We've had such a wonderful experience at Petit Lion Language Academy over the past year. The teachers are wonderful, and my daughter loved going every day. The Spanish and French immersion has been incredible. She picked up so much and we still sing songs together in both languages at home. My daughter loved the days when the kids cooked lunch as a group, and I always appreciated the updates through lilio to see photos, activity notes, and nap times each day. Our family feels so lucky to have found this school for our child. He started at 18 months and after 6 months he has made so much progress in language and in his social adjustment to new environment. The school is beautifully laid out with a large yard with inviting play areas. The inside is open with different areas for various activities. The teachers are very attentive and kind. The children are definitely responsive to them. We appreciate their help in making the adjustment to day care much easier. We have teachers in the family and they are very impressed with the program as well. We highly recommend Petit Lion as a wonderful place for learning for young children. read more

My two sons absolutely loved attending preschool here. There's a lot of free play time - they can go outside and play in the garden, water plants, play on big toys, ride scooters and drive cars. There's circle time every day that involves dancing, singing, yoga, and welcoming students. They participated in interactive sensory activities with bubbles, sand, water, pumpkin seeds, etc.; and art projects often related to a current theme - like sea creatures, frida kahlo, vehicles and bugs. There's a strong emphasis on team building. And they got to enjoy healthy snacks and a variety of meals that they participated in making. The director was always super kind and accommodating to our specific scheduling needs. And the teachers were friendly and conscientious in how they corrected students' behavior. I'll be forever grateful that my sons got to have their first schooling experience in such a warm and welcoming environment. read more

We found Petit Lion right as it was opening. It was the height of the pandemic and we had two littles at home while we were both working. It was a new school, so maybe a small risk with no reviews but leonie seemed very intelligent and wonderful and it seemed pandemic proof being small and it had French and Spanish, something we had searched for prior but never found. So we signed up! It was the best decision! All of the staff at the school has always been top notch. My children have always always adored going there. It's well organized (I had been to a couple prior and this is a huge plus), thoughtfully run, and centered around the children. I always knew my girls were happy, safe, well cared for, and learning. I balled the day my youngest left. I knew we were leaving a special place to conquer big kid world and I will always cherish our time with Petit Lion. It's a great place and I love love love my kids and all of the Spanish and French songs and words they are constantly singing and practicing. I know on top of the love and friends they found there, they also have a wonderful start to their understanding of this big world and all it has to offer, languages included! We are so lucky to have found Petit Lion Academy for our little boy! He started back in January and has already learned so much in the past 6 1/2 months. He was able to adjust to the change very quickly because of the amazing teachers, fun learning activities, and new little friends. I am very happy we found Petit Leon for our daughter. We started her here when she was just 18 months old and she has blossomed in that time. She has made some friends and they regularly do activities in class involving crafts, nature, cooking, and their own hands. I also love that we get updated with pictures, videos, and notes throughout every day. Our daughter will ask to go to "school" even on days she's not scheduled to go. We were lucky enough to come across Petit Lion in early 2021 when our son was just starting to become more outgoing and social. Since that time he, and we, have had the most wonderful experience with the staff, Leonie and her family, and the kind hearted children who attend the facility. A little under a year after starting his tenure at Petit Lion, our son was able to carry on a basic conversation in Spanish with a native speaker. We do not speak Spanish to him at home, thus this new found skill was entirely due to his time at Petit Lion. The example above was icing on the cake to a fun and educational time in Leonie's care. We receive several pictures throughout the day so we may get a glimpse into our son's day-to-day activities and a direct communication line to the director and team. My daughter recently started going to this preschool and it has been the best decision we have ever made! It's so perfect for her and our family! It's close to home, the teachers are so warm and welcoming, they learn different languages and have so many fun activities! My two year old daughter absolutely enjoys Petit Lion Language Academy. Situated in the beautiful hills of Carlsbad, the location of this school is very calming and relaxing. This space is light and airy and very clean which is my number one concern. I noticed wonderful stations for different types of activities, such as cute little reading nook with a mini couch. My daughter's favorite part of this location is their big backyard, which was very safe and well protected from outsiders. There were many fun activities Leonie had prepared outdoors which is nice because sometimes my daughter just wants to run around and be free in nature. I try to get her outside everyday so this is a big plus for me. Most importantly, I trust my daughter is in good hands with Leonie and her staff. We were in an unfortunate situation where our 4 year old sons school was shut down during COVID. One of the teachers at our sons school went on to get a job at Petite Lion and recommend it to us as we still needed care for our son. We paid the $400 in up front fees and scheduled to start Petite Lion the next week. Within the next few days, the owner of Petite Lion let go of the teacher who we trusted, who had recommend Petite Lion. We only had decided to do care at Petite Lion based on the fact that our previous caregiver worked there. When we decided since she was no longer going to be working there (which Leonie at Petite Lion didn't tell us, but the our teacher did) that we didn't want to send our son to school there, we asked for a refund for our fees. We had not attended one day at the school, and Leonie knew we were only going there for OUR teacher. Leonie refused to refund us our fees claiming "policy". We found it very unprofessional and felt that it was her responsibility since she let the teacher go who we followed there. Instead she suggested we just "try it out" even after refusing to refund the fees and putting a bad taste in our mouths. It was a really disappointing experience to have, and we never did receive even a portion of the fees we paid back! read more

Petit Lion has exceeded our expectations in every area and continues to do so as our daughter comes home with new words in different languages/ new motor skills and clearly understanding more and more every day. We are new parents/new to the area and both work full time and since COVID- had gone through 2 other home cares(1 in S.Carlsbad and 2 an infant home care the other moved out of state). 2020 right? Thank goodness we found Ms. Leonie and her teachers- our girl loves to go to school and see her friends/ Ms. Leonie has been super supportive in our transition. Our LO learns so much from all her friends and her teachers! We know she eats well(YUM!) and all the activities going on throughout the day via Petit Lion's constant communication.
