Bottom line you have no intention of making good on your offer to clean up the awful mess you made. Approximately a week ago I asked you if you were confident you could correct the mess you made. You never responded. That is not the posture of a man who regrets what he has done. In your initial response you suggested 2 options (.... I would like to offer full repair at no additional cost to you to help make things right or a partial refund.... Please let me know what feels fair to you, and how best we can proceed.). I think it is in both of our best interests to end this project on friendly terms. Instead of a partial refund, please return all of the money. I will need it to hire someone to clean up what you did, buy additional materials and then complete the job correctly. And here's the kicker, you used tunnel vision on this project. I am a senior citizen with friends, family and I belong to several organizations. One of the most common conversations I hear is 'I wish I had a reliable, handyman, I could trust'. As young parents with a newborn, we experienced multiple accounts of landlord negligence, unprofessionalism and unsolved issues that at one time left us, unwarned, without water. During the time I rented from him, Guy had companies coming after him to get paid (roofing, water, pest control that I knew about). If his work ethic, attitude, and cruel nature displayed in his rental property business carried over to his construction business, then I am seriously warning you, RUN.
