Came here for lunch on a Saturday. Service was good, food was hit or miss. Avocado garden roll was nice and fresh and crunchy with nice peanut sauce on the side. Tofu pad thai was alright--very much on the sweet side and not authentic flavor to what I have had in Thailand. We also ordered 3/4 spice level and it was not spicy at all. This is a nice casual restaurant in West Richland. We ordered red curry pork and garlic chicken as well as egg rolls for appetizers. I was surprised they didn't ask us for a "spice" or heat level but the food was spiced about right and was tasty. I didn't see fish cakes or Chicken wrapped in Panden leaf on the menu. Thai city is my absolute favorite restaurant in Tri-Cities. Not only is the food the best Thai food in the area, but the service is amazing, the atmosphere is good and I've never had to wait for a table. Usually I order the pineapple curry with chicken or tofu. This is a must have if you are a pineapple fan. And get it a little spicy. Yesterday I stopped in for a quick lunch with my son, my mom and a friend. I got chicken pad thai, which is scrumptious. Mom & Friend got fresh rolls, which they loved and I've had before and have to stop myself from ordering in addition to my entree because it is simply too much food. Anyways, my son, who is 2 years old, can't sit still for 5 minutes and was milling about the restaurant and discovered the fish tank at the entrance. (He has a recently started a fish obsession.) When we left the lovely ladies that run the restaurant graciously gave him a few guppies from their fish tank so he could have his own pet fish. They are the sweetest most generous people. I recently moved to the area and getting acquainted with all the tasty local spots. This was my second time ordering take out from this place and I have enjoyed the dishes so far. The owner seems very friendly and there is a warm, cozy feeling to this restaurant. I ordered the spicy chicken and the veggie spring rolls and they were both delicious. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because portions felt smaller than other Thai places I've tried. Hands down the BEST coconut shrimp I've ever had!!! Everything else is just decent but the coconut shrimp is amazing!!!

I have eaten just about everything listed on the Menu. I have never been disappointed in a meal. Lake (Server) provides awesome service. She is very friendly and she cares about her customers. I've been to all the Thai restaurants in the Tri-Cities. Thai City is the best. My wife gets everything very mild, completely mild, zero out of ten. They can do this no problem. I get the little chillies in chilly oil on the side. Keep in mind that these little chillies are actually the bullets that the devil uses to protect the gates of hell! They are hot. Start slow. Thai City can do any level of spice and you will still enjoy the authentic Thai flavor. read more

We love the food here! It's the only place in town (that we know of) that makes mango curry and avocado curry. The negative...they charge for rice! It doesn't come with the curry. We've started making our own sticky rice at home and ordering the curries for takeout. Pricey though. read more

We've eaten at Thai City several times and they always deliver consistently good dishes. While their Pad Thai is pedestrian, they do a wonderful job with bright and flavorful curries and stir fries. The plates of food arrive looking like works of art. The dining room is clean as a whistle and the big screen TV tuned to NatGeo makes it home-y. Avoid like plague. Awful behavior and extremely rude owners. We ordered a very small takeout order - we were travelling, busy, hungry, with limited time. Originally they asked for 1hr to make it. We then asked if it could be done in 20 min. They said "yes." To be certain, we asked two more times and twice again they said "yes," so we placed the order and made sure to give them some extra time. When we arrived 30 minutes later they knew our name and order, and asked for 10 more minutes (not ideal, but not a problem). Then they informed her they had in fact canceled the order, despite them knowing who we were, why we were there, and having an original timetable for being ready. Seriously??? How transparent. When I pressed this point I was told I was wrong, but that it would be another 30 minutes, and that we should dine-in. That wouldn't work for us, so I asked how this was so terribly miscommunicated. I was then told there was a recording of our call, so I asked to hear it. Instead, some other manager came out and told us that the order was cancelled and it would take them 20-30 minutes to complete. There were 6 customers in the restaurant (all of which had been served) and 3 cooks. We wasted almost an hour in total, and nothing came of it. If you can't take a small, basic order, just tell people to go elsewhere; simple. There are plenty of other great Thai restaurants in the area such as Ha Hae and White Elephant. We wanted to try this place because we love supporting local restaurants, but the management here is clearly more interested in turn-over without any respect or regard for their customers, or their time, no matter the cost. Don't mislead people and don't try to gaslight them unless you're willing to provide the evidence necessary to support your claim. If this is how they run their business who knows how they run or clean their kitchen. Extremely unprofessional. read more

I finally have lost my patience with this restaurant!! The service has always been slow so we had moved to take out . When you call you are always told 1 hour for pickup. BUT last night Thursday was the straw that broke the camels back!!! 2 1/2 hours later and not only was the food late , I had to stand in line behind 20 people to pay. You see there was a group of people who were dining and finished just as I was to pay for my food. This group ALL PAID SEPARATELY. Their bill was all on one slip but insisted on paying separately and not only separate from each other but then they wanted their alcohol on a separate receipt. ( which meant every transaction now turned into two transactions) What restaurant would allow this to happen?? I even asked to be allowed to pay , to jump the line.( I had 150.00 dollars worth of food) NO WAY!! Folks who had $6 worth of food and $30 worth of drinks all went ahead. I have never in my life been so poorly treated and have been a regular weekly customer. I have eaten at many of restaurants in my time and a party of 6 or more is usually automatically charged an 18% gratuity!! So not only did they not get a single tip from any of the 20 before me. They also I'm sure we're charge ( the restaurant) charged for all 40 card transactions)... I was not the only regular customer treated with no respect.There was a pregnant women who also waited for more then 2 hours for her food.. You have lost my business for good this time!!! read more

Came in today, the server was very sweet. The problem we had was that our chicken in our Tom kha soup looked spoiled! Our server addressed it to the cook and he said the chicken must've went on the burner or it was the pot. Our butterflies were awful the cream cheese and ingredients tasted not fresh at all, and the Panaang curry tasted like spicy vegetable soup! Nothing like panaang curry! Now we have to stay home and worry about possible food poisoning. Our Tom kha was only half off from the incident because we ate half our food which is fair but the chicken was mainly on the bottom to start with. This place is the poorest we have encountered in dealing with our "new normal". The phone will ring and go unanswered, the voice mail is full. If you call back it might be answered by gentleman with poor connection and poorer English. Typically we've been told the wait is 45 minute to an hour. When we picked up our food, we waited an additional 20 minutes and when we got home (just up the street about 7 minutes) the food was Luke-warm. The very liquid Sweet & Sour was put in semi flat box and leaked all over everything! We enjoy Thai food, have always been pleased with our food here, however...the cook cannot be expected to answer the phone and get orders properly packaged and cook all at once. It appears that is their method right now. Get the ladies back to answer the phone, take orders, and package them. Let the cook do what he excels at! read more

Oh how I love Thai City... They boast an extensive menu and absolutely delicious food. I've always gone with friends and we all agree there's not a bad item on the menu. The chicken satay and avocado rolls are the best appetizers. The peanut sauce is UH-MAZE-ING. My favorite dish is the Pineapple Curry with Chicken...it's a culinary treat - with plenty of leftovers! The Thai Ice Tea is so absolutely delectable, if only there were free refills! You really have to try Thai City. The service is friendly, the prices are affordable, and the food is unbelievable. My favorite Thai place is in Wallingford in Seattle. My second favorite? In the Tri-cities. No way you say? Yes way I say. I say, Thai City is a hidden gem. I feel bad and give extra tip when I leave when there are not many people here appreciating the great ethnic food. Maybe there is not enough racial diversity here. Maybe they should move to Seattle. I had the green curry which was loaded with veggies but way too spicy and more like soup. I felt there needed to be more of a creaminess to it. Not the same as it used to be. Been coming here for over 6 years and our family has always ordered the same thing. Service was always great in the past but tonight it took over 45 minutes to get our food while bag after bag went out the door for call in orders. The Thai iced tea was mostly condensed milk, the pad Thai was lacking its normal flavor and the pad phet didn't come with rice like it always did in the past. Paying the extra dollar to have chicken added isn't worth it either since you only get like 3-4 pieces of chicken. Don't know what happened in the last 6 months but we won't be coming back. read more
