This is my favorite place to visit while on The Strand. I absolutely love the ambiance of this place, and all the decor they offer. Everything is presented so well, and I am a huge fan of the art they display. I have actually purchased not one, but 2 sea turtle paintings. I have also bought their signature scent in both a room spray and wax melt. It is amazing! Staff here are always nice, and are willing to help. They have even walked me back to the gallery room a couple of times. This last time, they even helped me with ideas of how to desperate my space with the painting I wanted. They also could have easily sold me the more expensive painting, but with consideration to the space I drew out, supported me buying the smaller option hanging in the shop. Parking is difficult, but there is a small lot beside the shop. It is $20 to park there, so if you are able to find alternative parking, I would recommend it. However, if disabled or looking to make a big purchase, the adjacent lot would be a great option. We will be going back again, as we do every time we visit the island. read more

My mom and I were shopping before the holidays and went to this store. My mom was looking at some purses that she liked and an associate told us they donate their proceeds to a charity. While we were quite obviously picking out which one we wanted, the owner came by and said "I would appreciate it if you bought in our store instead of online" in a very rude tone. And then continued to turn to someone else and say condescendingly, "it's a wonder anyone shops locally anymore" We were quite obviously shopping locally but like to be educated about the brands we are buying into. My mom was looking up whether or not the purse was leather/for charity and have every right to look that up before purchasing. For all she knows my mom could have been texting someone. To be treated that way because she was on her phone was terrible and I was shocked at the invasion of privacy from the owner. We will be purchasing the purse from a different local vendor. read more

Most unique and classy items on the Strand. Great selection of sea turtle gifts for my daughter who collects sea turtle items. She is a Sea Aggie and has lived in Alaska for over 20 years. Need a fancy museum quality ship model? they got 'em. Need beach chic pillows for your couch? they got 'em. Need marine themed 550 piece puzzles for 16 bucks for a kid you forgot to buy a gift for? They have that too. and fancy 50 dollar lapel pins for Grandma. I however bought none of these things. I got a blue glass starfish for my cobalt blue glass collection for 10 bucks. Hey its no weirder than the blue glass pineapple or the blue glass easter bunny so it has friends. Seriously, back off your clientele a little. It felt like my wife and I walked into a used car dealership. We gave you more than four attempts over two days while we were staying on the Strand. The staff smothers you the entire time you're looking around. It drove us out each time. We spent our money elsewhere and suggest other do as well. I have bought several gifts from this store in the past and recently purchased a fossilized sand dollar bracelet for myself. I love it and wear it almost every day. Although this store has super cute items, this review is actually about the customer service. My bracelet broke and I was really upset about it because I had my eye on it for a long time. I had it for about a week and I think it got caught on something while I was wearing it and the metal bent enough for it to break. I took it back to the store and they said they would contact the jeweler that made it and see if he could fix it. I took the bracelet home waiting for a response and they called me about a week later and informed me that the jeweler would make another and we could exchange the new one for the broken one. I really appreciated the effort that the admiralty put forth into satisfying me, the customer, and I will continue to purchase beautiful things from this store. read more

I thought they were priced well as most places do a very high upcharge. We purchased a heavy mermaid bottle opener (6.99 or 9.99 can't remember) and a cool bracelet (5.99) We will definitely return to this shop! read more

Very cute store!! Lots of fun unique gifts. Unfortunately our first experience was unpleasant. We walked in because we were attracted to a tree sock display in the front entrance (crazy socks are the rage!). As soon as we approached it a sales women (long silver hair) rudely raised her voice and told us not to touch the display and there were more in the back. It was quite shocking considering they were hanging socks, not breakable, and could be easily replaced with another pair. I apologized and went into the store. As I looked around I saw the same lady act in the same rude way to two other customers who touched the sock display. I realized it wasn't just me, everyone wanted to check out the socks. I ended up leaving without purchasing anything due to my treatment. Employees should make customers feel welcome, I did not. read more

Admiralty is a great place to find a nautical-themed gift or Galveston souvenir that isn't cheesy or tacky. I especially like the jewelry. They also have a lot of pretty little decorative items--things to use as paperweights or put on a display shelf. Probably the best store I've visited in Galveston, for so many different reasons! Spectacularly merchandised with amazing displays of blues, greens, and whites. It feels so refreshing to step inside this store, especially after so many stores full of t-shirts and crap from China. I could spend a fortune here. I love the home decor. So many beautiful lamps, glass pieces, plates, cloth napkins and knick knacks you can't put down. I live in Austin and have been coming to The Admiralty every time we come to Galveston on vacation. I always buy the same thing and a lot of it. Having said that I have just had the most ridiculously inappropriate customer service experience ever. I literally walked and made my purchase in under 5 minutes and Chloe, the person ringing me up, couldn't keep it together long enough to make it a pleasant experience. She charged me for something I did not want to purchase and proceeded to give me attitude when I pointed out the error. This was her error, not mine. She was condescending and unapologetic while refunding me my money. I don't usually leave Yelp reviews but this experience warranted one. read more

Admirality is the best shop we found on the strand! They have a different variety of beach themed items different from the usual tourist claptrap. Their candles are amazing and I'm going back for more. They are also very helpful without following you around all over, looking as if you're a suspected shop lifter.
