Bubble tea is my go to comfort drink and i'm always on the hunt for a new spot! I discovered The Alley a while back and it's still one of my favourite spots to go to. The service is always great, they do have limited seating but it's a perfect place to grab a drink and go! Theres a few drinks I love grabbing every time i'm here. My favourite is the Crunchy Strawberry Milk Tea, its so good and the crunchy topping just puts it over the top. I have been to a handful of The Alley stores. I've been to one in Mississauga and another in Newmarket. For years, I have looked at this The Alley location from CoCo Bubble Tea. They are both in the same plaza. I love the strawberry black tea at CoCo and I also like this CoCo location. On January 9th, I was reminded by a friend that I can get any Royal No. 9 drink from The Alley at 50% off. The catch is that you need to show the promotion from either The Alley's Instagram account or through The Alley's app. There is a limit of two drinks. I went ahead and downloaded The Alley's app. I then signed up for rewards and headed over to this location. I got the following Royal No. 9 drinks: - Milk tea with rainbow jelly - Black tea with pineapple jelly Both were large in size. I got them with my usual no sugar and less ice. I had no problem parking steps away from this store's main entrance. I walked in and headed to the counter. The woman behind the counter was nice. I showed her the promotion through the app. I got my discount. She scanned my QR code from the app to earn points. I then paid with a credit card. My order was number 140. Good number. I waited patiently for my drinks. The interior was nice. There were seats and chairs to sit down and enjoy your bubble tea. I have always liked the forest decor. It didn't take long for my order to be ready. I thanked another woman who prepared my drinks and headed to my car. It did feel weird being in this plaza and not getting anything from CoCo. Next time! I loved my drinks. I normally don't do milk tea, but this one had a roasted flavour that I enjoyed with the rainbow jelly. I would get it again. Delicious! I had the black tea the following day. Anything with jelly preserves nicely if you need more time to consume it. This drink was excellent, too. I loved the black tea with the sweetness of the coconut jelly. I had a great experience. Bubble tea is my favourite drink (ever since I was little) and I have different stores I like to go to. With The Alley, my "go-to" drink is the Deerioca Ube Puff. The drink itself is sweet, made even sweeter with the custard and brown sugar boba. Unfortunately, this time, the boba was a bit tough - it felt like it could use 10 to 15 minutes more of cooking time to make it softer. The staff were friendly and efficient and I got my drink in no time. There's plenty of seating available inside, useful for if you want to have long chats and catch up with friends. Right up front by the door are two couches - perfect for those long conversations. I got both to try out!! Hojicha Milk tea with Taro Balls ($6.75): Hojicha milk tea, chucks of taro and chewy taro balls. Topped with snow velvet (cheese form) and Hojicha powder! All ingredients in this drink are my favorite and I enjoyed so so much and savor every sip of it!! Green Milk tea with taro balls ($6.75): Jasmine green milk tea, chucks of taro and chewy taro balls. Stopped by this cute spot after being getting a rave recommendation from my cousin! I was happy to note that there was plenty of parking just up the street and didn't require too far of a walk. While I generally enjoyed the bubble tea that I had here, I was a bit dismayed because 2 of my original orders were totally sold out so it required a bit of pivoting to order something that I would actually enjoy. Stopped by the alley because I was craving their deerioca ube puff. While waiting in line, I noticed a new product, custard toast. The deerioca ube puff never disappoints. It's just the right amount of sweetness and the tapioca was soft and chewy. The custard toast one the other hand was a bit lacking. It is a regular toast with a thin layer of custard on it that honestly just tasted like sugar. However, for $2 I wasn't expecting that much. I have been to the Alley many times & have never had a bad drink. Their menu is pretty creative. I recently saw that they have a drink made with ube (purple yam) so had to try it. I got the deerioca ube taro (brown sugar tapioca with mashed taro and fresh milk topped with ube taro sauce). The drink was pretty good but my favorite part was the brown sugar tapioca. They always get the texture right & it's the perfect amount of sweetness. Best best part was that I got this drink for free using my reward points. Refreshing to taste and love the smoothness of the tea I actually like this location a lot compared to others as it's more quiet and spacious. The Alley is still my favourite bubbletea chain. They may not have the chewiest Tapioca but the tea and flavours I think are the most unique. My recent favourite is the Snow Velvet Peach Hojicha drink which combines the strong roasted tea flavour with subtle sweetness from the Peach and a thick layer of cream on top. I like a lot of their other teas like the Assam Black, latte or just plain. They also have other retail products like nougat which are some nice additions. read more

There is a large seating area with great modern decor and dimmed, relaxing lighting. It is very clean and welcoming. Service is very quick and efficient. The Alley has just opened another location in Markham! This time right at Kennedy and Bur Oak - beside Pierre Elliot. I can imagine this location being super busy during lunch and after school hours. We ordered the Northern Lights and the Morning Dawn drinks from the Aurora Series as we've always wanted to try these super cool drinks. Not only are they very instagrammable, but super tasty and refreshing! Handcrafted with care, Northern Lights consists of layers of apple cider vinegar, grape juice, and butterfly pea tea. Morning Dawn is more of a tropical drink, made with jasmine tea, butterfly pea tea, and mango juice. Please note it does it does take at least 15 minutes to make each drink as each layer is carefully made by hand. read more

If you want your usual taro milk tea, then this is not the place as they have specific drinks only. We ordered the royal 9 hot milk tea, and. deerioca matcha. Friends ordered trio milk tea, Oreo devils slush, white peach oolong. Most of us ordered less sugars , such as 30% or 50 % sugar. Even at 30% I find it very sweet. Love this place!! Cute place on Kennedy and Burroak. Service: It was my first time coming to this location and the server was super nice and helpful. She offered to help me choose from the menu and even suggested to get points on their app. She showed me how to download the app and how to gain the points every time I went to the store. Definitely great service!! The Drink was made within five minutes or so! Location: It's the perfect spot to have this store! There are a few more bubble tea stores coming into this plaza though! The plaza has plenty of parking and probably only busy during noon. The store it self is very modern looking and super clean as well as organized. They really thought about the little details and maintain the store well. Not a busy place on the weekdays but I assume weekends must be busy! The Alley is one of my favourite bubble tea chains! This location is very conveniently located in a small plaza with ample parking spots. Service is always very quick, usually in and out within 5 minutes. My all time favourite drink is the brown sugar deerioca (with fresh milk). I've tried a lot of other brown sugar tapioca drinks at other BBT places that were similarly priced, and none of them compares to this one! The flavour is just right (not diluted, good ratio of brown sugar:milk), and the texture of the tapioca is very chewy. read more

No.9 had a strongly fragrant aroma of blueberry, and the Garden had tasty, perfectly strong-enough milk tea beneath a still-crisp Oreo crumb top. Woah it's my 100th review :D The alley is still my top tier bbt place for the GTA. Usually, I go to the one down my main street unionville, but this was on the way while I was driving. It's definitely much bigger and the decor had this rustic vibe that is similar to other locations. Of course, it wasn't busy at all on a weekday and I got my drink within 5 minutes. They made the drink, royal number 9, perfectly so I have nothing but good to say about this place. Next time, I should honestly try other drinks like that famous deerioca with milk, so when I do...look out for an update. read more

4.5 Design is super cute inside this location, I just wish they had more seats. I like their house blend tea, which taste super different than your run of the house bbt chain. Their milk tea has blueberry notes in it! My personal favourite is white peach oolong. The peach is subtle. My only complaint is that their bbts are quite pricey. read more

Been here twice. Large clean location with abundance of seating available. Their regular items are made quickly but when i ordered the summer grapefruit creme brulee oolong tea it took a long time - it looked like they only made it a few times. Regardless the drinks are good even the new grapefruit item - was worried it would be over-sweet since you cannot control the sugar level but it was ok. The icy foam at the top was interesting. Just checked out the new alley location at the Bur Oak plaza. Be expected to wait a long time for bubble tea. There are a lot of high school students trying to get a refreshing bubble tea during school hours. I would have to say that the peak hours is at 11-3. I ordered the Jasmine Green Milk Tea. It is a pretty solid drink. However with my friend's drink she ordered half sugar but it seems like she was given none. But a good tip is to get tapioca, adds sugar to the drink. I highly recommend to get the Iron Goddess Milk Tea and the White Peach Oolong. As for the interior design it is very nice. I really like how they added the brick walls. Nice finishing touch to the design. As you can see from the photos we were so eager to try this place we couldn't wait. Overall I would rate this place 8.5/10. read more

He came back with a drink, but also a tea bag in the bubble tea. It's kind of strange since the other day, he got the same drink without a tea bag. The hubs did say the flavour is way better with the tea bag than without. Don't forget that there's 10% during their soft opening. this is a brand new location close to where I live which is great because the closest one right now is the Unionville one. it is much spacier and it has a big cool tree in the middle, aesthetic decor inside. the people are nice but their service can be kind of slow compared to other places and one time my drink took 20 min even though there were barely anyone there i got the royal number 9 that I got before at other locations and it had the standard blueberry taste. a unique milk tea compared to other milk teas since it is lighter and has floral fruit taste. it has similar pricing to its competitors 4/5 My favourite right now is the jasmine green milk tea because it has a prominent jasmine taste and the regular sugar is the perfect sweetness for me ! 5/5 I also got the alley trio milk te it has boba pineapple jelly and rainbow jelly. it has good sweetness and taste so awesome 4/5 The hojicha latte is alright wouldn't get it again basically a matcha latte but not a very prominent matcha flavour 3/5 Least favourite drink is the guava lime juice because it has some lime bits in every sip which is not tasty and annoying to spit out but the taste of the juice is good 2/5 They have unique toppings like purple rice, milk pudding and pineapple jelly that I have seen anywhere else read more

Came here twice so far to try out there newest location in Markham. Very convenient location for high school kids near PETHS as it is right next door. This location hasn't officially kicked off their grand opening yet but they were offering a 10% discount to customers during their soft opening. (Essentially you just dont have to pay tax on the drink). I tried a new drink which I normally wouldn't get which was the Dark Knight. When I received it I didn't expect the color to be so dark, I guess thats why they named it Dark Knight for a reason. It was almost the same color as you would drink Coke. The taste was pretty gross, the only thing the barista told me was the tea was more sweet than herbally so it was hard to figure out whether it would taste good or not. First couple of sips it was too sweet and I had asked for slight sugar too =/... Other than that it had a very syrupy texture and tasted a bit like medicine... I didn't even bother finished it and just dumped it as it was pretty horrible tasting. Other than that not so good experience all their popular drinks are all relatively the same as any other location. No. 9 and Iron Goddess never disappoint. Good location, plenty of parking. The Alley is probably my favorite bubble tea franchise in the GTA right now so I was excited to see a location open up in my girlfriend's neighborhood. I got the Iron Goddess flavour after trying out the sample which was very rich and delicious. Excited that The Alley opened a new location in Markham. To be fair, I came during their soft opening which meant 10% off my drink, but also meant some room for improvement. I order my favorite drink at The Alley; Lime Guava juice which includes lime zest pieces. FYI, this drink is very tasty and refreshing but the pieces of lime bits are very bitter. The drink took quite a while to make and when it came, the seal was not stuck on properly so juice spilled. They also forgot my tapioca so they politely apologized which took another long while. With kids from PET heading there during their breaks. It's nicely decorated and has beautiful set up. Currently they are doing a soft opening and is offering a 10% discount on all drinks. This place is pricier than other shops but ttheir teas are higher end as well. I ordered the Royal No. 9 milk tea with tapioca. It tastes perfect. I'm glad that the alley opened literally minutes from where I live but I think this location is still new and I can see the people running it are lacking much experience in service and knowledge of their own products. Really should have more training for all your employees before letting them serve clients, it slows down the speed and quality. I believe thru time, it should improve hence the 3 star review for now. Hoping that they will improve over time. My all-time favourite for the alley is always the deerioca with the black sugar tapioca...the sweetness is really on point...not too sweet and not too dull...the only downfall is that this drink is not available anytime of the day, it's generally available after 2pm and that is for every store. They said it takes 3 hours to make the tapioca with black sugar and it's done everyday. I tried going for that right after lunch and it wasn't readily available so I had to choose something else. This location is much bigger in capacity than other alleys I've been to. All in all, I'm glad the alley opened closeby to helps my cravings. I will be back..=) read more
