My hubby and I stopped in and purchased Target brand Up & Up x3 100 packs of Fresh Cucumber Cloth-Like Baby Wipes at a bargain for just $1.00 each and understood the name since our first thought was.."that's cheap!" Honestly they work better than napkins if you have a messy eater like our 5 year old and are also looking for wipes to store in the car for quick clean ups! Not to mention they are hypoallergenic, plant based, smell great and you can't beat that price!! I would highly recommend this location, they sell clothing, furniture, brand new toys, etc. and the staff were both friendly and helpful! Good - the boy with glasses, his name is Joey and he handles your food with care and will double check for correct price. Bad - the old women with glasses, she does not care about you at all. She throws your food and is rushing you to hurry EVEN WHEN THERE IS NO LINE. She is not one to check prices with because her responses will always have attitude. It used to be good, then they got greedy and decided that they could sell absolute junk and stale food for a dollar or less off the retail price and some dummies bite and buy the stuff but for the most part people walk through the store buy one or two things for dollar or two and shake their head in disgust as they leave. I would have rated this place 5 stars 3 months ago. They changed from a falling prices style to just selling items slightly less than retail. Grocery outlet is a better option. Has turned into a grocery store. A grocery store that takes advantage of individuals with no choice but to spend their hard earned money on expired food. I was so bothered by what I walked into. The staff was friendly and there is a TON of stuff here. It can be a bit overwhelming so come when you have time to leisurely walk through the aisles. That's cheap in Orangevale has always been one of my favorite That's Cheap locations. All the staff are wonderful! They recently changed to a grocery store and you can't beat the prices! There is a sign when you walk in clearly identifying the prices: Monday- $3 Tuesday- $2, Wednesday-$1, Thursday- 50 cents, Friday- 25 cents. Grocery prices have increased so much with inflation, but this store has saved me so much money! Staff are very helpful and always kind. They treat all customers with respect, and I am always very happy with my shopping experience! I was sad to see the store change to only grocery, but it has still kept me coming back week after week to see what new deals I can find! I've had nothing but positive experiences at this store, which is why I continue to come back week after week! read more

I don't know why this place has such bad reviews... I like this place. It basically is a Target outlet store (pretty much everything in this store is discounted stuff that you'd find at Target). It sells Target brands like Threshold, Magnolia Home, Pillowfort, Project 62, etc. It also has overstock or returns (I think) from Amazon like Honest Company Diapers, etc. What to Expect... OK customer service. On the days they are busy, it's hard to get anyone to answer questions about the prices of things, but the other day two employees hauled a bunch of furniture out to my truck. They are very nice. Products go fast, especially furniture. No returns or exchanges so be careful what you buy, i.e. stay away from electronics or large ticket items like vacuum cleaners or mattresses just in case something is faulty or you decide that you don't like it later. What I Like Best... VERY affordable toys (I've purchased $10 toys for $1 each). Nice candles and home good items. Brand named items for REALLY cheap. (I purchased a $80 chair that I saw on Target.com for $15). If you are looking for a few bargains and don't mind walking around the entire store to find stuff (yeah, there are no signs to label aisles or anything), then give this place a try. read more

Come rested and expect to find new products every time. One time there was outdoor furniture. The next skin/hair products, candles and linens. Great quality, new, over-stock from a variety of stores. I was furnishing a B&B- bought area rugs for $20, lamps $5-15, desks $49, chairs $5-25, cube shelves $7-30, etc.,etc. new inventory shows up weekly. This feels like an insult to customers of Falling Prices. This store is owned by the same people, and it's mostly items that would have been put at Falling Prices but they want to get more money for them. Pretty much everything in the store except for the furniture was stuff that would have been at Falling Prices last month. Example: I got a box of 84 K-cups at Falling Prices on $6 day last month. Today, That's Cheap had a box of 84 K-cups, same brand, for $17.50. Dumb. I don't like it. It makes me not even want to go to Falling Prices because now it seems like all their best stuff will go to That's Cheap. I couldn't believe the price drop and all for good quality items. Once we checked out the cashier guy was very nice. I asked "what is this?" If you haven't been to That's Cheap... you have got to go!! If you like Targets Decor!?! If you look at Wayfair online and wish you could touch or see that furniture in person!! That's Cheap may be your store!!! I do staging to get homes ready to sale, I have got some of the best decor in my inventory from That's Cheap!!! I think they have 5 stores in the Sacramento area now. Most of these stores have opened up in the last year. My understanding is they have some way of buying Target stores salvage and overstock and Wayfair onlines furnishing and overstock. Please don't quote me on this as I'm not sure I'm wording how they recieve their inventory correctly The one thing I do know is That's Cheap is some of the best bargains I have gotten on furnishings and decor for my business!!! Myself and my sister are constantly in the Thats Cheap Stores, the furnishing and decor is very current and affordable. We love the employees at all the stores and have come to know a lot of them on first name basis. We love the manager Nora at Ardens That's Cheap and Dominique at Orangevales That's Cheap. These ladies go above and beyond to make our shopping experience FUN and they are always pointing out new items that have come in to the store. The store carries many other cool items, always seem to have pet food, cute bedding, lots of toys, cute clothing and sometimes shoes, candles, yummy snacks and even bleach lol which I always buy a few bottles for my white laundry!! The only thing negative that I would say, please bring back the music!!!! Research has proven that some good tunes can help a lady to spend more $$$$ then I should have!!! The only thing ' at Thats's Cheap is the look of the store. It has a 3rd world K-mart of Mumbai feel to it. The prices are not cheap, they're the same as any Wal-Mart. I'll bet that by this summer, That's Cheap will go the way of the 99 Cents Only store, that was there before. read more

At first everything was fine. The store was having 40% off for furniture. My family just moved and my mom needed new furniture so perfect timing!! Went in purchased a couch set, and recliner for my mother and an entertainment system and bar cart for our home. Super cute stuff and great price. It's was a Large load so we weren't able to grab everything. This is where it gets good..Fast forward to be picking up our paid for products my fiancé and his brother go to pick up with Receipts and the red tags showing what item we purchased (as instructed by the sales staff to do). They checked in with the cashier and she told him to go ahead and grab our items , as they were in the back asking/waiting for help with loading the owner Ryan decided to come over and make an example out of them... He gave them the 51° questioning... You would've thought that the police were on their way. long story short we were accused of stealing the items... And Ryan wanted to know how he was supposed to know that we actually paid for these items (obvious answer would be the receipts) Even though we had the red tags and receipts he said he still wasn't sure if we bought the items because one of his employees was "hooking up his homies". I guess two black men in moving clothes looked a lot like his employees Homies. It got to the point where there was over five sales associates surrounding them so that they couldn't take our PAID for items while the owner Ryan continue to question and go over how their policies aren't right and don't reassure him that the items are paid for when customers are coming to pick things up... Even though that sounds more like a staff meeting problem on their policies and procedures. After 25 to 35 minutes of being questioned and grilled I was finally able to get my items that I paid for..My boys were even accused of being wholesalers in purchasing the item so that they can go and resell them... That was none of Ryan's business even if that was the case.. I will never again shop at this location. I'm sure Ryan would prefer it this way. From this interaction doesn't seem that Ryan trust black customers so make it a little bit easier on him and not give him my money. read more

This place is amazing. I am bargain hunter so this place was made for me. I was so excited when I heard we were getting this type of store locally. Every time I go in (which is at least once a week) they are stocked with name brand products such as Barbie, Hearth and Hand, Our Generation, Target Dollar Bin Items, Pepsi, Fisher Price, Dr. Scholls, Up and Up, Crest...I could go on...all at a fraction of the cost I would get them at normal stores. This store is pretty unique! It's laid out like a Big Lots. Some of the products you'll find are from Targets, Walmart's and Amazon basics. The products are possibly overstocks, items that couldn't sell or damaged packaging. They also have furniture and decor that looks new. We always go for something in mind like cleaners, paper towel, and end up buying other things. The stock of items are random and not consistent but the goods are clean and not second hand or appear so anyway. read more

I was in your Orangevale store last week and noticed the sign that mask are mandatory on your front door and while I was shopping I see before me a women that was not wearing a mask, I called out to her and asked are you putting a mask on and she loudly declared no. I said I am out of here and left. The cashier was in the store on the floor and had to hear the exchange. They opened that's cheap and started taking a lot of items they would put out at falling prices. Which falling prices is going down hill on there items now. Which come on some items are not even cheap. They claim to give 50% off but not all the furniture is. They have some furniture from Target that I have seen at Target for way less. read more

Not so cheap. They will have many of the same smaller products that are in Falling Prices for sometimes 4-8xs the price. Things Falling Prices is willing to let go for $2.00 or even 25 cents will be like $8 in That's Cheap. I've seen it on many items. They carry big items but quality isn't there. It's more like a never ending sale of 20-50% off. Most of it crap that retailers couldn't sell. Some things WAY over priced. And customer service can be crappy. One older guy at register was downright rude when I questioned a price sign. He wouldn't honor it, grabbed the sign said no he wasn't going to honor price on sign. Items were marked $8.00 a pack and he said no, they're each. I showed him sign and he said no way is he selling at that price. Mind you, this was a thing that was $2.00 that day in Falling Prices ( dame owner/company). No return policy too. Won't go back. Coloring books for $3, really? Where's the bargain? read more
