If anyone says this place is anything less than perfection, they are a liar! It's a simple place, you can tell it's a family run environment so it not all glitzy and glamorous as other Thai restaurants but, the hospitality never fails at this place, their service is top notch. They treat you like a guest in their home and it really makes me happy to feel so welcomed. They always give you little treats at the beginning and end of your meal which is something nowhere else still does! But more importantly the food is top notch!!! This IS the best panang in Orlando, I will not argue with you, it just is. She makes a pineapple tea that I sit around and think about on cold nights, lol. She does not sell it though, it is only an after dinner treat for dine in guests. So I recommend you take an hour, pull up a seat and let auntie take you on a trip to Thailand!

We had triple seafood, drunken noodles, pad thai, yellow curry, and Thai sampler. Food was fresh, flavorful, and hot. Atmosphere was homey and the staff was friendly. We got a few cookies and small cup of hot tea after dinner that was so yummy.

Very disappointed in the value and taste of this restaurant. $16 ginger vegetable entree and barely received half of a bowl ( photo attached) and it was salty. I didn't get a picture of the chicken satay that was suppose to be 5 pieces but it was more like 3 cut up into uneven pieces that didn't resemble what a typical satay looks like. Even the side of the jasmine rice that came with the entree was barely a scoop of rice. Disappointing to say the least, looked as if someone are half our food.

I needed dinner for Christmas Day and this place delivered ten fold! They were so nice even for how late we came in, we got the Pad Thai and Tom Ka! It was done so quickly we had to finish eating the delicious complimentary drinks and cookies. The food is delicious and I'm very grateful they provided their service after hours :) I'm 100% coming back!

The staff was welcoming and service us fast. The place was neat and clean. Food was really good, Pad Thai was cook perfect even with the tofu was crispy on the outside and soft inside. Green Curry was really good my partner enjoy it! The portion was small but taste great! I loveee the Thai Iced Coffee, not too sweet which is good. We will come back for more food to try.

    Cashew Chicken

Cashew Chicken is the best we've had! FULL of flavor!! Her "special tea" is great (no sugar needed). Place is very old and not update. But who doesn't like a great hole-in-the-wall?

Stopped by Thai island because we normally get take out from here but wanted to have it fresh. I missed getting photos of most things but we ordered Thai Spring Rolls to start which never disappoint. I also love ordering Larb because it's so refreshing! Then for my entree I had pad ta Kari which is a stir fried lemongrass chicken and shrimp. It's served with rice and was so delicious and full of flavor! The sweet surprise came at the end when the owner gave us some tea and cookies. She said they're home made and it was the sweetest thing. Stopped by to dine in made it feel like you were visiting someone's home. The service is also quick and kind. Highly recommend trying to dine in one day if you normally order take out!

The place in a strip mall, with ample parking. Our order turn around was fast. They gave us cookies to nimble. The pad Thai was good. It was tasty, but too soggy. The spring rolls was what I expected. The tom Yang soup tasted like one. The only down side was we ordered one spicy and one not spicy. Both came spicy. The fried calamari smelled so fishy when it arrived, I tried it and it tasted bad. The owner took it off our bill. The service recovery was good. Another thing that I noticed once you enter is the restaurant looked like the owners living room. One corner has plenty of clutter. The staff/owner was very friendly and personable.

The inside is not anything special. It looks to be a long time. Family run restaurant and there isn't anything new and shiny about it but I enjoyed my meal and it was tasty. I like heat so I asked for a medium spice and I enjoyed it. My husband asked for mild and he thought it was super hot lol. I'd say if you truly like spice, you will enjoy the flavors here. This was also my kids' first time trying Thai food. Surprisingly, they liked it as I left out the spice from their orders.

They always go above and beyond at Thai Island. From the minute we walk in, I feel like I'm walking in to visit family. It's comfy and welcoming. The food makes me do a happy dance the whole time. The way they care for us and bring us little things to try or recommend sauces just feels extra special. It really is a whole experience, and it's forever one of our favorites!

What are the hours? We are here at 8:30pm on a Saturday & it's closed. -_-

This is a question that can only be answered by the owners! Why ask other customers? I hear your frustration, though. Now in Korea, I find this situation almost daily! ...with no hours posted. Or hour posted but nobody there during posted hours.

The dishes are boasting with flavors! The one star they are missing is how hit or miss their to go/Ubereats can be. Some days I'm satisfied with how everything is while other days it can fall just slightly short. That's my only request is to ensure a good experience with every to go/ubereats.

For my entrée, I had the beef pad kee mow--flat rice noodles with bell peppers, Thai basil, chili, and their signature spicy wok sauce. It was flavorful, spicy, and absolutely delicious! My colleague had the shrimp pad kra plow with Thai basil, chili, bell peppers, and rice, and loved it as well. Of course, we had to finish with the mango sticky rice, which was the perfect dessert. Everything was delicious, and the service was superb! The restaurant is also very nicely decorated, making it a great atmosphere for lunch or dinner. One thing to note: parking can be a little tricky. I parked in the parking structure behind the restaurant, which worked out well. Overall, a fantastic meal and a great experience. I'll definitely be back!

To eat, we started by splitting the chor muang dumplings. These were gorgeous purple dumplings, but I found that their flavor was very delicate. The wrapper was somehow both gummy and overly delicate and broke. They were okay, but definitely more of an aesthetic dish. Next, we got one of the specials, which was a small tart shell filled with raw tuna. This was good, but I felt that the sauce overpowered the delicate fish. For mains, I ended up ordering the kor moo yang (pork jowel). This was the star of the show, it was super tender and flavorful. The relish was barely necessary to be honest. I'd definitely order this again, or get it as an appetizer to split with a few people before the main. To drink, I was really surprised that none of their cocktails were modifiable considering that they have a full bar. They didn't have any cocktails that were speaking to me, so I ended up ordering a zero proof drink, the honey's passion, with a shot of vodka on the side to spike it. This was a good solution. I would probably not go to talay again for food because there are so many good Thai places here, and the food just didn't stand out, but I'd definitely hit the bar for some drinks if I had more time.

The location definitely stays busy as there was a revolving door of people coming in and out of the restaurant. We were fortunate that we got seated fairly quickly and were able to get our order in. Everything arrived warm and properly prepared, and the prices were right in line with what you'd expect for Thai food. That said, the pad Thai and fried rice were surprisingly flat. Tough texture and almost no seasoning, which is hard to pull off with Thai food. Even the tofu managed to come through flavorless. After hitting 20+ Thai spots over the years, this one ranks pretty low on the flavor scale for me. Still edible and clearly made fresh, so I'm not writing it off completely. I'd consider it again if nothing else was open and I just needed something solid. Just don't go in expecting big flavor.
