If you are anywhere near this restaurant stop in. I liked it so much I came back again for dinner. I rode my bike over both times. They make you feel welcome, they have English and Danish menus, but mainly locals eat here it seemed. The prices are reasonable. They have a patio and some inside tables that looks out onto the most beautiful body of water--it's a high end upscale residential area on a lake. You can rent a boat. You can easily build romance here before and after dinner in this area. It seemed safe to me as long as you stay near the water/shore. The food is excellent. I had the Chicken with Vegetables both nights with the best tasting rice. They cut fresh vegetables here. Chicken was soft and tender--a little bit on the too salty side for me. When you ask for tea, they don't give hot water and tea bag, they give you an entire iron kettle of brewed tea. It's a family run operation. Kind of like eating at home with a Thai family. Excellent! Stopped in for dinner, it was a rainy, windy, cold Copenhagen night. The spicy food was just what we wanted to warm us up ( mind you the owner said it's Copenhagen spicy, high is actually a tad mild, but we told them to throw in extra heat). The place is cozy and lit with candles throughout, we were seated at a table by a window looking out at the River. My husband and our friend ordered beers, I stuck with water. We then ordered angel wings, coconut curry soup, chicken pad Thai, cashew chicken, and a ginger spicy dish. Everything was really great! Mediocre Thai food at an above average price. As you walk into this restaurant, you'll see a pretty standard Nordic building, pretending to look Thai. There will be paintings of Thailand here and there, wooden statues of elephants, some chopsticks, but the overall atmosphere will still be that of any restaurant in Copenhagen. When you gaze at the menu, you'll see the above average prices, ranging from 120-150 per portion/dish. There are starters (such as egg rolls), noodle dishes, curries, wok dishes, soups etc. In addition, you can order extra rice, beer, lemonades, some other alcohols and they even have a wine list. However, once the food came, I didn't find anything special about it. It was not bad, have to compliment the chef on the rice, but the curry wasn't spicy or flavorful enough, the wok dish was unimpressive and overall it didn't have the savor of a real Thai dish. I don't know if they did this to adapt to Danish tastes, but if you are looking for more authentic Thai food, I would suggest somewhere else. read more

Had great experience at this place during previous visits. Went there again anticipating similar...entered and was asked if we had reservations, we did not. Were seated after the lady who posed the question made a face, following the response. The restaurant was practically empty! Ordered a Shiraz from the wine list only to be told it wasn't available. Picked a Zinfandel next, again to be informed it too was not available! Gave up and ordered a jug of water for three, found out we had been charged 15 DKK for water from the tap!! Atrocious. Ordered Green Curry, Basil Beef and Ginger chicken with fried rice. None of the dishes was flavorful/tasty...totally bland, utterly disappointing. Plus no service at all once the initial service was done...not even to check on how we were doing, if we needed water, drinks, dessert, etc. Again, the restaurant was barely a third full...so no excuses. Bad food, worse service, got gipped for water and paid atrocious rates for two beers (DKK 49 each bottle). Overall bill for three was DKK 550! Crazy price for the disappointing experience. Scratching this place off our list. Sad, looks like ownership/chef have changed, for the worse! read more

Summary: GREAT location with beautiful views. Solidly executed Thai food. Kind service. Menu in English. This is more like 4.5 stars, but I'm a Thai food snob. Atmosphere: Hurrah for Yelp! This location is right on the water. There is no other reason for you to come past it unless you're searching for Thai food. The inside is decorated neatly (so many Thai places take it a bit overboard). If you're fortunate enough to get a window seat, it's a fantastic view of the lakes close by. Very cozy feeling. Service: Our waiter was great. Close by without hovering. He was constantly on his feet working vs. seated or doing nothing. A real professional. Food: Tom Kha Shrimp. I compare this at every Thai place world wide. This was delightful. They used a lot of white mushrooms which modified the taste a bit. The mushrooms were very fresh tasting. I liked. Wouldn't have minded a little more shrimp. 4 stars. Beef KraPow (AKA Basil Beef). Spicy. Wow. I can take spice and was shocked to find I needed water. I really liked that the ingredients were fresher with more veggies added to this dish than in NYC. 4.5 stars. Ginger Duck. Can I say food order envy? There was a clear winner in who ordered the best dish tonight and it wasn't me. I usually don't love this dish in Thai restaurants. They somehow managed to teach me what this should taste like and that is saying something for this particular snob. 5 stars. I love this place. Have only been here once but it was a happy experience. I went here with my (Danish) husband and we ordered some red curry and spicy beef salad and we asked specifically the food to be Thai spicy, not dumbed down to some danish spicy since my husband could really take the chili. The service was on the slow side - but that was perhaps the place was quite crowded (we got the outdoor seating tho' - really nice facing the lake) When the food was served, they asked if the food was as spicy as we wanted them to be, a plus point from us for taking care of the customers' need, something that is really rare in Copenhagen. This gem is tucked away in a non descript building that we only found because our cab driver was familiar. Based on reviews here and on Urban Spoon, my Thai loving coworkers and I made the trek to Thai Pan. Pleased and overwhelmed are understatements in regards to Thai Pan. The food was sensational, quite possibly the best Thai I have ever had. Crisp, fresh, well presented, perfect portion size, spiced as requested do some justice describing our meal. The restaurant is intimate in terms of the close proximity of chairs, tables, and the dim lit room. Have been 4-5 times. Has excellent view as it has large windows towards the lake. In the summer time it is possible to sit in their small porch too. The food is good and the portions quite large. The prices are quite normal I would say and the service is excellent. We usually order one first dish and two main dishes that come with rice on a separate bowl and then share them. Good spot, but one issue. We wanted a reservation, but they could only accommodate us after 8pm, so we waited the two hours before heading over there. When we got there though, the place was less than 1/4 full, so we really felt we had waited in vain. The food overall was pretty good, but we had one struggle. Their basil wok dish has very coarsely cut red peppers - and one person in my party ate one by accident. He ended up having to leave the table and got very sick immediately in the bushes - and he's not someone who struggles with spicy food. read more

Very good Thai food, and reasonably priced for Copenhagen. We went with the Pad Thai and the Green Chili Chicken, both of which were excellent. Nice little outdoor seating area that looks out on the Copenhagen lakes, but you will never get a seat there unless a previous diner dies unexpectedly. Best Thai in Copenhagen that I had in the nearly three months here. Copenhagen prices, but that is what it is. I had three meals there once I found it and they were all great. My wife joined me on the last one - I finally got an outside seating and that made the place. They could use some ventilation in the main dining room. Wait staff was also a joy. read more

Fantastic Thai food! Think the last time I had this good Thai was in Thailand. If you ask for spicy, they actually make it spicy.

it's relatively easy to get a table here, the food comes out fast with consistent quality, and the price is very reasonable. in the summertime you can sit outside with a view of the lakes (and joggers) and the service is good. though i prefer the food at thai kalasin, the food is way cheaper here and it's a bit closer to our flat. read more

It was completely disappointing, both our noodle dishes tasted of nothing more than soy sauce and it was much too salty and extremely boring. Good food and not a rip-off for Copenhagen standards given its location. The place has a fabulous view of the lake and a terrace. Downsides: it can be pretty noisy, and they have only one unisex bathroom (which is ALWAYS occupied). Definitely a four (perhaps five) star place on a sunny summer day. read more
