Thai Noodles is my go to for Pho and Thai Ice Tea! They will provide with all condiments to quench your pho seasoning and saucy needs. It's perfect for a cold winter day after a WERQ event!! Our group left with full bellies !

This spot is a family favorite and it consistently delivers on friendly service and delicious food. I love that it is family owned and everyone is always so nice whether I'm ordering takeout or we were dining in. They have some of my absolute favorite Pad Thai -- it is a struggle to branch out and try something new because it is just that yummy. I think it could serve a family but I eat the entire dish by myself. I recently ordered the Pad Z You and it was also very delicious. It was a lighter brown/soy sauce that I've had at other Thai restaurants but couldn't tell you which one is "more authentic." I once again ate the entire dish despite it containing multiple servings. I am glad I tried it, but I think I'll have to go back to my Pad Thai next order. I would definitely recommend checking this place out -- it is the perfect spot for good, well-cooked COVID take out!

I'm sorry but my wife and I had the worst experience here. Food was made terribly and the chicken smelled old. This is not a typical Thai restaurant, they make their food with a different sauces than every other restaurant. We asked to switch and we're told that they couldn't do anything. Never coming back again, have fun if you do. SOGGY CHICKEN THAT SMELLS BAD AND THE DRUNKEN NOODLE NOT COOKED WELL. DO BETTER!

    N5 beef pho with shrimp

Alright I've been holding back. I'll release the main reason I come here - PHO. Their egg rolls, great. Springs rolls, yummy. But the pho which is listed on their menu as khewtiew (which is how my family calls it - ding ding authenticity bell is ringing) is my favorite in Madtown. I get the beef pho (N5) with shrimp (about an extra $3). If you want to go really authentic try it with tripe (it's actually pretty tender - they know what they're doing). They also provide a variety of add-ons: basil, bean sprouts, onions, jalapeños, sambal, chili flakes, chili oil, sugar and lime. Plus soy and hoisin sauce to continue customizing your pho to your liking. But what makes their pho different from the others are the fresh ingredients and the amount of time they take in cooking the broths. Give it a try and you will notice the difference in flavor. And always a Thai ice tea or coffee. Always. (This mention should probably be in the tips section). The area is a cute, tiny space but can still accommodate a large group, as long as all the tables aren't already full.

p10 - seafood combo in karee sauce. Scallops, shrimps and squid. 4 pcs each.

This is not my first visit here but my first review of the place. I struggle a lot with this restaurant. I can't help but compare the dishes to other Thai restaurants or even those from Thailand because of the name but I know this is different. Take tonight's dish for example. Seafood combo in karee sauce. The sauce was very light and tasted good on its own. I put it over the white rice and it was very tasty. Somehow the flavor did not penetrate the scallops, shrimps or squid. By the way there were 4 pcs of each. The only way I know how to eat this dish was to scoop the sauce into the rice, put a piece of meat on the rice and scooped that into my mouth at the same time. The dish was also not piping hot either. I like the flavor of the triangles as well but again something is odd about it. The outside skin is crispy and nicely done. The flavor of the fillings was good also but when you take a bite it feels like you are eating two separate things. If anyone else has this feeling, I would love to hear what you think. It might also be the texture of the fillings - mixed of soft and crunchy vegetables combined with crispy skin. Closing on a positive note, none of the dishes were super salty and the portion was right for a meal.

    Looks great, tastes terrible.

Avoid their so called "drunken noodles". It absolutely is not pad kee mao. It's a bowl of boiled rice noodles swimming in an off-putting brown broth. Looks pretty but is not a good dish. Their poor attempt at a panang was just as bad; not even a hint of peanut flavor. Just go somewhere else and don't waste your time and money.

My daughter says the spring rolls are good, otherwise I'd go with two stars. "Pad Z You" had no flavor and the noodles were undercooked and seemed to be of the boxed variety. Egg was lumpy, like it came out of an Egg Beaters box. I never leave noodles behind, at least I never did until now. The spelling of the dish should have been my first clue. Curry was ok if watery.

    Amile B.

I ordered the drunken noodles. Other Thai places usually stir fry it and it's dry but heavily coated with sauce. I was shocked to see their remix of my favorite dish here. The bag started leaking and I was like wth. I come to find that the drunken noodles were almost half watery. And it didn't taste good. . Why you gotta make it into a soup? Just stir fry it. Even the recipes on google doesn't turn out that watery/ soup dish. Can y'all please update your drunken noodles.

    Excellent meal!

My friend said that the curry was amazing and they definitely want to come again for that. My other friend didn't like the pad Thai that much and had to put a lot of sauce on it. They thought the soup and the spring rolls were decent and didn't have any complaints. Pork Larb is my favorite food and I really didn't enjoy the pork Larb here. It had carrots in it which I had never seen before and it was incredibly dry and sweet. They also didn't have sticky rice I could order unless it was the sticky rice for dessert with coconut milk in it which I didn't want. It also costed me extra for cucumber and lettuce which should automatically come with it (who eats Larb by itself???). As far as ambiance goes, it was kind of dark in there but the decor and atmosphere was okay. The service was very nice but they did forget some of our food at one point. I really like the server who brought our food though; she was charming and enjoyable to talk to. Overall, I see great potential with this place and really only wish the best. With some tweaking and recipe perfection, this could be a good, treasured spot in the area.

Just a simple, down-to-earth place to get some Thai food, and some pretty good food at that. For lack of a picture of what I personally ate, I'll post the pic I got of my friend's Guey Tuey Kee Mao, or what may be more described as "drunken noodles." It was pretty good and authentic - just the right balance of saltiness and sweetness in the sauce, and the chicken in it was done nicely. I personally ordered the Pad-Z-You (probably more towards pad see ew) with beef, and that was also quite good. Extremely straightforward dish that was executed well. Overall, this was a nice place for a casual dinner. The server was also quite friendly too. The food is definitely not "mind-blowing," but it certainly scratches the itch for good Thai food.

This is a place where I enjoy the appetizers more than the entrees. They have a big menu, so I feel that is where they kind of struggle with a star entree for me. Thai iced tea - too much half and half so couldn't really taste the tea Papaya salad - medium spicy level, had a kick at first but it wasn't present throughout the rest of the salad. Not that flavorful so if you're looking for the sour and strong taste, wouldn't recommend this. Pan fried Pork dumplings - it's fake pork but I can't even tell the difference! The sauce is great and not super salty. Egg roll with spring roll - unique item but didn't stand out. Egg roll gave a crunch but not much taste Spring roll - always a solid choice. The sauce is amazing! Umami and perfect amount of salty. Coconut sticky rice - more like a soup/congee texture. It was hot and the coconut rice overpowered the mango so it didn't have a cohesive taste. 2 individual bathrooms. Parking is free but difficult to find. Would recommend making a reservation. Service was ok, had to look for our waitress a couple of times for more napkins and water refills.

The people working at the cart were really nice and accommodating, and were happy to modify any dish they could for ingredients that you can't or don't eat. The first thing I tried was the squash curry, which was a really generous portion size for $7, consisting of rice topped with a rich coconut milk-based curry filled with chicken, kabocha, and zucchini. It was really filling and tasty. But the real winner from the cart after a few visits was the avocado spring roll, which was $3.50 and the size of a burrito. It was basically a giant fresh roll filled with avocado, lettuce, cabbage, mint, rice noodles, cucumber, carrot, and peanut sauce. We got the medium spicy sauce, and it had a fantastic kick to it. Still can't believe something so large was only a few dollars, as it was such a great deal. Definitely worth trying this cart if you're looking for something to eat on campus.

They truly live up to their name "Hot-N-Spicy". The cultural significance of the chili pepper often represents hospitality, warmth, and resilience! They bring all the spice and don't hold back! If you are not used to spice/spicy hot dishes, I suggest you start at level one spice and work your way up. They will ask you on dishes made with chili peppers what spice level you want 1-4 and can even make it hotter also! Hot-N-Spicy is genuinely unique because they offer Issan food dishes and flavors that is uniquely from the Issan/Isan Northeast region of Thailand that is heavily influenced by Lao and Cambodian flavors with the use of heat, fresh herbs, and use of fish sauce that brings different flavors different from other regions of Thailand. Hot-N-Spicy used to be located in the back of the Viet Hoa Market. It is now located next door from the market in a larger space in the same strip mall that allows for a more comfortable sit-down seating experience of a full restaurant. I have tried almost everything on their menu and have never been disappointed! For appetizers, I love their angel wings which are deboned chicken wings stuffed with chicken, carrot, and bean thread noodles fried to pure crispy perfection! Their most popular selling appetizers are their amazingly addictively delicious crab rangoons! Their chicken satay is also a must try! I also recommend trying their beef jerky which is so delicious, it often sells out quickly during the day! Their main entrees are so outstanding, it is hard to order one entree! My absolute favorite that I recommend is their steak Laab which is the best Laab I have had in Madison! It is heavily influenced with Isaan flavors/culture with minced beef, tripe, red onion, cilantro, mint, fresh lime juice, rice powder, fish sauce and scallions. I love the beef steak Laab because it is unlike anything you will ever taste with so much flavor from a combination of flavors with hint of sour with the lime, salty/umami/pungence from the fish sauce, balanced with refreshing different herbs, texture with the tripe, while the toasted rice powder gives this dish a tiny bit of crunch/texture that gives a subtle nutty flavor! This dish is a minced meat salad traditionally eaten with your hands and sticky rice/vegetables like cucumber. I also really enjoy their Pad Thai, Pho, and Crispy Noodle Lad Na! Your visit wouldn't be complete without quenching your thirst with either their Thai iced coffee/tea! Hot-N-Spicy remains at the top of my list for Thai/Lao cuisine! I ordered level 1 spice, and it was the perfect amount of heat without overwhelming the dish. The homemade curry paste, coconut milk, basil, peppers, and jasmine rice came together beautifully. It's also been great to see this local business grow. What started as a takeout spot inside Viet Hoa Market has expanded into a larger space on Monona Drive, and it's easy to see why. The food is consistently delicious, the portions are generous, and the new location offers plenty of seating.
