Been going here for a while to get our pool taken care of. Initially, we had a good experience, aside from us not being able to purchase the quantity of chemicals we needed due to a "shortage" (we experienced this problem nowhere else). We have dumped hundreds of dollars in chemicals into our pool at their recommendation with seeing little to no positive results in the quality of our pool water. We eventually went elsewhere and with one of their recommended treatments, our pool was in top shape in no time. A couple weeks ago, we scheduled someone from TEXSUN pools to clean our filters. We were told that we would get a call that Friday to confirm the appointment (with no mention as to when the actual appointment was). Time passed and we never heard from them. We asked another company to come out and clean the filters since we were ghosted. Today, while I was away from home. Someone came by and said they were here to clean the filters. My husband not knowing what was going on and not able to get a hold of me, told them to proceed to the backyard to do what they needed to do. He texted me that they were here and I immediately called their customer service. I told them that it wasn't appropriate for them to show up a week late to a job with no phone call to confirm. The gentleman who was washing the filters, that were already clean, finished up right after I got home. In the meantime, I was on the phone with their customer service. They blamed it on me not answering my phone. I confirmed my number with them and they took it down incorrectly. Hence, me not getting a phone call to confirm. It was my understanding after the call with customer service that I wouldn't be getting charged since they showed up late and with no warning. When the gentleman finished putting our equipment together, he knocked on our front door expecting payment. I reluctantly paid ($129), knowing I would never do business with them again. Bottom line is you can go ANYWHERE else and get a better experience, and more knowledgeable employees. Needless to say I will never return to their location in The Woodlands. read more

Been using TexSun for all chemicals & repairs for the past 10 years. Dropped off polaris on a Monday morning and was told that there were a few in front of us. I call on Thursday to check on it & they hadn't ever looked at it. I called back again on Saturday & they haven't looked at it. He was obliviously irritated with me calling to check on the status & RUDELY told me that he would call me when they get to it and that Saturday's are quite busy & they probable wont get to until next week. I went by the next morning (Sunday) & took to a competitor. It was ready by Monday afternoon. I can deal with the delays, I will not tolerate rudeness. read more

We have used this location for several years and have always had a great experience. We were owners of an authorized BioGuard swimming pool business for more than twenty years so we have always been easy customers, we don't need advice and we always buy most of are chemicals for the whole season. However today we went to this location and we were treated very rudely by the man behind the counter and also a man stocking inventory who had to keep taking his earbuds out to even talk to us. We understand about the chlorine shortage and a lot of other issues due to COVID. We we're actually told we could only buy 6 bags of shock that was the store limit. The man with the earbuds even wanted to argue with us about sticks vs tablets. I think the new employees really need to be trained in customer service. What happened to the customer is always right?? All we had to do was go about a mile down the road to another BioGuard dealer and we're able to buy everything we needed!! The owners need to realize a few bad employees can ruin your business!! read more

This company wanted $99 just to give me an estimate for installing in-ground LED pool lights. Just to make the effort to drive and give their price!! I hope this company folds!!! Who needs this? If Texsun Pools & Spa were a good broker and honest, they would let their work speak for itself. Must be nice to be so picky. Thank goodness there are many more honest companies who do not require spending one-hundred hard earned dollars to garner their business. The others deserve your business. We got a new spa and I was ordering most of my chemicals from Amazon. I was at this strip mall and walked by this pool store so I stopped in. So, far I have been in there 3 times and every time I was helped by friendly staff that knew what they were talking about. Their prices on chemicals was the same or cheaper than Amazon and they have free water sampling to tell you exactly how your spa water is doing. I'm glad I found this place and will keep coming here. read more

Stay away from Texsun. Spent $800 for a Polaris pool vacuum, and the filter keeps falling off in the pool (has happened 3 times now). I've had it for a little bit over a month, and it is under the 90 day exchange policy that Texsun has, but they refuse to replace it with another one! Its ridiculous that such an expensive machine that is already not functioning properly after such a little amount of time, and Texsun is refusing to adhere to their own policy!!! The manager is unhelpful and dishonest, and I highly recommend you go elsewhere (Leslie's) for your pool supplies. I will be dealing with my credit card company to deal with this scam. read more

Went into the Research Forest branch in the Woodlands to buy 4 new pool filters. After paying for them I commented they were 30% more expensive than what I could get online but I was buying at their store to get the filters sooner. Store representative Chris retorted that customers should pay to keep storefront businesses afloat otherwise they would close. After a few more comments from Chris that the customer was not always right and customers should pay to keep their business afloat, I decided that this store was not where I wanted to spend my $250 and cancelled my purchase. Service was condescending (I'm female and Asian) and value for money was not evident. Will not be returning to Texsun woodlands. read more

Unfortunately, due to the poor weekly maintenance and overall bad job of maintaining our pool equipment, we discontinued using TexSun Pools. I never knew which location our service was associated with, though. The inside administrative maintenance staff (Kathy) was very friendly. But the outside service providers were poorly trained and did not complete the maintenance process. We used this company 3 years and frequently had to call alerting them of algae in our pool which is barely 6 years old. The techs did not always report problems with the pool or its equipment to the TexSun service department. Often they would leave the pool equipment control box open, exposed to rain; or turn a switch off and forget to turn it back on. After retirement, I was able to observe the pool tech. TexSun advised us that the tech should check the pool chemicals balance, clean out the skimmers, then brush and vacuum the entire pool (a process of ~45 minutes). Our tech never vacuumed and only spot brushed the algae caused by his inability to get the pool water chemical balance correct. On average, he spent 15 minutes on our pool and 10-20 minutes in his truck on his phone. After changing to another company, within a week our pool has no algae and is crystal clear. read more

My pool cleaner was still under warranty (purchased at this store) and needed major repairs. Great. It was covered. However apparently even though the store has all the parts needed because its under warranty they had to be the parts mailed to them by Polaris. Would take a week to receive. They couldn't apparently use the parts in store and then simply replace them with the parts ordered. So its been 12 days and I'm still waiting for the repair to take place. I have spoken with several in the store already. Was promised a call from the manager, but so far, nothing. I would have expected that instead of being postponed by this delay since I did purchased the product from them, they would have done everything to get me up and running as fast as possible but I guess not. read more

Was talked into trying synthetic sand, made our pool turn green. Was told sand would be replaced free of charge but then had to pay $385 for labor. Had to run pool 24/7 for two weeks, shock daily and add multiple bottles of yellow out along with backwashing daily. This synthetic sand disaster has cost us well over $700 with shock, yellow out, labor and cost of running pool 24/7. Have called multiple times about this and do not get calls returned. Have used Texsun for more than twenty years, after this we will never use again. read more

I've concluded the manager needs to get into another line of work. Not customer service. In the end, he corrected my equipment failure and did not charge me for a $20 part. To review...he became exasperated with my question on my broken part by saying "you people" come in here and drive me crazy!" I replied I merely wanted the right part for my pool equipment. After some attempt at reasoning, he asked me to take my broken part and go to a competitor. After taking the time to listen, he looked at the product and the price in the catalog. He said he now understood the "miscommunication". He offered a free fix, stated I needed a new part, and assembled the part to my equipment. I responded that I owed only $20 for the part? He said "no, you're good to go". Until now, this store has been my exclusive source of pool parts and service since Aug 2014. The friendly staff from my past visits were not there. The "new" staff is not willing to listen to customer questions until after they tell them to go to a competitor...only then to look at the facts in their own catalog, answer the question, and correct the problem. read more

My Polaris 280 was functioning pretty well, but I took it for a free check-up anyway during Texsun's Polaris Days promotion and was shocked to get it back with a quote for $210 in repairs! And that was after a 10% Polaris promotional discount off the original bill. According to the analysis I needed a Swivel Ball Bearing, Backup Valve, Pressure Relief Valve, Jet Thrust Repair Kit, Water Management System and a new set of tires! I did need tires (which was obvious without the "professional" inspection) but I balked at the long list of other supposed parts needing replacement and walked out. I bought the tires for $16.95 on Amazon rather than the $37 "discounted" price Texsun was charging. When I put the Polaris back in the pool it was no longer functioning properly. It barely moved. I went to Leslie's to get a new water management system (to start replacing the less expensive parts on the repair list), and the wonderful, knowledgeable woman there said "Hmm, these don't usually break. Let me test your Polaris and see if you really need a new water mgt system. As soon as she removed the top cover and looked inside it was obvious that the hose that sends water through the interior system had been disconnected and the plastic ties were gone. She reconnected the hose and tested my system. Everything worked beautifully and she didn't charge me a dime. NO repair parts necessary! I have been using the Polaris for about a month now without any problems whatsoever. Texsun committed outright fraud when then attempted to get me to buy an expensive bunch of parts that I did not need at all. I shudder to think that someone may have deliberately disconnected the hose to get me to buy their parts. Do not let them take advantage of you! I have also gotten many questionable pool chemistry readings at Texsun. Most recently I was told my total Cl was 8 and total alkalinity was 44, which seemed strange, since I had just added bicarb the day before, my chlorinator was on 3, and the weather was sunny. Rather than add the 20 lbs of Alkalinity Up they recommended, I checked the total alk with my home kit 1/2 hr later. It was 90 and Cl was 3, which was more in line with what I expected! I will never buy anything at Texsun again. I have had some pretty unprofessional and poor advice from Leslie's in the past too, but I will go back there from now on and seek out this employee in particular for trustworthy advice. read more

My pool went from nightmare to a dream thanks to Julie and Matt at the store in cochranes crossing. I was working with their competition for two weeks and over $500 later, my pool did not change at all. The people at Leslie pools were abrasive, rude, and just kept packing me with more chemicals instead of taking the time to listen to my problem. Out of desperation I went to Texsun Pools and what a difference. As soon as I mentioned what was going on, they wanted to know more to assist me. They offered several options and took the time and expressed the same concern as I in getting this pool clean. In less than a week and for less than $100 my pool went from green to clean. I will never go back to Leslie again after seeing what "real" customer service is like. You guys helped me and I am forever grateful. Thank You! read more

We hired Texsun pools to renovate our pool and it was a disaster. I agree with James on one thing, they all need to go into a new line of work because customer services is not even in their vocabulary. We paid them thousands of dollars, they did the work incorrectly, we ended up with the concrete all around out pool cracking, I called repeaded times for it to be fixed. I was always told, they would come out and figure out what to do. Meanwhile, year after year passed, I called, heard the same story, they were going to figure out what to do. The crack got bigger until it circled my whole pool. Bear in mind the pool had been in for thirty years, no cracks until they came. In the beginning I was told that a substance should have been put in between the flagstone and the concrete when they replaced the flagstone, because that did not happen, it started the cracking. Because it took years for someone to come and figure it out, it kept cracking. Finally last year I called and the department supervisor came out and gave me his work he would get the problem fixed and do so before this years pool season, probably in March. Well they just came yesterday, June 6 after repeated calls again to his office, and they filled the crack in so I know have a visible squiggly line around my pool. It is an eyesore. The supervisor showed up today because I called yesterday to complain about how it was being repaired. Said it was all he could do. I told him for the thousands I had spent, my pool area looked horrible and I wish I had never selected them. He tried to give some ridiculous excuse and I calmly asked him to leave. He then walked away saying something under his breath that it had been six years!!! Yes I had tried to get help all of that time, and no one came, cared or responded. I told him that as he walked away and he said there was no reason to shout. Oh my gosh, seriously. If you are thinking of using these guys to remodel your pool, do not. You may as well burn your money. Every time I have called them I have either been ignored or treated in a very rude manner.
