I recently stopped by to pick up some goodies for my three-year-old niece. I chose a Hello Kitty mug and filled it with an assortment of wacky hair-clips and lip-glosses. It ended up costing around $30, which in my opinion is a little too expensive for the quality of the merchandise. Nonetheless, the kids (particularly little girls) LOVE the stuff. So in that way, it's worth paying a little bit more. And encouraging toys that aren't Barbie's or Bratz is an added bonus!

This place is basically an old style recordshop that has an awesome selection of CDs and DVDs. In fact, when it comes to DVDs they then to carry the harder to find ones, and the classic and cult films, which is pretty awesome. Sure enough, within a few minutes I was able to find a couple of awesome films that you would simply not find in many of the other places, and not to mention the CDs as well. Certainly worth checking out, especially if you are retro like me.

It recently upgraded its layout, but to no great avail. On the days that the owners are on site I would say it was well-staffed but its collection of part-timers is a bit motley (often more interested in chatting to one another than serving you). And most disappointing of all, despite their diligently running disks through a cleaner before you borrow them, there are too many times that we've found our rental scratched or dusty.

We go there for their great range of Foreign and Indie films and also the great selection of 'Television Series' DVDs including some lesser known American and British sitcoms. A well-stocked documentary section and heaps of kids titles means there really is something for everyone at this store.

I stopped by here because the place was painted bright red, I HAD to see whatever it was they were selling. It's kind of a duplex layout. On entry is all the antique furniture and the other has all the second hand clothes. First off I went into the second hand clothes section. It had all great stuff, and very cheap. I got a few things and my sister got some great stuff as well. There were plenty of funky vintage clothes (at cheap prices) and some normal everyday second hand clothes. There are definitely bargains to be had here and some really great labels! I love the little knick knacks and statues scattered around the shop as well. I'm also obsessed with the art deco clock on the wall. I keep asking how much it is and each time they tell me it's not for sale. It will be mine, oh yes, it will be mine. Next I went into the antique furniture side. WOW. The furniture in there is just glorious. I was obsessed by these 3 Japanese paintings on wooden frames. I didn't have enough money to buy all three on the day, so saved up and went back the next week. 2 out of the three were sold! I was gutted, but it just goes to show how popular this place is. I will defintely be back, and this time I will get that clock!
