Great food and service! We came here after having a very negative experience at a nearby restaurant and we were very happy finding this!

This for me is a perfect storm of food choices - all Thai. I had spotted Naree Thai on my way out to take pictures. By appearances, it was very inviting. I noted that they closed at 10PM so I figured I needed to be back no later than 9:30. I think its offensive when someone walks into a restaurant close to closing and I try not to do it. At exactly 9:24 I entered and went straight to the order counter at the back. The first person who greeted me told me they were closed. The second person told me I could order from the take away menu - so I did. The plates I saw walking looked so delicious I figured I must try some, even if I could not be seated. After 15 minutes I had my to go order in hand - crispy rolls and gang dang (chicken red curry bamboo shoots) - and headed off to my picnic. I ended up across the street on a bench on the bay in front of a 69 meter sailing yacht - the WinWin - which was staggeringly beautiful. The food was delightful, especially the curry. I've rarely had better. Perhaps if I had been seated I'd have a better sense of the service at Naree Thai. I was somewhat put off by the fact that they refused to seat me when I arrived more than 30 minutes before closing. To each their own I suppose. As it happened, my picnic was quite nice - maybe better than dining alone in an empty restaurant. If there weren't so many Thai choices in this town, I'd probably go back tonight - only earlier and try another of their dishes - it was that good. 1 order of curry chicken and 2 crispy rolls = 190NOK = $30USD = €22.5EUR

My friends and I were seated by a rude, disrespectful waiter. He seemed annoyed by our presence and when we had any questions or requests (even asking for more water), he would make a sarcastic joke. It took approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes for us to be served, and the food was not worth the wait. Zero apology for the wait time. The Pad See Ew was dry and the only flavor present was black pepper. Otherwise the dish was very bland and only edible because I was starving. I tried a bit of my friend's vegan green curry which was also lacking flavor. Small portions for 150 kr (about $18 USD). The food here is terrible, but the service is far worse. Waiter with the fedora and plaid button up was obnoxiously rude and unhelpful.

The restaurant is nicely decorated and played house music during our visit. I tried the Yuku Sake cocktail to drink, we split the salmon sashimi and the king crab dumplings, and I ordered the vegan mapo tofu as a main. The cocktail was sour and not the most tasty. All of our food came at roughly the same time with sashimi arriving about 5 minutes ahead. The sashimi was tasty with a nice amount of sauce to complement the fish. The dumpling was room temperature and had an okay flavor but was not as tasty as I expected. The tofu was undercooked and the sauce was decent but could have used a bit more flavor. Overall, I had a hit-or-miss experience at Lai by Noodle Noodle and think there is room for improvement.

We were at a fish market in a different Norwegian city during this trip, so I had high hopes. This isn't a straight fish market in my opinion, it's basically a restaurant and a fish counter. It is a permanent structure and alone on this side of the harbor so it's very easy to find. The restaurant wasn't very busy when we were there and we didn't eat at it either. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The seafood counter was pretty much like a supermarket counter. It was much smaller than I expected it to be. The area for the shop was also very tight and unwelcoming. There were limited items and again, half of the stuff was imported and not Norwegian. I thought the service wasn't that good, we were completely ignore. So we ended up just leaving without anything.

Weary but happy, we dragged our exhausted selves to the lobby restaurant of the radisson blu Atlantic, where we were staying. We were seated immediately by the friendly maitre d. Our waiter for the evening, Martin could not have been nicer. He took our orders of a burger, mussels and chicken tenders for our daughter. They all tasted great! My favorite, however, was the complimentary bread basket, with the most delicious, soft bread with sun-dried tomatoes, a side of soft butter in olive oil and a sprinkling of sea salt and chili flakes. He also gave us a complimentary amuse bouche - salmon on a cucumber with crema and roe. Again, delicious and refreshing. The mussels came in a green curry sauce with a julienned veggies and Thai red chilis. The fries on the side were crisped to perfection as was the spicy mayo it came with. They have an extensive wine selection. As a New Yorker, I value a good wine bar scene with ambience but the prices here/ Norway are no joke. I went for a French red which was the cheapest at 200nok/ 20usd. To top it all off, Martin went the extra mile to give my daughter a vanilla ice cream, made in house. The service cannot be faulted.
