My choice for accommodations was the rock Springs KOA Which was situated literally in the shadow of about 10 giant petroleum tanks or drive 25 minutes south into flaming gorge national recreation area. Well I chanced it and I'm glad I did. Spacious campsites with roomy covered picnic tables and inground fire pits. One of the two bathrooms was closed when I visited but that was not really much of an inconvenience. The showers were acceptable but certainly not super high end. Beautiful high desert area on the green river the views were incredible. So, these views, not another camper for 50 yards and the coyotes howling all night! I will definitely make a point to come back here.

It has everything you need - gas, very comfortable lodging (including for RVs if you're carrying your own lodging), a general store, restaurant, bar, and soft serve. There is enough pavement around the property to get a decent walk in. The value for what you get in lodging is far and away the best I've seen in years. No IKEA furniture falling apart in the closet here (throwing shade at Marriott chains in this price range). There's a wood dresser, solid beds with comfortable mattresses, many different types of pillows, comfortable seating, a LOT of space, a real bathtub, and multiple sinks (in and out of the bathroom). We stayed for a full day and 2 nights during a snowstorm. They are very efficient in removing snow so people can move around both with their vehicles and feet. There is nothing to DO here, but you can eat at the restaurant nearly 24/7 and they do have a pretty typical hotel gym. We saw the manager responding to a complaint about a dog that had been left alone in a room and was barking up a storm at 10pm. There is at least one entire building where pets aren't allowed, so if you're not interested in ending up like the poor guy making the complaint, ask the desk clerk about availability in the pet-free building(s) when you call for reservation or check in.

I ordered a couple "Baked Potatoes ". We asked the young lady behind the counter for some butter and she looked at us like we had three heads and said " no, we don't have that". Well, we sat down only to find that the potatoes came out lukewarm at best's and for $30.00 for baked potatoes, hell no. Walked up to the pick up window and told the same girl about the issue the girl but couldn't figure out what to do so I asked for the manager. There was another kid making food who said " we put them in the warmer for 15 minutes". Wrong answer. As I was gathering the food to take care of it in my RV, the kid walks up within a foot of my head a shouts at the top of his lungs a customers name. Needless to say he was within 30 seconds of meetings Jesus. The managers answer to this was to say " Tony, please use the intercom when announcing orders". This will be the last time I'll stop here or just long enough to get some rest and NOT patronize them so I'm not so sure this is what the owners would want. The owner was a very nice man that showed us around room and all amenities. Personal Service! It's old BUT has everything you need. Good lighting, excellent soft and fluffy linens, good tv, clean and very comfortable. The only reason I didn't give it 5***** is simply because they don't offer coffee in room or lobby. I'll be back though. Watch out for the summer rodeos fill all places up!

I wish I could remember the name of the towing service we used to get here as we got into a minor car accident outside of Green River on the way to Salt Lake City and needed to be towed back into town to stay the night and get our car checked out in the morning. I requested for us to be dropped off for a night at the Hampton Inn, however the tow truck driver refused and essentially forced us to support this business. I absolutely understand and support buying local and supporting local businesses. HOWEVER, that should not be at the expense of quality, especially in terms of overnight accomodations. Sure it was cheap. I'll give them that. We would've rather spent the extra money for comfort. This motel was extremely bare minimum, no frills. It felt dated and dirty and all we wanted to do was leave. (We were carless and it was late, so we really couldn't.)
