I've been going here for a few weeks now and I really enjoy the classes. Encouragin, friendly instructors who motivate you through a workout that actually gets you results. I've lost quite a bit of weight since starting and am even starting to see muscle tone (yay!). The adult karate course is only two days a week, but they offer kickboxing classes at a variety of times so it's easy to fit in a workout even around a busy schedule. Highly recommended. read more

This review is long overdue! Let me start by saying that I love the kickboxing classes AND the people here!! The classes are fun and you get such a great workout! I've been coming here for almost 1 year and am so happy with the workouts, the results and my health. I've been wanting to workout for the last few years, but with kids and a FT job, it's been really hard to find something that works with my schedule. The class times offered here work really well with my schedule (there are classes as late as 8:30pm), so I can finally focus on me! The first half of class is a good mix of cardio and strength training and the second half of class is bag work. They teach you technique and how to properly punch and kick. It's really fun. I cannot put into words how much these classes have helped my teenage son. I only wish I would have started him sooner! His confidence in himself has soared. I had been wanting to try a kickboxing class for ages, so when a Groupon popped up for this place 5 minutes from my house, I nabbed it right away. 10 classes and a set of boxing gloves for $50? That's a ridiculous deal. I've been to two classes so far and I am already sure I'll be joining once I've used up the Groupon. Their classes are really intense and you work up a ridiculous sweat. The instructors are great and take the time to make sure the newbies get the moves down. The kickboxing classes do get busy, so you need to reserve your spot for each class. At first I thought that might be a pain because I liked the idea of being able to run off to a class last minute, but it actually helps keep me accountable and will make sure I can't blow off class because I don't feel like going. Not that I'd ever do that! ;) If you've been wanting to give kickboxing a try, this is great place to do it! read more

I've taken a lot of "kickboxing" classes which end up being "cardio kickboxing" this one is a little bit of both. They offer a more aerobic class and a more "technique" based class. but both, will kick your ass for sure. In addition, it doesn't have the "fast moves" that the traditional cardio kickboxing classes that i've taken. You really can go at your own pace without being trampled. (you know, the classes that seem like you're just doing dance moves vs a work out) Class size is limited, everyone is really positive and the instructors are GREAT! They are not only encouraging, but will also push you hard core. I already feel the results and I'm only going once a week. They have a great internet deal for 5 classes (which includes the gloves) and I already signed up for a punchcard (will probably doing this class with some good old straight up running). I really like the use of the punching bags, weight balls,etc. they make it pretty integrative work-out. There is a lot of diversity too to each class..they always have something different up their selves. No 2 classes i've been to have been the same. I signed up for a 65 class punchcard, and i'm ready to bring it. :) PS.. do the internet deal first..it gives you a feel of the class (1 class doesn't do justice) and then they wave the start up fee after that. I signed up after the 5th class and they waved it (vs making you commmit right after the 1st class in the 5 class series) read more

Awesome workout!! This is such a great place to try out kickboxing. I've been going here since April and it's felt like I've known the staff much longer. They are very personable and encouraging. They really know what moves work to make everyone break a sweat! Not only will you burn calories and tone up at their classes, you will walk away feeling great! I've never owned a gym membership in my 28 years of life and this year 2014 I was one of "those" people that made a resolution to start working out. I took a chance on the Groupon special to see if this would hold my interest (it takes a lot to get me to workout) and I have been pleasantly surprised. I like that there is someone telling me what to do for the entire hour. I can't be trusted to work out on my own, I basically need someone to tell me exactly what to do. It's kind of like having a personal trainer. The teachers here are really nice and encouraging and non-intimidating, which is important if you're an anti-gym rat like me. The workout is AMAZING. I am literally drenched in sweat every single class. There is variety from class to class so we're not doing the same thing every time. Also the class times they offer are perfect for those of us working all day. I still struggle every day to get my butt off the couch to go to the gym but once I'm here, I feel so good and that feeling keeps me coming back for more. read more

My son has been going to 1-2 Punch for 7 years now. He started as a 4-year old in their Little Dragons program. We absolutely love it. They have two awesome Master instructors there, one of which is actually the founder of this particular martial arts program that they teach, and several other wonderful instructors. I can only say great things about this place, but the best thing is that they make you feel like family there. If you are interested in finding a good martial arts program that fits you and your kids, you can just come by and sit in and watch, see how you feel for your kid or even take a couple of trial classes. If you are looking for a great place to have younger kids start karate, they are awesome. My 6 year old has been going here for the last 18 months or so. Master Brown and Master Domino and Instructor Austin are so great with the kids-- patient yet firm. My son says "yes ma'am and yes sir" now outside of class and it is great for their focus and self esteem. With covid the dojo was closed for several months and they pivoted to online zoom classes and virtual belt tests quickly and it is something my son looked forward to every week. They offer virtual classes both one-on-one instruction and in a class setting. read more

My kids have been going here for a month now and we (the kids and parents love it). They try to have different instructors on Tuesdays and Thursdays and rotate the drills so it's different each time. I love the discipline the kids are learning and the focus on getting the kids to follow direction. The only negative...sometimes the classes seem a bit too crowded and there's less attention on some of the little ones who are fine with being complacent. The positive...after every class my kids leave saying they had fun at karate. read more

Ive done a few different types of kickboxing classes over the last few years and this one is the best. I have never sweat so much in my life end enjoyed doing it. My 4 year old son started the Little Dragons program when he was 3.5 years old. It has been such an awesome experience!! The instructors are amazing!! Their level of patience with the children is wonderful. The kids are encourage participation through positive reinforcement which is why they have so much fun and are eager to cooperate and follow instructions. The exercises they do are great for gross motor development. Coordination, strength, and balance are all promoted. Watching these little kids do kicks, punches, jumping jacks, and other drills is one of the cutest things in the entire world!! Most importantly, my son is happy and super excited to go to karate each week!! I also love that he is engaged in a group activity but is able to advance at his own pace. My son started Karate Kidz last summer as a 5 year old who gave up on all sports after an awful T-ball experience. He LOVES Karate. It's seriously the best decision we've made to enroll him. A few months after he started I was inspired by my son to start the school's Kickboxing. I'm almost down 40 pounds from when I started in October! The Master is super friendly. I joined the kickboxing class over a year now and I still love it! I live a little far but I really don't mind because I enjoy it so much. The instructors are equally great and they keep you motivated. My first day was very intense, but I didn't give up and I'm glad I didn't. They keep track of your weight, your muscles, and your fat so you can find out if you improve or not. The music they play are fun and upbeat and the other kickboxers are friendly and helpful. Their kickboxing classes are definitely a great workout! Leo, the instructor is great and provides feedback when needed on different combinations. They also provide you with a monitor to wear around your arm so you can see when you are working in the red zone. I'm really more motivated due to the smaller class size and feel challenged in pushing myself to get to and stay in the red zone. This is a fun way to get in your cardio and stay healthy! read more

Both my son and I both go here, and so far, we both love it. My son is 4 1/2, and can't stop talking about how much he loves karate. We can already see small changes in his attitude and focus. As for me, I'm challenged, and determined to earn my next belt. I came upon the 1-2 Punch school through an ilovekickboxing.com deal on groupon. I had been interested in trying out kickboxing as an exercise workout. I joined the 1st week of March and I absolutely love it! The instructor Leo was very nice and made me feel welcomed from the get go. He contacted me to set up my 1st class and gave me a brief run down on what items i should bring to class. I went to my first class not knowing what to expect. I've got to say it was one hell of a work out and I enjoyed every moment of it! Within the 1st 15 minutes I was dripping in sweat and we were only in warm ups. This Kickboxing class was very enjoyable! The instructor Leo was very interactive with the entire class. He greats everyone when they arrive. Throughout the class he walks around the studio and is ensuring that everyone is doing all techniques properly. He is also encouraging everyone to do their best at every workout. Although this is a class the instructors make it a point to work with everyone one on one. I really liked that they worked with everyone on a personal basis because it isn't a sink or swim environment. There is music through out the class which makes it even better and super fun! the music is a great mixture of all different varieties and really gets you pumped up! Leo makes it fun because he is really interactive with the class and the music. You can catch him singing along. I absolutely love the encouragement i get through out the class. Like i said before I felt very welcomed since day 1. The other kick boxers in the class are very friendly as well. They also give encouragement and also assist other kick boxers with their techniques, specially newbies. After my 1st class i felt very refreshed and energized. I knew this was the work out for me. I have been coming to the 1-2 punch I love kickboxing class for about a month now and i still enjoy every moment of the class. Everyday i look forward to going to class. I bought 10 kickboxing classes off of Groupon and I absolutely loved every single class. Leo and all of the people that run it are excellent. They push you and keep you motivated. I really enjoyed that every class was a little different. I didn't get bored ever. The classes are difficult (especially for me because I hadn't worked out in a few years), but you never feel like you can't do it. Although it is in a class setting, you work at your own pace and you get individual attention to ensure you are doing things correctly. I was sweating like crazy just with the warm ups!
