Terrible building. There for 4 years and it went down hill very quickly. Pool has been in "repair" for well over a year, elevators are out of order regularly, fire alarm going off all hours of the day and night yet they have no problem raising your rent on a regularly basis! I currently live in the Allure Mineola and have for the last year. We have had a lingering sewage smell that they have not been able to fix throughout our whole lease. Then they still increased our rent for the upcoming year. We are now trying to move out and we asked for them to make an exception for move out time as we found another apartment elsewhere and they've ghosted our emails for the last week. Throughout our whole lease we have asked for lower rent due to the smell but were ignored. Upon resigning, we asked again and told not possible. On top of not fixing the smell in our apartment, many things are broken in the whole building - 1) parking garage pipes leak some thick liquid on the cars, leading many spots to be blocked off by cones, 2) golf simulator broke early into our lease and was never fixed, 3) broken machines in the gym sit for months without fixing as well (they charge additional fees on top of rent for all these things they don't fix). Ive been told by an old employee we met that the garage leakage has been going on for 6 years. Furthermore, the fire alarm is the loudest noise I've ever heard. I read this in past Yelp reviews before moving in and was naive to not believe it. Many residents complain about it given the fire alarm is very sensitive and often going off forcing the building to evacuate in the middle of the night. It causes bad ear pain and headaches the following week. It's truly traumatizing when it goes off. The building claims this is the regulated noise by local fire department marshals but I honestly think it's just another thing they don't want to fix. Lastly, the walls and floors are beyond thin. The employees at the leasing office are so nice and do their best but there is high turnover which clearly demonstrates issues with higher up Bozzuto management. I do not recommend living here. read more

I had the unfortunate experience of having my packages stolen twice while living here. Additionally, there is a high turnover rate in the leasing office. The street lights on the outside of the building are either intentionally not working or just never will get fixed, which creates a gloomy and dangerous atmosphere when walking outside in the evening. Furthermore, the pool heater seems to work occasionally, and there are often issues with the few elevators in the building. read more

Next! At the end of the day, I just hope things get resolved . :) So I came on here to write a negative review and I skimmed through all the reviews posted and let me just say. I do agree with the alarm situation. It has gotten to be veryyy disturbing. However, a lot of the reviews are outright FABRICATED! The review from "Tre D" in particular! It is exaggerated to the max. A homeless person in someones living room???? That is ABSURD! The Allure has disappointed me in the past few months and I hope all of the complaints from all the residents (including myself) will help in getting things finally resolved around here. I do believe that they are trying to get this resolved and that there are great things about this property. I strongly believe some of the bad reviews are from disgruntle present or past residents (or maybe the same person) that has it out for the staff for whatever reason. There's definitely some changes that need to be made and that is why I am writing a review. Hmmm, pretty suspicious how after any negative review is posted, a fake positive review is created by a fake account. Allure must be real thirsty! I am so glad my lease ended and I moved out of this dump! I think it's hilarious that the management team is now making fake reviews to try and combat all of the negative reviews. In regards to these negative reviews, they are all absolutely true! I can't tell you how many times the fire alarms have gone off when there isn't actually a fire. Most people stopped evacuating their apartments because the alarms were going off constantly all hours of the night when there was no true threat. Also, there have been several leaks that have occurred flooding out people's apartments. One of my neighbors had her entire apartment flood out. When she asked the Allure what they were going to do about it, they told her to simply submit a claim to her insurance company. She ended up moving out after the property management company failed to do anything about it. Don't even get me started on the parking situation. They force you to pay for parking, but don't enforce any of the rules. Anyone can enter the parking garage, as they don't care if you have a sticker or not. People who don't pay for reserved parking actually park in reserved spots. People who don't even live here park here, so they can walk to the nearby train station. The parking garage is also so poorly constructed, when it rains, be prepared for a white glue like residue to leak on your car and ruin the paint. Plan on purchasing a cover for your car, or else it will get ruined. The amenities are all broken and never fixed. They charge you a large amenity fee annually, but don't hold up on their end of the bargain. The gym equipment is constantly broken, there is no longer a coffee machine, and they turned the business center into some garbage video game room where you can play virtual golf. Are we catering to 12 year old children??? The building is so poorly constructed you can hear EVERYTHING. You can hear you neighbors sneeze. There is an 80% rug rule that is not enforced either. Be prepared to never get any sleep because you will hear your neighbors' every move. You can hear them walk, talk, stomp, etc. There are also many dogs here that bark incessantly, so be prepared to deal with that nuisance. The property management staff is beyond abysmal. The young, inexperienced property manager is extremely rude. If you raise an issue with her, she has no problem getting into your face and yelling at you. The only helpful person in that office was Eleni, but she left some time ago. The customer service is horrible and having to deal with the incompetence is a nightmare. These people are the epitome of "Long Island" stereotypes. Recommendation - do NOT move here. This place used to be full of thriving professionals, but the type of tenant to whom they now cater has drastically changed. With Modera Metro Mineola now open just down the street, I would move here. Modera is a wonderful property management company who employs competent, professional staff. The rents are also cheaper than The Allure with much better amenities. Do yourself a favor avoid a headache and avoid Allure! read more

The fire alarm in this building has gone off 4-5 times in the last month, 3 times in the middle of the night. The sound is deafening. They email that they are working on this, but it has been happening in clusters since I have lived here. One of the 2 main elevators has been out of service for weeks on end on and off for months. I know of 3 times that people have gotten stuck in them and the fire department has come to get them out. read more

So glad we got out of this place when we did. We rented here for about a year and a half. I would say the first 6 months were pretty good, despite the constant noise from the flag pole thrashing against the building. We were in a corner apartment facing old country road. Danielle rented us the apartment and things ran pretty smoothly when it was the Modera. We picked this place because it was dog friendly. When bozzuto took over, it all went exponentially down hill. Fire alarms constantly going off. Elevators never working. They don't enforce the trash rules or parking stickers (which you are paying for). The rent prices fluctuated by hundreds of dollars each day. It's always fun to see what someone could be paying for your apartment just coming in to the building when you are paying $4200/month because you rented in a "high season." The last few months we lived there, things were completely unbearable. My girlfriend and I got stuck in the elevators. We were in there for 1 hour. The fire department had to come rescue us, as I was hyperventilating because of how hot it was getting in there. When we asked Keri for a discount in our rent, the answer was just "nothing we can do." Fine. Then, the fire alarms started going off CONSTANTLY. We dealt with a few false alarms in the past, but this was constant. In one week, it went off on a Sunday at 8pm. Fine. My dog was shaking and crying. We are running down 5 flights of stairs with the dog and standing in the rain. We go back in after 30 minutes. At 2am, fire alarms off again. Same schlep down the 5 flights with my scared dog. The next night, same thing happens. We were literally dreaming of fire alarms going off and having severe PTSD. The best part was meeting with Joe to find out the decibel level of the fire alarm is so high that if you google it, you are NOT supposed to be exposed to that high of a level for more than 10 seconds or it can cause permanent damage to your ears. We asked Joe why hasn't this been fixed? The answer was It's too much money for the fire department to fix each apartment. My girlfriend was hysterical in his office as we learned of the permanent damage we were doing to our ears and our dogs ears. After that fiasco, we decided it was time to buy a house. We paid to break our lease and it was the best decision we ever could have made for our health and sanity. I can't stress how horrendous this building is enough. Literally pitch a tent on the street before you live here. read more

Move in date Feb 19. So far so good. We love Foula who works in the office. She makes living there easy!! We moved from a one bedroom to a two bedroom in Dec and we LOVE IT. Everything is modern and new. The building is also very clean. They hold you packages for you and even let you know when you have one. Dry cleaning picks up and drops off on Weds and Fridays. I honestly feel like I live in a hotel. They fix everything for you (even if a light bulb goes out). Everyone in building is friendly. Thanks Allure! read more

Very disappointed. Already a bunch of issues. Was told noise from cars outside not a problem but last night was loud! A dog was barking and howling on my floor until 3:45 a.m. I have emailed their office to let them know. Caulking in my shower peeling off and there are yellow colored lines on my shower tile walls. Really want to leave after two days. Hardly any parking slots in garage for visitors in this busy metro area. $750 for amenities...plus $75-150 a month for garage and $25 for trash. Crazy fees. Rent prices change daily and now their website won't even show floor plans nor rents anymore. read more

Maria b (after reading her review) must be smoking pot which goes on openly in the Allure but that's another matter. Once again (20 false alarms in 3 years) tenants were woken up from sleep last night with the ear piercing alarms. It happens so often that the mineola FD took 10 minutes to arrive this time and many tenants cover the apt alarms with tape and remain in their apartment. There would be hundreds of negative reviews (I've read them all) but bozzutos manager cancels yelp and reopens so they get deleted. What does that tell you. This will definitely be the last year for me. If you want crumbling infrastructure, elevators broken or when working sound like they are going to collapse, broken doors, people smoking openly , dogs howling at all hours then feel free to pay 3k plus for a one BR. read more

Could not love this building more! It feels like you're living in a luxury hotel, with everything you need at your fingertips. I love hosting my family and friends- they are always so impressed with the apartment itself and all of the amenities. Management and maintenance are the most professional, friendly, helpful people you could ask for- they really make us, and our puppy, feel at home every day. read more

I've been a resident for slightly less than three years and I highly recommend The Allure. I've really made this place my home in every sense. One of my biggest concerns while searching for a new home was to find an apartment home that was safe and convenient. Not only is it safe and convenient (only minutes away from all major highways - close to shopping mall and fun new trendy restaurants) but the apartment homes consist of the top of the line appliances- beautiful floors- large gorgeous windows- and my apartment even has a balcony that overlooks the courtyard. I love entertaining and inviting my friends and family. They are always in awe when they see all of the amenities: outdoor pool- clubroom with large screen tv and pool table- outdoor grills. Additionally I'd like to add that the management team, both leasing office and maintenance team, have always provided A+++ service. read more

First of all, the review by "Maria B." is completely inaccurate, and not only that, she is also the girlfriend of the leasing agent "Foula H." who works in The Allure office. Now onto my review: If you like being awaken by fire alarms going off all hours of the night, then I suggest living here. In fact, the fire alarms started going off this morning around 5:00am and are still blaring. My poor dog is so scared because not only do the alarms go off constantly at random hours when there's never actually a fire, but they are so loud and deafening. I can't take this anymore! I'm going to be reaching out to the various local and state housing authorities to report this to see if there's anything that can be done. This has to violate some sort of building code or ordinance. Property management likes to send out apology e-mails offering us free coffee and donuts when this happens. We don't want that, what we want is for the fire alarms to stop going off constantly! There are so many issues with both the building and the staff who work here I just really want to leave ASAP. It doesn't seem like anyone is ever held accountable for anything. After calling multiple times to schedule a tour because no one ever seems to answer the phone in the leasing office, I finally secured an appointment. When I arrived for my scheduled tour, I had to wait almost an hour for the leasing agent to show up. She seemed very rushed and rude when I met her. She avoided answering a lot of my questions for some reason. She kept looking at me like she was judging me. I can't help but think my race had something to do with this treatment. I was so turned off by her behavior that I left midway through the tour. I wouldn't recommend this place. I couldn't imagine living in a place where the staff treats you this way. read more

I have lived in this building for 3 years now, to which we are ECSTATIC to finally be moving out in 2 weeks. Do not be fooled by the "positive" reviews on this page- they are not truly honest in their motives. The only benefit to living here is easy access to the LIRR as a commuter, otherwise, you are just listening to the trains all day long or you are listening to the car/semi-truck noise pollution coming from the other side of the building where the beautiful Old Country Rd is located. You can even hear the buildings flags slamming against the flag poles when it is windy all night long! The elevators are petrifying to ride in (*when they are working properly*), the sidewalks and walkways are covered in dog pee and poop, people smoke RIGHT OUTSIDE the front entrance (front doors are glass with zero insulation) causing the lobby to stink, people park in the garage without a pass (they get $150 alone from my apartment for proper parking passes) with zero enforcement, people have animals that are aggressive and howl all day/night long, people leave their trash in the hallways waiting for the pickup service for HOURS.. but my worst complaint is the fire alarm. Over 3 years, we have had 20+ false fire alarms go off at ALL HOURS of the night. The decibel volume of the alarm itself has to be illegal- it is so loud that it causes our dog to become panicked, stressed and shake for hours afterwards- the idea of this happening without us there during the day is enough for us to leave this building!! Literally has NEVER been a fire in the building, just a slew of "apology" emails from management. This building is stick built, crumbing and just a façade- nothing luxury about it. They will not be able to compete with the other buildings going up in the area- SAVE YOURSELF A HEADACHE- RUN AND FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE! read more
