Not only did the owner email me criticizing me about the previous review I posted (when I gave his shop one star because he did a TERRIBLE job); he left a yelp "compliment" saying that I used a filter on my pictures to make my hair look worse than it was! That is just laughable!! When I was sitting in his chair, he went on and on about how some of his clients are "pain in the asses" and one woman in particular had to come back later in the day because she was complaining that her hair looked terrible. No matter what this guy says, dont believe him. Cons: Worse haircut of my life Pro: Cute boutique style, good products in store, very up to date inside, good location, price is standard, sent a free hair cut coupon which was a nice gesture even though I'll never use My Cut: I have thick wavy hair that is a couple inches above shoulders, with my usual stylist it looks good wavy or straight. I spoke great lengths to the stylist and even had pictures just in case of what my hair cut usually looks like (long bob) and the layers I would like to add. What I ended up with was a short, one length and shapeless bob with uneven front layers that looked like a mushroom because it wasn't thinned or cut properly. My bangs also looked like an old lady and they were curled under tight in a puff. First time I've walked out of a salon looking worse than when I walked in. I think it was pretty obvious that the cut was bad by both the woman who did it and the man who was there. It looked good neither straight or wavy and my face fat because the length was unflattering with my face shape. Not wanting to make a fuss, because frankly there is no way they could fix it without going really short and I do not think she was skilled enough to correct. I let it grow out, went to my usual stylist and she cut it exactly like I showed the layers, so I know what I was asking for wasn't the issue. I got the cut before my vacation because I wanted to look pretty and my stylist wasn't in that week. I was soooooo sad. I don't mind paying top dollar for my hair to look nice but price isn't everything, I've been to hair cuttery with a random stylist had much better cuts... My sister's hair: I had a living social for this place but it slipped my mind that my hair was black and I didn't want to go thru the trouble of trying to highlight. So I gave the Living Social to my sister (there was a mix up with them redeeming it even thought i didn't use and paid for my cut). My sister's cut and highlight was done was Jeff and while he took his time and the cut was okay, her highlights were a bit off. She had two random chunks that look like an accident, they did not go up to her roots or the bottom of the hair. One was in the front were you can notice. If my sister didn't get a decent cut, I would have given this one star, but since they tried to be accommodating and took time on her hair giving 3 stars. read more

I have recently moved out of town and have been afraid of finding a new hair stylist as the same person has been cutting and coloring my hair for about 16 years. I came in soooo nervous and was immediately treated like an old friend and a valued customer. Jeff is super down to earth and gave me a great haircut and treatment. It was not my first visit to this salon, however it is definitely the last one. I asked for a certain color, even brought a picture, the end result was not remotely close to what I have asked for, my hair is completely damaged , ( I was asked to sign a waiver at the beginning of the procedure - I should have taken it as red flag) and at the end of the terrible ordeal, Jeff demanded more money since he claimed he used a lot of material, this was the most unpleasant and devastating experience I have ever had. read more

Love this place so much I had to do another review after my last hair experience over the holidays! Thairapy Hair Studio is the only place I will go to get my hair done anymore! I found this gem a few months ago, started with a hair cut, built up to some color highlights and most recently went in for some fun color and I am proudly embracing my inner "unicorn" with multi colored hair (just call me Rainbow Dash!). Jeff and his staff are experienced and caring stylists who work as a team to truly make the customer feel special and make sure they leave happy with their hair. I really admired the way the stylists all worked together as a family who help each other to support the studio as a whole. This is not something you see at every salon and its not something I ever felt anywhere else I have gone over the years. I encountered some "bumps in the road" (not the fault of the salon) with my hair but Jeff and Dorit went above and beyond to take care of me provided me an experience that will insure I am a lifelong customer who will not only go to them for all my hair needs but I will tell others and encourage them to go there too!!
