What a delightful spot for the first meal of our trip to London! We stumbled upon this place after a quick Yelp search for a lunch destination in our area, and we're not at all disappointed. After a very long travel day, I'm sure we were quite a sight, but our waiter was excellent and super patient with us, even taking the time to explain the country's tipping policy, which was above and beyond. Our food was incredible. A little green from the flight and cab ride, I opted for a lighter option with the goat cheese on toast, while others in my party enjoyed the bangers and mash lunch special, and the scotch egg. Though the exterior is pretty unassuming, the restaurant is very clean and decorated nicely by someone who is clearly a true music fan. We loved this spot, and would add it to the itinerary for any trip! read more

Great Sunday roast dinners with prime rib, pork, and beautiful popovers...we snuck in at the last minute and enjoyed our chicken Caesar salad and buffalo bruschetta. The place is so comfortable and the staff is amazing! I highly recommend! read more

We are visiting London for my first time and we heard so many good things about Sunday Roast at The Albert Arms. My wife and I ordered the Beef Sirloin roast and was that a mistake. Both of our Sirloin cuts had a vein of gristle running through them and all we had was a butter knife to attempt to cut through it. It was easier to cut the gristle off of each piece and place the pile of gristle on the side. The fried potatoes were good but what isn't good when fried. Our server was friendly and attentive and the whole restaurant was filled at our 4pm reservation time. The restaurant was small and tight and we were given a small two-person table right between 2 other parties with very little space in between. Very, very disappointing!! read more

Decided to try this place out after visiting the war museum. Nice little pub with great food. We order the little chicken dish, lamb dish and hamburger. The portion was a nice size and was pretty tasty. Even the burger was thick and juicy and not over cooked. read more

Great place and vibe. We couldn't get a table last night, but we ate at the bar. Very friendly service. I had the steak and chips, Kir Royale, and the sticky toffee pudding. The food was great, I do not have any complaints about it flavor wise. My favorite was the pudding but the steak was cooked perfectly. It's also in a cute little area. It is located at the intersection to a forked road making for an interesting frontage. The interior is traditional but very quirky with an assortment of peculiar objects scattered intermittently around the room. Comfy seating and lots of exposed wood make for a great place to relax. The staff here are lovely and very chatty and can offer you a decent selection of tipples at extremely reasnable prices. Pub grub is also available with a plethora of British favourites including fish and chips, bangers and mash and shepherd's pie. Although nothing spectacular this place isn't aiming at being a swanky gastropub and the huge portions and great prices mean you won't be dissapointed. Great pub all round. read more

Wow what an excellent find is The Albert Arms. We stopped in on a whim while exploring the area. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We sat outside in a little garden drank some local beers and ate some tasty brunch food. I had the English full breakfast and the black pudding was yummy. The fish and chips were also very good! Nice place in an otherwise quiet neighborhood. The staff is welcoming and friendly. The bar area has a good atmosphere with plenty of regulars. The only reason why I give three stars is because of the food. Although portions are generous is the dishes are absolutely nothing special. A surprisingly nice pub in an area I am not too fond of. This place gets a 4 for the excellent bartender. About 30-40 people arrived all at the same time and as one of the last to get served I can say that he is fast and efficient and did really well on his own, given the rush! This is a lovely old pub and the couple of beers they were serving were not that predictable which was a welcome surprise. read more

I am a local currently living abroad and seen the Albert Arms change hands a few times so I had just to try it out when I was back in town.....and it was superb!! Excellent service, delicious food and definitely most inviting pub in the neighbourhood. Tucked away just moments from the Imperial War Museum it really is a gem. The Albert Arms has just reopened after a massive refurb, and the hard work put into the restoration shows. The staff has always been friendly, and they still are, but the menu now features such delicious items as rabbit pie, fish cakes, roast duck and the always delicious bangers & mash. I ordered a glass of white wine and I was asked if I liked a dry wine or a sweet. When I answered in the latter, I was pointed to a wine that is now my new favorite, all thanks to the staff taking a moment to ask about my likes. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the prices are very reasonable, and the food is exquisite. I live nearby, so I'll be visiting often. read more

The Albert Arms is a super good time. When I was a student at LCC down in Elephant and Castle my classmates and I would ditch class and opt to have a pint at this pub. It's small and traditionally decorated, but there's something about this place that makes it really special. Maybe it's because the crowd here is so diverse. Students, businessman, random local scalawags, you'll always see a new face in here. The prices are basic, nothing crazy expensive or crazy cheap in here. If you want some good people watching entertainment come here. read more
