was told the cat needed to be put down. These things happen. With assurance kitty was not in pain or suffering I said give me a few days to say good by to my 14 yr old friend and I would be calling them. Well, with home care the problem corrected itself for a week then relapsed and again corrected... Then relapsed. I called to ask the fee for euthanasia and wanted to ask for a quite time and more information but when they answered the phone I could hear the receptionist talking loudly and not to me. She then ask what she could help me with as if she had other things to get to. I started to explain who we, I and my cat and wanted information on ... And I was immediately interupted 3 times with did I want an appointment, did I want to talk to the doctor, to had I ever been seen there before. I was trying to explain my grief and just kept getting bulldozed over. I simply wanted to know the price of euthanasia and a quite time would be quiet. What would it entail and could I bring my 14 yr kitty home to have cremated. I was not given a caring or warm feeling and had to hang up. I'm not rushing to pay anyone to uncaringly euthanize my family pet. I them went to email so I could better explain and NOT feel I wanted to yell shut up and listen to MY NEEDS. They have yet to return a reply, email, text or call. Sadly after many years of using this vet with multiple pets I feel I can find better compassion else where and won't be back. Another 24 hours after a yelp review and STILL NO call or email. So uncaring. To think they see my colony cats 8+ my pets 6 +my akc Rotty and many referrals and friends. It not even a check their email or yelp reviews is totally disconnected from the customers they claim to care about. read more

When walking my dogs this morning, 05/17/22, I found two elderly chihuahua's abandoned on the sidewalk in a kennel with a bag of dog food on top. Little food and no water in the kennel. I called Texas Veterinary hospital and spoke with Bianca. She said that there's nothing they could do and the animal shelter opened at 1:00. In San Antonio today at 1:00 will be about 90°. I couldn't take them in my apartment because i have a Bulldog that's not very dog friendly. Finally I called the police and they came and took care of the pups. I thought veterinary hospitals were supposed to be animal lovers, but apparently not this one. Biancas attitude was that I was bothering her and she wanted me off the phone. I would never trust this place with the care of my dogs, and in my opinion neither should anyone else. read more

This facility is all about the money. I am 77 yrs old and have a 50 lb 15 y/o collie with arthritis. The vet refused to give me a prescription for Betagen (a topical med with gentamycin & betamethasone for a skin condition) for my collie because she had not been seen in the last year. I explained my dog and I both have arthritis and I could not get her into my car. I even said I would pay for her to write the prescription. She would not accommodate me. I will not go back. Also. I could never get out of there without spending 2-3 hundred dollars. I booked grooming with them and it cost me $150.00 because they said my dog had to have xyz shots, etc, just to get groomed. The next time they said I had to have her checked for worms and take worm meds before she could be groomed and it cost me another $149.00. I haven't been back and will never recommend them. read more

Visits to the vet are always stressful, but our dog actually likes coming here to the Fredericksburg Road clinic. The staff do their best to make him feel calm and comfortable. They give clear explanations and detailed estimates of treatment, and they work with us to keep things affordable. We've been coming here for several years now. Cant trust these money hungry blood sucking vampires. Not once did they explain to me the possible side effects of BRAVECTO (THE FLEA MEDICINE). I was only told it was perfectly safe and that they use it on their dogs and that there was nothing to worry about. Not once was it mentioned that it is an insecticide/pesticide verbally, or visually on the box label. Im sure if they did that they wouldnt sell as much. We trusted you, and you smiled in our faces while you just lied to get a couple hundred bucks from us. Even when we came back to you with our sick dog, you just shrugged your shoulders and said that you didnt know what was wrong and we should go to a neurologist. Just kept your lips shut for a couple of bucks at the cost of our loved ones lives. When you look up the word veterinarian, it says your a doctor for animals and you care for their health. You shouldnt call yourself a vet with this type of unethical practice. Your just salesmen/women. PEOPLE DO YOUR RESEARCH. THERE IS AN ONGOING CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST THIS DRUG.YOU ARE GAMBLING WITH YOUR PETS LIVES!Unfortunately we live in an age where you cant take it for granted that any of these poop stains that call themselves doctors OF ANY TYPE are always looking out for your best interest. Hi..first of all I would like say the staff and Dr Larry Pearson DVM are truly professional and know their business when it comes to customer service and knowledge when it comes to the caring of your furry family members and highly recommend them as in my situation with my cat had been not feeling well for the past month off and on he would vomit some days and other days he was ok so I had tried everything I could think of to try and help him I changed his feeding times,amount of food, but nothing i did seem to help and so forth and I was concerned and worried about him and with the covid-19 going on and not having my car as it was being serviced at the time I was desperate to get him to the vet..luckily this clinic was walking distance from my house so I took him early on July 14,2020 and it turned out to be the best decision that I made that day and after the exam and treatment of my old fluffy cat and recommended treatment plan was discussed over the phone with Dr.Pearson I am very satisfied with the results that my cat is doing much better and is eating with no after effects and no more discomfort thank you guys at Texas veterinary hospital!! read more

Dr. Brown and his staff are awesome. I brought my cat in for a checkup and I am very happy with how well they treated me and my baby. We were seen right away, the staff is patient and courteous. Dr. Brown and his staff were wonderful with my latest experience. My 14 year old fell ill last week and we took her in because she stopped eating. Dr. Brown found that she had several tumors, possibly cancer. Her prognosis was not good and Dr. Brown was very gentle but honest about next steps we could take. Due to her age and the risk of surgery, we opted to make her as comfortable as possible and let her live out her final days in peace. He gave us pills to help stimulate her appetite and told us to give her whatever she wanted. I called the office a couple of days later to ask if Dr. Brown would make a house call and euthanize her at home. He said he would and said he'd be on stand by when we needed him. Unfortunately, her time was much shorter than we anticipated as she was unable to control her bladder, and didn't want to eat and stopped drinking water. Dr. Brown and one of his technicians came to our house this morning and were so incredibly kind and gentle - it was such a blessing that my sweet girl passed at home and very peacefully. I am forever grateful that my baby girl passed with dignity and her human family around her. read more

I've had multiple issues with this place. I originally chose it because I had found a 4 week old kitten who needed to see a vet right away and they are open on weekends. The kitten clearly had a respiratory infection and an eye infection yet the vet told me that the respiratory infection would clear up on it's own and that the eye looked funny because she was a siamese mix. I went in the next week because everything got worse and a different vet (who only works there 2 days a week) immediately looked at her and knew she needed medication. She was much better within a couple weeks. My kitten is now 6 months and I took her there to get spayed last Friday and the incision site looks horrible done. I took her in Monday because the incision site looked really red and funky. The vet told me it was nothing. I called again today to say that the incision now smells fishy and was told that it doesn't concern her unless there is discharge. I'm not a vet but even I know a fishy smell is not normal. I called my vet in Cypress and sent a picture and they immediately said she has an infection and to take her in. I'm not going back to this place ever again and I've already made an appointment at another vet. I do not recommend this place to anyone. read more
