What can I say about this incredible place? Both of my kids attended The Academy, and we have loved every single moment. It all started in the winter of 2022, when we found out we'd be moving back to California. I was frantically searching for a preschool and hitting walls at every turn. I knew I wanted a Montessori-inspired approach, and I needed a school with room for both of my children. When I reached out to The Academy, they responded quickly and were so accommodating of the fact that we couldn't do an in-person tour. Kristine, who was the interim director at the time and has since become the director, did our tour over FaceTime and the moment it ended, I just knew. And the best part? It ended up being right down the road from the house we bought. If that doesn't scream meant to be, I don't know what does. My oldest started in the preschool class and my youngest in the young toddlers class. By the time my oldest graduated, he was more than ready for kindergarten and now the time has come for my youngest to do the same. I won't pretend I'm not going to cry on her last day. This school has been so much more than a preschool. It's been a place where I knew, without a doubt, that my children would be loved, protected, and given every opportunity to flourish. Every teacher we had was wonderful. The admin team consistently goes above and beyond for their families. Our previous preschool was a completely different experience. The constant staff turnover at this other school, meant our kids rarely had the same teacher twice, and it showed. The stability and consistency at The Academy has made all the difference. If you're a parent searching for the right place for your little one, look no further. Truly. My kids already ask if they can come back to visit. That says it all. We have been with The Academy for almost 2 years and love it. There are a lot of positive things I could say about their curriculum and the ways they have supported my child but the main reason I am writing this review is that it's sincerely and truly a trustworthy daycare that supports both parents and children. Every teacher my daughter has had has quickly become her favorite teacher. We literally moved to be closer to this daycare because we liked it so much and didn't want to choose a more conveniently located daycare. read more

We have had a very positive experience here! I have an older son so this is also my fourth preschool so I feel like I have something to compare it to. My daughter started at 18 months. The teachers in the toddler classroom are so sweet and patient - Miss Monica and Miss Jayme. They are willing to work with whatever schedule you'd like to ease the children into the classroom. They are also very good at helping the children transition as many times this is their first place away from home. They have part time or full time schedules available. There is also an app and there are constant updates parents receive including lunch time, nap time, diapers and play time with pictures. I also love that there is a drive through drop off and pick up where the children are brought into school or out to the car. I'm a working mom and responsible for all the drop offs and pick ups and since my son attends another school, we don't have to get out of the car so this makes things much easier. The school also hosts some parent classes for free if you're interested. Cost wise for full time, it is on the higher end from what I've seen but it's cheaper than having a nanny which is what we had previously. I also believe it is reflected in the quality of care so it is worth it to me. I am happy we found this school and my son will be attending as well starting in a couple of weeks. read more

My son went here for two years and had a good experience. He had some social and developmental delays, and the staff were very encouraging and did their best to accommodate him. Often times, it's about the teacher - we were lucky to have a very supportive teacher. The other staff were very helpful and caring as well. We miss seeing their faces for drop off and pick up, especially Miss Kristine, who was always so warm and friendly. read more

The Academy has been the dream school we have been looking for. Nicole, the director is kind, understanding and very inclusive. She truly cares about all the children in her school. Her staff is also wonderful, every teacher at the Academy is welcoming and you can tell all the teachers love what they do. Our experience in the past few months has been a very positive one. Our daughter has shown so much progress in the short time she's been there and she is excited to go to school every morning. Her favorite class is Art but she also enjoys gardening and the music class at the Academy. We highly recommend this school if you want your child to grow and learn in a loving, safe and fun environment. Worth every penny! read more

Just through I would write an updated review as my son is still attending school full time and the progress he has made since a year or so ago has been outstanding! He has transitioned well to other teachers and the preschool area and we are excited for his transition to the pre-k/kinder prep. I love the daily photos/videos/updates we receive daily on the app as it gets me through my work day. I am so thankful that when my son wakes up in the morning, he is excited to see his friends and teachers and often times, is unhappy when I pick him up at the end of the day because he wants to continue the activities. My son left his old pre school that he had been at since he was 3 because they did not have a Pre k program. We chose The Academy due to a friend who had spoken quite highly of the program. I am not going to go in to my entire experience because I know this is a great program, and I don't think it is fair to say it is not. The way in which my situation was handled by Teri was anything but ethical I am sad to say. You can see by my profile I don't write many reviews. My only advice to anyone seeking guidance in going to this preschool is if your child does not like it here for whatever reason and you give it a fair shot, you won't get any money back. They charged us $2000 after we had left the school for the upcoming month. When you go for an initial meeting you will probably hear "we only have 1 spot left " or "a spot just opened up" this is not true they say this to every one who comes in. They will charge you a another whole month of tuition if you do not give a 30 day notice. The school was not a good fit and there for I gave my 30 day notice but Still got charged. read more

We have had three kids in this school and we cannot be happier with our experience. Our kids spent one year each in the pre-kindergarten program for kids aged 4-5. - This is an academically-oriented program. They provide a very structured environment, focused on all aspects of a child's early education, including early reading and math, art and fine motor skills. Each day is divided into slots and there are dedicated classrooms for different subjects, including the art studio. This way, kids are trained to absorb different topics in small doses with good awareness of time. I think this is the optimal way to learn, especially at an early age. - There is plenty of time and space to play too. - The teachers are professionals with ample experience and very much invested in the progress of your child. They send emails with the summary of your child's activities, including pictures, several times per week. There are constant encouragements for the kids in the form of various awards: student of the month, most helpful kid, most friendly etc. - This year there were 15 kids in my daughter's class. - There are field trips to the Safari Park and such. - There are parent-teacher meetings where you get a one-on-one discussion with the teacher about your child. - The drop-off and pick-up is well organized and it takes not more than a minute or two. - We noticed very little teacher churn over the years If you want a structured environment with the focus on academic and artistic development for your child, no need to look any further. We had done a lot of research before choosing the Academy of Bright Horizons for our kids. All other places we had checked didn't even come close. For a full disclosure, the cost is a consideration, and it has been increasing steadily. We feel like we still get what we pay for, but if it keeps creeping up, we may need to cut down on the number of days or just do half days, which is also a possibility. read more

My 2.5 yr old son has been attending The Academy since he was 18m and he looks forward to school every day. Not once has he said he didn't want to go to school and he's there all day, 5 days a week. We had an in home nanny up until 18m and I visited a ton of schools before deciding on this one. There is a good balance between academics and social skills, the teachers are all experienced, and the facility is very clean and well planned with safety in mind. I was worried about transitioning my son from home to a facility but the 18m classroom environment is very cozy with furniture resembling a living room and kitchen and the playground is reserved for the younger children so I know he won't be trampled over by the giants. Ms. Gina is very motherly and loving and helped him transition like he was her own child. He was addicted to his pacifier and she helped him get rid of it his first week. I especially loved how the teacher provided a sheet of paper every day with his feeding times, what he ate, his diaper changes, nap times, and special moments of the day. It made the transition from home to school so much easier. I also enjoy receiving the daily newsletter email updates with photos and summaries of what they did that day. Ms. Beth and Ms. Caroline also watched him in the summer and helped him transition to the older classes. I like how the school exposes him to different teachers at certain times of the day or week. He knows and loves all the teachers at the school! When my son turned 2.5, he moved up to the Preschool class on the other side of the school. I now love how we can drive through the carpool lane in the mornings for drop off and have the teachers take him out of the car. It saves me time and it helps with the separation anxiety. The Preschool side of the school has a bigger playground which he loves and is ready for it. There's no more daily update sheet but we still receive the newsletter emails which I enjoy reading so we can chat about what he did that day. Ms. Erin has been so great in helping him with potty training and I love how every day focuses on different academic areas. You can tell much thought and creativity went into planning the curriculum. My son is talking so much more, counting, recognizing letters, etc. and I can now have meaningful conversation with him. It's so exciting to see how much he has developed and grown at this school. She is extremely patient with him and provides me many timely updates. My son loves how there's music class once a week with Mr. Kyle and once a week there's art class with Ms. Tracey in the awesome art studio. I have nothing but good things to say about this school. I love how I can drop him off each day and not have to worry because I trust he's in great hands. read more

We have both our children (4 yo and 2 yo) currently attending The Academy and couldn't be happier. This school is truly a gem, the teachers and administration are loving and attentive. The school provides lots of hands on activities, a great art program/studio, and music classes weekly. My kids have really blossomed here and love their school. The Academy at Bright Horizons is simply the best possible care and early education for your child. The staff are incredible, the director is outstanding and the day to day operations are 2nd to none. We had 10 locations to assess when we moved to the area over a year ago, and the Academy was the 6th stop on our research tour. It was also our last stop. Simply put, we knew instantly it was the perfect place for our 2 year old to begin her early development. And after a wonderful and welcoming tour with the director, we had no doubt our child would be attending the Academy and would be in the best possible care. We love the Academy! Our 2.5 son has been attending since he was 18 mos. He has really flourished since he started - he's very communicative, expressive and seems to know quite a bit for his age (alphabet, numbers, songs). Mostly, it's been a wonderful way for him to become social and learn to interact with others his age (share, communicate his needs with others his age or other adults). All of the teachers and educators are all very loving and attentive. They communicate with us every day, sharing an EOD recap. They really seem to want to help with any specific issue, whether potty training or sharing. I also like that they organize charity opportunities to benefit the community through school events. read more

We absolutely LOVE this school. Both the children and teachers are so sweet, nurturing and attentive to our daughter. My daughter loves going to school. She has learned so much and continues to grow academically, emotionally and socially. I am an OT and love the prehensile skills she has developed and reinforced with the HWOT program they implement into the curriculum. My son who is now 3 has been attending The Academy at Bright Horizons since he was 18 months and we couldn't be happier. The Academy offers an atmosphere that isn't available elsewhere. We love their unique features like an art room and science area. One of my sons favorite activities are weekly music class where he participates in playing an instrument and singing along to various songs. We are able to discuss what he did at "school" by looking at our daily email from his teacher that includes pictures of the activities he participated in that day. read more

My family and I are very happy with our experience at The Academy. The staff has been nothing but friendly, always greeting us by name with a smile. I get constant feedback about my son via email and the company's 'What In The World Happened Today' daily communication. Through these emails and pictures I am able to see my son actively engaged in his environment. The environments are not only extremely thoughtful in their choice of material but are very clean! He comes home sharing information about all the new things he has learned: letters, science exploration (water table, corn meal fun, etc.), art, math and so much more! Since September my son has learned the first 5 letters of the alphabet and is able to count up to 15 (he is two)! His favorite part of school, besides painting, are the friends he has made. Your search for the perfect preschool is over. My son attended Ms. Gina's classroom from 18 months to 2 1/2 years before we sadly moved out of state. Small class sizes, clean room, lots of attention, daily updates (with photos!), and the best teacher we could have ever asked for. Ms. Gina is the sweetest and most caring person I have met. I trusted her 100% with my son. The other teachers, Ms. Carolyn and Ms. Beth, were also so wonderful with my son. You really can't go wrong with any of the teachers here. Facilities are great. We have only been at the school a short time, but we really love The Academy! I was hesitant at first being that it had a franchised name and provided extended day-care like hours, but the moment we walked in the doors for a tour I could see this is a very special place for my son where he can thrive socially, emotionally and academically. My son is back to himself after a not so great experience elsewhere. He loves going to school, enjoys playing with his new friends and is learning so much as well.
