The restaurant is nicely decorated and played house music during our visit. I tried the Yuku Sake cocktail to drink, we split the salmon sashimi and the king crab dumplings, and I ordered the vegan mapo tofu as a main. The cocktail was sour and not the most tasty. All of our food came at roughly the same time with sashimi arriving about 5 minutes ahead. The sashimi was tasty with a nice amount of sauce to complement the fish. The dumpling was room temperature and had an okay flavor but was not as tasty as I expected. The tofu was undercooked and the sauce was decent but could have used a bit more flavor. Overall, I had a hit-or-miss experience at Lai by Noodle Noodle and think there is room for improvement.

It is a permanent structure and alone on this side of the harbor so it's very easy to find. The restaurant wasn't very busy when we were there and we didn't eat at it either. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The seafood counter was pretty much like a supermarket counter. It was much smaller than I expected it to be. The area for the shop was also very tight and unwelcoming. There were limited items and again, half of the stuff was imported and not Norwegian. Our waiter for the evening, Martin could not have been nicer. He took our orders of a burger, mussels and chicken tenders for our daughter. They all tasted great! My favorite, however, was the complimentary bread basket, with the most delicious, soft bread with sun-dried tomatoes, a side of soft butter in olive oil and a sprinkling of sea salt and chili flakes. He also gave us a complimentary amuse bouche - salmon on a cucumber with crema and roe. Again, delicious and refreshing. The mussels came in a green curry sauce with a julienned veggies and Thai red chilis. The fries on the side were crisped to perfection as was the spicy mayo it came with.
