On Dec 7th, 2025, The Doctor was suffering from what we thought was heartburn. He took the usual actions to relieve the pain, but nothing was working. On Dec 8th, he had some ginger ale through a straw to help make him burp. About 15 min later, he was sweating, had a fever of 103 degrees and was shaking. I rushed him in the car and we head to Evanston Hospital (that will be a different review). We got to the emergency room and The Doctor was admitted right away. Several test and a CT scan revealed that a large gallstone had gotten stuck in his duct and caused all kinds of back-up and infection. The liver enzymes were off the chart and he had pancreatitis. The Doctor was in so much pain that he was given morphine multiple times and placed on massive antibiotics to deal with the infection. It was decided that a stent needed to be put into the duct to open it up and then remove the gallbladder. Problem was, there were no available beds and they felt that the procedures needed to move fast, so they found him a bed at Highland Park. He was transported by ambulance and by the time I got his things and got to the hospital, he was already in his room. The Doctor had the stent put in that Monday and the gallbladder removed that Tuesday. He was in the hospital for five days, so I worked remotely in his room. The room was really nice and I liked the set up they had. There was this seating arrangement that looked like a sofa, but it was split in middle with a table between two seating areas. I was able to work comfortably there the entire five days. The bathroom was very clean and large, with plenty of room for someone on a walker to get in and out. The Doctor did not use it initially because he was hooked up to a lot of tubes for antibiotics and monitoring. The staff came in every day though to clean the room and the bathroom. Sheets were changes when The Doctor was out of the room, but not everyday. This was not a problem since The Doctor was no mobile the entire time he was there. The Docs, Nurses and Staff were all very nice, constantly checking in on The Doctor and even asking me if there was anything I needed. The food was actually ok in terms of the menu The Doctor was allowed to eat from, although he was not all that hungry. There was a liquid and full liquid diet, then he went to a full diet. When he could eat, he got a cod dinner and a burger on the days he could eat. I had several bites and it definitely needed some seasoning, but a little tajin fixed it up for me. The hospital itself was clean and the check-in staff were nice. The cafeteria is an experience as it is in the basement. You will definitely get in a lot of steps getting there and back to your loved one. There is also a small self serve market on the first floor that has quick fixes for snacks, meals and drinks. In the main area is a digital Starbucks machine if you want a quick coffee. And several times I ran into these robots, who were on their way someplace. One got on the elevator with me. I have no idea why, but I did say "Hey what's up?" to it just in case...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I see this hospital has a low Yelp rating and I am not discounting those Yelper's experiences. My review reflects me and The Doctor's experience during a five day stay with them and I feel they went above and beyond for both us. Normally I am so obsessed with having a paper copy, but they turned me away. Without food or my morning coffee this did not make for a good start to the day. I heard wailing, crying, vomiting and a host of other sounds, all from other people in the ER, all waiting to be seen. I feel for them, this is a terrible situation to be in. When I left the hospital after 10 pm, there were just as many, if not more, people in the ER. The ER and nursing staff were helpful and caring. They did what they could do in a very busy, understaffed situation. While my relative's situation is uncertain, I did not appreciate several calls from Endeavor's palliative care department. This was upsetting and scary and I was unprepared for such a call.

Fraudulent Charges!!…read more On February 24, we sent a message to a doctor who helped our son with a broken finger. We sent the message to check whether we could cancel a follow-up visit that seemed unnecessary to us, and the doctor replied that it would be fine to cancel. A few days later, we received a bill for sending that message. In all the years we have used Endeavor, we have never been charged for sending messages. And nowhere on the web portal does it indicate that customers will be charged for sending a message to their doctor. I called Endeavor and a representative said this is a new policy. I explained that we were never charged before, and there is no indication anywhere on the site that we would be charged for sending a message, but the representative said the charge stands. I have lodged complaints with various state agencies, and have left reviews detailing this unethical behavior. This is terrible, awful service that only encourages patients NOT to reach out to their doctors with concerns.

I went to the ER and was almost immediately diagnosed with a blood clot and hospitalized for three days. I shared my urgent care experience with my care team in the ER and at the hospital and they all told me it was pretty obvious that's what it was and to never go to that urgent care facility again. While I understand Dr. Gershon didn't have the tools necessary to definitively diagnose me, it's concerning that he didn't even mention the possibility of a blood clot until I asked. I would not feel comfortable with anyone I care about seeing him as a doctor.

I was recently admitted for a few different things, starting from the ER. While a bit chaotic while they are under renovations for their new wing the nurses and staff made me feel important, and cared for every step of the way. It was a bit scary to see all the hospital beds lined up in the hallways and what not but I was always cared for. The ICU team is incredible! The nurses and doctors stopped by various times throughout the day to assure me they're keeping an eye on things and working on the best form of care to get me home to my little one safely. The nurses made me feel well taken care of. I didn't have my hair brush and one of the nurses braided my hair and talked to me about what was going on so that I wasn't as nervous about things happening. After leaving the hospital I got calls from the staff to make sure I was transitioning at home okay. The cardio team, they are a small but mighty team. I've been here for a few infusions and appointments, the doctors and nurses remember me and my family by name and are always checking in to make sure that the medications and everything is going well. Offering advice and various things to help my transitions. Overall, this is a great hospital! Every department I've experienced so far has been great, and the staff are so friendly.

So I was scheduled for Lake Forest Hospital for the procedure because they had an Ultrasound to locate the vein. An appointment was made for Wednesday June 10th. I followed all their medical instructions, I went there and laid down on the table when suddenly I was told that No Ultrasound Nurse was scheduled for my procedure. So another Nurse came to inject the vein without the Ultrasound equipment. Her attempt drew blood but did not properly connect up with the vein in order to move forward with the procedure. The pain of the needle jabbing was just terrible! I could not bear a second blind attempt to find the vein, I was becoming nauseous. Half the battle is having the right tools and Lake Forest Hospital failed to properly schedule the Ultrasound Nurse, even though my appointment was made way back in April. How much lead time do they need? I am definitely not coming back here and the kicker is that the small amount of blood that they drew, they sent it for analysis, even though the procedure could not be done. My first visit was with an oncologist, which was supposed to be billed through the Veterans Administration (VA). Even though staff interviewed me and took all my information, they mistakenly billed my personal insurance instead. I had to go to the billing center in person to fix it, where I met Jennifer E. She was fantastic--she listened, made a phone call, and corrected the setup for VA billing, assuring me it wouldn't happen again. However, I recently returned for a sleep study, and despite assurances that the billing was set up correctly, the exact same mistake happened again. I had to return to the billing center, but fortunately, Jennifer was there. Within minutes, she resolved everything. Jennifer E. seems to be the only person in that department who truly understands VA claims. She is so skilled that she should retrain the rest of the staff. Jennifer went out of her way twice to fix errors that other employees created in the system. While she provides a first-class experience, patients shouldn't have to repeatedly correct the hospital's mistakes.

We sat in the room for a bit and w got him changed, cleaned and ready to go. All of the small processes in the room were stress-free and thorough. The family and I went out during his knee surgery and once that was completed the doctor called to let me know surgery was complete and everything went well. Then a nurse called and advised me on what happens next and let me talk to him. Once we arrived back we waited a short time and then we were able to head back to see him. Only two at a time. They had him up and walking and climbing stairs before we left. The staff was great! All of them!

This staff member's behavior was unprofessional and unacceptable, and was completely misaligned with the standards expected in a healthcare facility (a place that is supposed to provide a safe space in serving patients who may be emotionally vulnerable or concerned about their health). This staff member spoke to me, my family, as well as other patients in a manner that was extremely rude, dismissive, and openly disrespectful. Her tone of voice and demeanor conveyed an attitude of complete irritation, pure laziness, and a clear lack of accountability. Additionally, we witnessed her yell at an older patron to "Go sit down!" while he was attempting to ask a question. Her display of hostility toward someone simply seeking clarity about an update was horrifying. She is a BULLY. It seems as if this staff member counts on others not catching or hearing what she says (out loud or under her breath), or banks on no one speaking up against her or calling her out. I can 100% guarantee that this is not an isolated incident exhibited by this individual, but a continuous inappropriate behavior of hers that has never been addressed or corrected by management. This individual should be given a harsh consequence or be placed on some type of a behavior correction plan. Better yet, she should be removed entirely so that she is prohibited and banned from associating with any other human beings, ASAP. It's interesting, because each of the buildings have kind and helpful greeters posted by the entrance - how is it even remotely possible for this miserable obnoxious individual who is just NOT a good person continues to be employed and be allowed to interact with current and potential patients? Shameful. Endeavor Health, the ball is in your court - how will you advocate for your patients?
