Beautiful decor and meticulously clean dining area! Service was excellent, I was seated right away. First time here, so I had questions about lunch, special options. My servers were very attentive and answered questions, sharing with me their favorites. I ended up getting Pad See U with a level 2 spice. It definitely had a good chili kick, but I think I could handle a 3 to 4 level next time. My oldest child is a huge fan of spice, I cannot wait to bring him back here so he can test out the level 5 and see if it's hot enough!

My favorite Thai restaurant in Madison. This used to be closer to me. I would often order the evil jungle noodle for delivery. I have never been to the new location until recently. Their spring rolls are tasty and have the perfect dipping sauce. The Evil Jungle was delicious, but way too much vegetables and not a lot of noodles. Their sticky rice with mango is a nice dessert to end your meal. The service was great and server went over and beyond. Very charming location, nice place for a date night or small group.

So delicious! This is my go-to spot in Madison for Thai food. The service is very friendly and lovely and the food is so good. My favorite dishes are the Pad See Ew and Khao Soi. My friends and I also enjoy the Pad Thai and Pineapple Fried Rice. The only thing that was just okay was the coconut ice cream (I did love the jellies that came on it though). Highly recommend this place :)

I had a delightful dinner here at Thai Basil! I got the crispy spring rolls and drunken noodles (with level two spice). Both were so, so delicious. The other person in my party got the pad thai and loved it as well! Our waiters were super friendly! The restaurant itself is so cozy, yet elevated. I would definitely recommend dining here if you are looking for some stellar Thai food!

I had the pad Thai. The beef was tough and the noodles tasted like they were coated in ketchup. But they were fast enough and gave plenty of food.

The spring roll appetizer was not good. The inside was just mushy and not fresh. The noodles were a little salty but a great portion. The curry had good flavor and was also a nice portion for the price. Overall not bad for a Thai place, decent flavor and solid price to portion ratio. They were also very quick and friendly.

New place on university ave a block from Bagels Forever. Good Thai food and quick service. Perfect for this area. There is a bar where singles can sit and they do have a couple of beers and wine. Only minor complaint was the silver wear. They are Gold and the handles are round and slippery and hard to hold. Get chopsticks if you can handle them.

We stopped tonight for dinner and weren't disappointed. The interior is decorated in a colorful and modern way. It was a hot day and staff was quick to supply cold water and refill our carafe. Food options were plentiful. Many Vegetarian options! The staff were super sweet and service was great! We will definitely be back!

First time a friend and I visited this restaurant. To kick things off, we savored the Paradise Wings--crispy, batter-fried chicken wings soaked in a special sweet and spicy sauce. For my main course, I opted for the Chicken Pad Thai, a delightful mix of pan-fried thin rice noodles, onions, eggs, bean sprouts, sweet radish, and tender chicken. Washed it all down with a refreshing lime iced tea. Every dish exuded freshness, arrived piping hot, and burst with delicious flavors. The staff's hospitality added to the wonderful experience. Foodie pro-tip: They offer a lunch menu from Tuesday to Friday, 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM--worth exploring!

Nice cozy restaurant off University and parking can be a challenge especially on a weekend. We were seated almost immediately and served with waters. Ordered drunken noodles and pad see euw were both good. Hot off the wok if you know what I meant. My only complaint is the level of noise. It's an open space restaurant and tables are quite close to each other. The neighbor who sat next to us had to ask us to move so she can head out. We can also hear the entire conversation and it was kinda awkward. Perhaps we will return on a week night or order to go. I thought the prices were ok for Madison's standard. Cute interior and you can see the chef cooking in the open kitchen.

My new go-to for Thai in Madison! Dining room is absolutely gorgeous and a great blend between modern yet traditional and comfy classy casual room Met the girls for a Saturday brunch and was not disappointed. The waiter was so personable and attentive without being overbearing, suggested the crab Rangoons to share since it had been made fresh that same day. Hugeee portion for pad Thai and definitely had yummy leftovers-- so worth the visit. I asked for extra peanuts of course. Noodles were so Al dente and freshly fried to warm perfection Sticky rice was gas, I can totally make this at home so I have high expectations but this is definitely worth the visit since their mango is so juicy and definitely not smth you can find Willy nilly in grocery stores Loved it and will come back with more friends to enjoy the good food and company in a tucked away comfy spot here

I took out lunch from here. The restaurant was spacious with enough seat. It was not too busy. I was in the mood for fried rice and was torn between basil fried rice and pineapple fried rice. When I saw pineapple friedrice has cashews, that set my choice. It was flavorfull with good amount of cashews and pinapple. I am sure basil fried rice will be atleast as flavorful, just without the cashews. For spice level, I went for Extra Hot and that was the perfect level for me.

The people working at the cart were really nice and accommodating, and were happy to modify any dish they could for ingredients that you can't or don't eat. The first thing I tried was the squash curry, which was a really generous portion size for $7, consisting of rice topped with a rich coconut milk-based curry filled with chicken, kabocha, and zucchini. It was really filling and tasty. But the real winner from the cart after a few visits was the avocado spring roll, which was $3.50 and the size of a burrito. It was basically a giant fresh roll filled with avocado, lettuce, cabbage, mint, rice noodles, cucumber, carrot, and peanut sauce. We got the medium spicy sauce, and it had a fantastic kick to it. Still can't believe something so large was only a few dollars, as it was such a great deal. Definitely worth trying this cart if you're looking for something to eat on campus.

This is a place where I enjoy the appetizers more than the entrees. They have a big menu, so I feel that is where they kind of struggle with a star entree for me. Not that flavorful so if you're looking for the sour and strong taste, wouldn't recommend this. Pan fried Pork dumplings - it's fake pork but I can't even tell the difference! The sauce is great and not super salty. Egg roll with spring roll - unique item but didn't stand out. Egg roll gave a crunch but not much taste Spring roll - always a solid choice. The sauce is amazing! Umami and perfect amount of salty. Coconut sticky rice - more like a soup/congee texture. It was hot and the coconut rice overpowered the mango so it didn't have a cohesive taste. 2 individual bathrooms. Parking is free but difficult to find. Would recommend making a reservation. It had carrots in it which I had never seen before and it was incredibly dry and sweet. They also didn't have sticky rice I could order unless it was the sticky rice for dessert with coconut milk in it which I didn't want. It also costed me extra for cucumber and lettuce which should automatically come with it (who eats Larb by itself???). As far as ambiance goes, it was kind of dark in there but the decor and atmosphere was okay. The service was very nice but they did forget some of our food at one point. They truly live up to their name "Hot-N-Spicy". The cultural significance of the chili pepper often represents hospitality, warmth, and resilience! They bring all the spice and don't hold back! If you are not used to spice/spicy hot dishes, I suggest you start at level one spice and work your way up. They will ask you on dishes made with chili peppers what spice level you want 1-4 and can even make it hotter also! Hot-N-Spicy is genuinely unique because they offer Issan food dishes and flavors that is uniquely from the Issan/Isan Northeast region of Thailand that is heavily influenced by Lao and Cambodian flavors with the use of heat, fresh herbs, and use of fish sauce that brings different flavors different from other regions of Thailand. Hot-N-Spicy used to be located in the back of the Viet Hoa Market. It is now located next door from the market in a larger space in the same strip mall that allows for a more comfortable sit-down seating experience of a full restaurant. I have tried almost everything on their menu and have never been disappointed! For appetizers, I love their angel wings which are deboned chicken wings stuffed with chicken, carrot, and bean thread noodles fried to pure crispy perfection! Their most popular selling appetizers are their amazingly addictively delicious crab rangoons! Their chicken satay is also a must try! I also recommend trying their beef jerky which is so delicious, it often sells out quickly during the day! Their main entrees are so outstanding, it is hard to order one entree! My absolute favorite that I recommend is their steak Laab which is the best Laab I have had in Madison! It is heavily influenced with Isaan flavors/culture with minced beef, tripe, red onion, cilantro, mint, fresh lime juice, rice powder, fish sauce and scallions. I love the beef steak Laab because it is unlike anything you will ever taste with so much flavor from a combination of flavors with hint of sour with the lime, salty/umami/pungence from the fish sauce, balanced with refreshing different herbs, texture with the tripe, while the toasted rice powder gives this dish a tiny bit of crunch/texture that gives a subtle nutty flavor! This dish is a minced meat salad traditionally eaten with your hands and sticky rice/vegetables like cucumber. I also really enjoy their Pad Thai, Pho, and Crispy Noodle Lad Na! Your visit wouldn't be complete without quenching your thirst with either their Thai iced coffee/tea! Hot-N-Spicy remains at the top of my list for Thai/Lao cuisine! If you are looking for true authentic flavors/traditionally prepared dishes, definitely try Hot-N-Spicy!

It's also been great to see this local business grow. What started as a takeout spot inside Viet Hoa Market has expanded into a larger space on Monona Drive, and it's easy to see why.
