There was nothing overwhelming about my chicken and waffles, but it was tasty! Though empty, the atmosphere was nice. I'd like to go back during a night with music. The reason for four stars: My mimosa was mostly orange juice.

We stayed at the hotel (in Genevieve) and ate lunch at the Bistro, and both were excellent! It is such a beautiful place, and only a short walk from the beach. The room was comfortable, clean, quiet and private. We had our own little balcony with a view of the beach. Couldn't have been more happy with it. The continental breakfast was really nice, too, with great fresh fruit and pastries. They have a very nice lounge area/veranda on the second floor. The bistro is really cool too, and has a full bar. We were seated immediately, and the waitress was awesome. We got the trout and the fried shrimp basket. Both were delicious and really well priced. The drinks were tasty and strong too. We were only there for a night but I would have loved to go back for dinner or to check out their events. Basically, I am positive we will be staying and eating there again. Thank you Almanett staff!

    Garlic toast I think.

First time here. Was a little confused on where the entrance was, lol, but eventually found it. The interior isn't that big but it was nicely decorated. They have live music some nights and also poetry night; can't remember what nights though. The waitress and bartender were nice. I ordered the Trout with pasta bordelaise as a side. It was very good. The crab cakes were good also. My wife got the all u can eat fried fish. It was pretty good. Gotta go back to try the gumbo.

I didn't stay but I did tour. My sister is the artist who painted the lemons and limes in the dining area, if you've been there you know what I mean. Chappy is great! The services is awesome. The food is so good if I had socks they would have flew off. I am a sucker for fried green tomatoes and the ones I had here were the best I've ever had. Tart tangy with delicious crawfish tails mmmm mmm c'est si bon. Might I add I came all the way from Seattle. I also had the blackened shrimp pasta .... The noodles in the pasta were so perfectly amazing.... I mean amazing !! I cannot wait to go back and eat there again and again and again. Beautiful ambiance, great food, and service can't beat that!

    Really great ambiance!

Walked out. Do not go. They were out of fish, shrimp, oysters. We still ordered what they had but gave up after 40 min

Michael, who's family owns and operates this fine little Hotel & Bistro, seated us and took our drink orders.

Be expected to pay double what you order…read more Ordered the $5 house wine while out with friends. Had 4 throughout the whole night. Once the tab came i noticed each glass was charged as $10 each. An original $25 night turned into over $50 with tax. Paid my tab without question, guessing I read the menu wrong. Waited outside for a ride just to have the customers sitting by me leaving and coming to me to say that as soon as I left the bar, the bartender confessed to them that she was out of the $5 wine the whole night and was giving me the $10 glass, hoping I wouldn't notice. Too bad, seemed like a nice bartender, she's obviously done this more than once. Want to get scammed? Then this is the place for you.
