The lady on the other end of the line proceeded to hang up on him after he rescheduled his appointment. We've been going here for years and it's a shame they don't know how to treat customers who have health issues. Do better.

I walked in right on time. Filled out a short new patient form, handed it back within a few minutes I was called over for a quick check then the doctor took me right away. The doctor was nice and quick. I didn't feel rushed at all, I was in there maybe 15-20 minutes TOP! The price is amazing, plus you leave with a free pair of contacts if you get the glasses & contact special. I have definitely found my new eye doctor.

I have received what I would call the gold standard of medical care there--competent, compassionate people doing difficult work exceptionally well. Five stars. No hesitation. And then the handle swings the other direction. My latest adventure began with a broken bone that would benefit from the quaint old medical practice known as treatment. I drove in for an appointment Baylor Scott & White had scheduled, only to be informed that the doctor they scheduled me with doesn't do hands. Excellent. Apparently somewhere in the machinery of modern medicine, I had failed to verify that the specialist selected by the hospital was, in fact, a specialist capable of treating the body part attached to my arm. So I was sent home to await a call from the on-call doctor so I could be rescheduled. Five hours later: silence. I can only assume the orthopedic emergency command center suffered a catastrophic communications failure--or somebody's tee time came up. The final accounting: an 80-mile round trip and roughly four hours burned out of the finite supply of life allotted to me, all to discover that the doctor I had been sent to was the wrong doctor. Then we arrive at the grievance process, where the comedy becomes almost artistic. The Patient Rights material cheerfully encourages patients to file grievances with the "clinical manager." Wonderful. Who is the clinical manager? Apparently this is classified information. The person is not identified anywhere I can find. Then there is Patient Advocacy, a department that appears to function less like an advocacy office and more like an astronomical black hole: complaints enter, light bends, time stops, and nothing ever comes back out. I have some experience with this phenomenon. I'm still waiting for a meaningful response to complaints I raised roughly three months ago. At this point, I'm not sure whether they're investigating them or aging them in oak barrels. And that is the maddening thing about Baylor Scott & White. Parts of this enormous medical machine are superb. You encounter nurses, doctors, technicians, and staff who leave you genuinely grateful such people chose medicine. They are skilled, kind, attentive, and worth every one of those five stars. Then, without warning, you wander through another door and find yourself trapped in a bureaucratic fever dream where appointments lead to doctors who don't treat your injury, nobody seems responsible for anything, and "patient advocacy" has all the responsiveness of a mailbox painted onto a brick wall. So how do I rate Baylor Scott & White? That's easy. Five stars when they're hot. One star when they're cold. And God help you if you turn the faucet expecting one and get the other.

Instead of investigating a complex, distressing, and very real medical issue, the doctors completely dismissed my symptoms and actively questioned my credibility as a patient.When a patient advocates for necessary medical help, they should be met with diagnostic curiosity and empathy, not accusations or being made to feel like they are faking an illness. This dismissive attitude turned an already stressful health situation into an emotional nightmare.Furthermore, the administrative side of this practice is highly unresponsive, making it nearly impossible to get in touch with staff or fix administrative errors. I cannot recommend this practice for anyone looking for reliable, collaborative, or empathetic healthcare.

I went into the office for a retina exam. My dermo called in the referral, when I arrived the…read morefront desk said, "oops, no one verified your referral, but you should be good." I saw the doctor, did the eye exam, and paid my copay, the doctor was amazing. One week later I get a phone call from the front office asking for a PCP referral, which at this time, they cannot back date it. Today I get a phone call from Mackenzie at the front office, and she admitted on the phone, that it was her office staff's mistake, they should have verified and I should not have been seen at all. She then proceeds to tell me that I can speak to her manager, which then she stated her manager was in a meeting, however I will owe because the insurance referral wasn't in place. I told her I didn't feel that was right since it was her office staff's mistake, her response was that I can just deal with the insurance bill and take it up with insurance from here on out, and she hung up on me! I never once raised my voice, used foul language, I simply stated she had just admitted it was her staff's fault, so why should I owe for a bill when it was the employees fault they should have checked as the insurance verification team. I have never been spoken to or hung up on by an employee. Do not go here if you don't want a surprise insurance bill since their employees don't check properly before their appointments.

My…read morewife added me to her insurance, and I was able to go to Kings Daughter and fortunate enough to see Dr. Mattson. She restored my faith in doctors, and helped me tremendously. When I went in I had lost 50 lbs . (180-130lbs, 5'11") and it was painful even to drink water. My Dr. at S&W was an incompetent idiot and saw me as a commodity instead of a patient. Her only concern wasn't my health, but how much money she could make off of me. Dr. Mattson quickly realized I had GERD and put me on Nexium which immediately ended several years of pain. She discovered I had diabetes, high blood pressure and a few other problems, She also took me seriously and referred me to a neurologist who diagnosed me with early onset Parkinson's Disease. My previous doctor at S&W hadn't noticed any of those things, would not listen to me, didn't care and told me I just wanted drugs. I never imagined a doctor could change your life so much for the better or worse. I appreciate so much that doctor Mattson was there to help me improve my quality of life. Dr. Mattson is one of the most pleasant, down to earth doctors I've ever met. Occasionally I had to wait to see the doctor as she was running late, but that never bothered me because I knew that when it was my turn, I would have Dr. Mattson's full attention for as long as I needed it, too. This isn't a doctor that rushes in, gives you antibiotics or something and herds you back out in five minutes; this is a doctor who really cares and actually listens. I don't see dr. Mattson much anymore because she is nearly impossible to get in to see. Word has spread about how wonderful she is, and she is extremely busy. When I do get to see her, it always makes me happy just to see her friendly smile. Over the years, I have shared a lot of laughs and tears in her office, and I will always appreciate Dr. Mattson for not only being a great doctor; but also a great woman
